Amazon Flex Bots Take the Good Routes First

“Well, this is surprising. I just received a Level 4 reserved offer for a four-hour route for $94 at Irvine VAX1. I haven’t seen a four-hour route since they changed the route lengths and lowered the pay. Do you think the four-hour routes are coming back? This might be a good…”
“I literally refreshed for 3 hours yesterday while watching a movie and got zero offers. Is that normal? Will it get better once I get t level 2? How am I supposed to get to level 2 if I can't get offers? I have been delivering for about a week, have done 3 blocks.”
“I understand it's a rolling 40-hour week, so every day's hours drop and you can pick up new ones, but is it normal to not get any routes showing up at all? I've only got one route scheduled for this coming week, and it's on a Thursday, which makes no sense. I do not see routes…”
Multiple posts highlight frustrations among Amazon Flex drivers, including concerns about route quality, inconsistent pay, missing packages, and the use of bots. Drivers express dissatisfaction with the current system and its impact on their earnings and workload.

“Has anyone heard if DOT 4 in Camarillo is changing the way they assign routes? I overheard some Flex drivers talking about it, but I didn’t get the full story. Does anyone know what’s going on? submitted by /u/SCPO_USN [link] [comments]”
“Thinking of going fulltime with Amazon Flex Hi, fellow Amazon Flex Drivers. I’m considering doing this fulltime.. I hate my current fulltime job and I like being in charge of my hours etc.. in my area, I’ve made $500 in 4 days , the next week I made $200/day for 5 days which is great cash but gotta set aside $$ for taxes . My vehicle is in great shape and well maintained. I’ve estimated I can make around $4-5k/month gross I just don’t like doing anything in the dark bc of safety etc.. I’m a woma”

“I’ve been doing flex for only a couple months now, about 30 blocks in total. I never see any routes available on the main offer page, so I have to do the “request” page. My question is the reserved routes. I am level 3 and see you get 20 minutes to accept a reserved route when offered, I have just never seen it. Is it not really a thing or am I just looking at the wrong time? Thanks for any insight! submitted by /u/Shaughtzz [link] [comments]”
“New to flex. For the routes do you stick to the drop off order listed by Amazon or do your own? Why or why not? How would you do this route? Edit: Was coming from south on freeway, I should have started backwards from 36, then work my way up north, then the right. What I did was start at 2 and pretty much went right side, northside, then back down to the 36 submitted by /u/MantisTobagganMD5 [link] [comments]”

“4hr routes. Amazon guy offered to split routes so they each get half. Didn’t look like enough routes and they were pretty crappy at that. Nobody wanted to take anything. So they all just like banded together and parked farther down. They were just hanging out when I left nobody loaded anything. The 4 hours were $88 I saw tonight. Grabbed a 3hr $81 myself. submitted by /u/ComplexBreakfast [link] [comments]”
“Hi! Title. Although I work for a DSP 4 days a week I still would also like to do flex on the side, so my question becomes how do I know what areas aren’t filled up? submitted by /u/MissInfamousRagdoll [link] [comments]”
“Has it been confirmed that flex drivers are using bots to book routes? Or is that just speculation? I’ve seen the drivers in my area. They don’t look like the type that even know bots exist, let alone know how to use them. submitted by /u/Public_Shoe_7660 [link] [comments]”

“Earlier this year the 3.5s had at the most 30 stops. Now its on average about 42 stops for 3.5 the pay is the same sometimes 5-7$ LESS just wondering if this is a common thing all around or just at this specific warehouse submitted by /u/DrinkRound3484 [link] [comments]”

“Hello, for those of you that do Amazon flex driving in Georgia… is it still worth it since they opened up more warehouses? Cause I seen the jobs are shorter which made the pay less for each job. How much can be made in a week now ? submitted by /u/Affectionate-Tap-198 [link] [comments]”
“What in the world is going on with CLT the past few days. I’ve never had to work so hard to find a decent route and in fact yesterday I took the worst I’ve ever taken. Need the $. “I usually do morning 3.5 routes from here. Any that start before 4:30am. I’ve been given the same area for the past month. Which was never the case before. Is this happening to anyone else? I don’t get super far routes from this station anymore. submitted by /u/Entire-Station-4120 [link] [comments]”

“*Other than Pay* If you could take over Flex, what would you change? I would send every driver in the direction towards their home. The closest route to your home is what you are automatically assigned. Biggest reason is that if something comes up - emergency vehicles, closed roads, flooding - you’re familiar with the area and you can re-route to deliver every package instead of taking them back. If an Injury happens, I think people are more likely to complete delivery. I was in the city right n”
“Hi! I'm new to Amazon Flex, I've done about 3-4 deliveries and I'm just not sure if it's worth it in my area. The pay was $75.50. My drive to the facility is about 20-30 minutes (the other delivery facility is about 45 minutes away so I thought it was better). Everyday my route ends and I'm about 1.5 hours away from home 😬 I'm not sure if it's just slower in my area or what. My slot time was 12-3:30- but I got done at about 2:15 today which was nice, because yesterda”
“I've been reddit free for weeks but had to reinstall because I can't find an actual route optimizer that works! I have 80 stops over a 100 mile area that I need optimized. I even paid for an app that did absolutely nothing, just routed the addresses in no particular order. All of these apps are a scam. I have an Excel file with 80 addresses id like to import, please give me a solid suggestion?! Thanks!! submitted by /u/SoManyQuestions5200 [link] [comments]”

“I'VE CURRENTLY WORKED 38.5 HRS( 1.5HR LEFT ), HAVE 2 SCHEDULED ROUTES ( 2 BLOCKS = 7 HOURS ) AND I STILL SEE MULTIPLE ROUTES( THEY ARE FAR FROM WHERE I'M LOCATED, NO ROUTES FORM STATIONS CLOSE TO ME ) FOR 3,3:30,4 HR BLOCKS.. IF I TAKE A ROUTE TOMORROW MORNING ( 3AM BLOCKS ) WILL IT AUTOMATICALLY CANCEL MY SCHEDULED BLOCKS? DOES IT RESET BACK TO 0HRS NEXT WEEK? submitted by /u/Jalon70 [link] [comments]”

“Besides getting paid more. What is one thing you would like to change about driving for Amazon Flex? I would like to do more deliveries closer to home. Or at least know where the route is going before I pick up the route. submitted by /u/Tenn1717 [link] [comments]”

“I was at a .com station this morning. they brought out 8 routes for 15 drivers. They usually split the routes so everyone takes a little. But today they gave all 8 routes to the first eight drivers and sent the other seven drivers home with pay. I emailed Amazon and this was their response. I only had 11 deliveries but I covered 76 miles. Almost 2 hours of work. It would have been nice to split it with one other driver that was there at the station ready to work. submitted by /u/Tenn”
“I’ve started to notice Amazon flex seems to giving 1-2hrs routes. 3-4.5hr seem to very rare. Also don’t see early morning routes for Wauwatosa area where couple months ago they had 3:15-4am Monday-Sunday. Anyone know what’s going on? submitted by /u/Sufficient_Waltz_227 [link] [comments]”

“Amazon Flex drivers: What would fair pay actually look like? Amazon advertises around $18–$25/hour, but that’s before paying for your own gas, maintenance, tires, insurance, and depreciation. If drivers were compensated fairly, it would make more sense to separate labor from vehicle costs: * Labor: around $24/hour * Vehicle reimbursement: 72.5¢ per mile (the current IRS business mileage rate) Using that formula, many 3.5-hour routes would pay roughly $125–$160, not $63–$77. I’m curious what othe”

“I’m a new Flex driver. I saw on a DSP post, that they give drivers “Nursery Routes” for their first shifts, and I wondered if we get easier routes at first? I ask, because I’ve done 3 now, and they were: 1st, 2 hour block: 20 packages, 20 stops, in the burbs, all to homes within sub divisions, but all clustered together. Finished 5 mins late because I numbered my packages wrong at the station. 2nd, 2 hour block: 3 packages, 3 stops, rural route with first stop 45 mins away. Finished early and wa”
“77 mile 2 hour route, 61 mile 1.5 hour route and a 38 mile 1 hour route. Earnings with the IRS milage deduction -$4.09, -$4.85 and -$1.74. On a different note I did get a no route for my first route (a 1 hour). “Amazon double booking routes with two drivers is their new way of getting around having to pay the 30 minute discharge. If you’ve seen this more comment below. twice now I’ve been discharged the station and support can see the route was assigned to another driver and not . just keep an eye out. submitted by /u/BarnacleAlarmed3050 [link] [comments]”

“Flex is not my main job (thank god) and I typically do routes more frequently during certain seasons when my other job is less busy. Over the past two months life has been crazy and my job has also been really busy. I was working really consistently doing two or three blocks a week during April and May and could pretty much get a block whenever I wanted it at one of the two main stations that I have filtered. They weren’t always high paying… Sometimes I would have to take a base pay, but they we”

“I just started doing Amazon Flex about a week ago. Did my first 3 shifts no problem. My standing is currently great. I picked up shifts this week for Tuesday, Friday, and Saturday. All 3:30 to 6 PM. All 3 times my shifts were canceled the day of. On Tuesday it was an hour before. On Friday it was the morning of. For Saturday they canceled it around midnight. All 3 say I will still get paid with nothing going against my standing. I've read a few horror stories about people's account being”
“I got my first ever offer yesterday. I always keep on refreshing the app and nothing. I got to the warehouse house yesterday and it was FULL OF FLEX DRIVERS. TONS OF THEM. Are these drivers using bots to get the offers. I rarely get any! submitted by /u/ExclusivelyMDs [link] [comments]”

“My third week doing Amazon Flex, and I think I'm done. For Whole Foods, I completed 10 orders. Seven of those routes had me driving around 100 miles for a 2-hour block. I only made $44 before tips, and most of the time there weren't any. For package deliveries, I've done seven routes, and three of them sent me way out into the middle of nowhere on rough, rocky roads full of bumps. Today was the last straw. My car literally went airborne for about two seconds after hitting something i”
“Hey everyone, I’m in Jacksonville, FL and I’m still fairly new to Flex. I’m trying to understand how things work outside of regular scheduled blocks, especially Instant Offers. Most of the time my regular offers page is empty, so I’m curious if there are other ways people are picking up routes besides just waiting for scheduled blocks to show up. I see the Instant Offer map in the app, but I’m not fully sure how useful it is in Jax or how drivers are supposed to use it. For drivers who work this”
“I do flex in Nashville TN, and they just dropped all the routes for Sunday, around 4:30 pm. It was the first time in our market I had seen rates drop way below $20/hr, before today they were holding steady around 20 (at least for me). But today they rolled out the $72 4 hr block and the $54 3 hr blocks. I won’t work for anything under $25/hr so I was just going to check back tomorrow. However I kept refreshing and by 4:50 rates had gone up significantly. I was able to catch a $104 4 hr, and more”

“Hey everyone! I’m moving to Dallas in a few weeks and plan to keep driving for Flex. I’m hoping to get a "cheat sheet" from those of you familiar with the DFW market. Are there specific warehouses I should avoid due to nightmare routes or parking issues? I’m also curious about the typical range for route pay and if there are specific times of day where the blocks are actually worth taking. Any local tips on navigating the area or surviving the DFW traffic would be a huge help. Thanks i”
