I wanted to share my stats and ask about my chances/where in general (or specifically) I should be applying to in the USA (I have MSAR but you can only learn so much from it). I am wondering if I should apply to T20s given my MCAT. I am aware the requirements are much tougher for Canadians. I will not be applying to USDO. Below are my stats and projected hours - what I think they will add up to by application time. 3rd year undergrad”

“I just realized that because of my major, which is basically a paramedical-type degree, but it’s pretty specific to my school so I’m leaving the exact name out, and my double minor in chemistry and neuroscience, I’m taking a LOT of pre-med/medical-related classes. I’ll have anatomy, advanced biochem, neuroscience courses, and a bunch of medically specific classes through my major. My major is also where I’ll be getting the majority of my clinical hours. I know everyone says your major doesn’t re”

“Im a junior in high school, in a private school in the Dominican Republic. . I'm legally american, since i was born there. I want to study medicine abroad, specifically in the US. Im not sure which state since I havent investigated properly but i specifically want a BS/MD program that will speed up the whole processs, so instead of the typical 8 years, I do 6. “Are there any international students who have gotten an interview from MSUCOM yet? I applied as soon as aacomas opened up and I submitted my secondaries pretty quick too. I see that people have started getting interviews already and I’ve seen people who have submitted secondaries later than me get invites already. Do they send invites later for international students? submitted by /u/hairyknee9502 [link] [comments]”

“Applying to medical school can be a stressful endeavor. In the end, if your GPA is good, there are many routes to acceptance. If your GPA is not good, there are international options that you can pursue. As for the MCAT, if you spend enough time studying, you will very likely eventually break 505, which may not be the most competitive for USMD, but it can get you in somewhere outside the US. For those that have strong applications (3.8+, 510+), shoot your shot and keep trying. Don’t let panicked”

“Hi everyone. I'm a Canadian student at the University of Toronto trying to figure out the most realistic path forward to medical school. I know my GPA is very low, so I'm looking for realistic advice, especially from people who have gone through academic reinvention, SMPs, US DO admissions, or Caribbean medical schools. Academic background: My current university cGPA is around 2.3 . My first couple years were particularly rough and I have multiple low grades, including some Ds/Fs and rep”

“I'm pursuing my bachelors in the US and currently have a 3.85 gpa and studying for the MCAT which I want to take next year as I'm applying in June but i'll be considered international when applying. Any tips?? anyone who's gotten in? what were your stats? PS: I've been told to consider applying to caribbean schools but I just don't think it'll align with my goals for my future and would prefer to get into an MD school in the US even though the chances are tough”
