“My old ten gallon metal stand from the mid-90s. It held several aquariums without issue in the years we had it when I was a kid, never noticed the wobble until I prepared for a new tank. It turns out the right front leg is uneven. I put it on a hard surface on top of the carpet…”

“Already got the measurements, I'm asking the seller for the weight limit if they have it, but I just wanted to ask for some opinions on it from experienced fish-keepers. 20gallon high = abt 220-250lbs”

Multiple aquarium hobbyists are seeking reassurance that their stands can safely support the weight of filled aquariums, particularly larger sizes like 20-gallon longs. This indicates a concern about structural integrity and potential damage to both the tank and the stand.

“I got this dresser(?) Second-hand yesterday, and have been fixing it for my 54 liter (about 15 gal) aquarium. I'll be taking the legs off of this dresser so that the whole bottom is level. My dad also bought some metal supports that we'll be screwing to the inside, so is there a way that this will hold a 54 liter aquarium, if I place it so that both ends of the aquarium sit on the wooden supports (like in the middle for example)? submitted by /u/Asexually_Freaky [link]”

“Came across this table for $50 on facebook marketplace and personally it looks nice but sturdy enough to hold 700 pounds of water? I’m not too sure… What do you think?! Listing description: 24 1/2 " tall x 4 foot long x 30 3/4 wide with bottom shelf I also want to mention iv got a bunch of extra wood from my previous 55 gallon stand that I could try adding as support just wouldn’t match color wise 😂 I also messaged the seller about what kind of wood it is, what the intended purpose of the”

“Looking for something that can hold both my 10 gallon and 13 gallon tanks on top and was wondering if this would be sturdy enough for it. It's made of solid wood so thinking it should be able to hold up pretty well but open to everyone's opinions. submitted by /u/Diarmadhrei [link] [comments]”

“Im getting a 20 gallon 60cm tank. Which of these 2 stands would you trust (if at all)? The one without a weight rating is supposedly made out of pine wood. The other one's image says it takes 400kg but the name says 200kg. Theyre both about 20 usd from china. submitted by /u/tanjironofamily [link] [comments]”

“I’ve kept 10 gallon tanks for a few years now and I’m looking to upgrade in size, but I wanna make sure I have a stand that’ll support it. I currently have this stand for my 10 gallon, it says it can hold a 29 gallon (looking at the aqueon 29 gallon kit) but I just don’t know if I trust it. If this stand isn’t sturdy enough, any recommendations? I also have had two 10-gallons on my dresser in my bedroom, would that be strong enough to hold the 29 gallon with everything in it? Thanks! submi”

“I am wondering if my tank stand for my 75 gallon aquarium is stable. I bought it off facebook marketplace awhile ago. I am just wondering if I should add more support to it or not, as it looks like they built it themselves. I'm planning to add around an inch of sand as well, so I don't want to add extra weight until I'm sure it's okay. submitted by /u/Hopeful_Piano_9027 [link] [comments]”

“My old ten gallon metal stand from the mid-90s. It held several aquariums without issue in the years we had it when I was a kid, never noticed the wobble until I prepared for a new tank. It turns out the right front leg is uneven. I put it on a hard surface on top of the carpet so that I could easily slide something under the uneven leg. This video is after I put a coaster under it. As you can see there's still a slight wobble, however it only happens when I move the upper part. This is also”

“This is a 70 gallon fish tank with a custom solid wood stand that i was considering picking up but the fact that it’s on LEGS is kind of scaring me since i feel a single snap would ruin absolutely everything. “i currently have a 10 gallon on it with pvc film underneath so water doesn’t get on the “wood”. i’ve had the 10 gallon on it for a year and a half and it’s been fine so far. i didn’t want to jump into getting anything right away because if it’s obviously not safe i’m not going to upgrade. would i be able to reinforce it somehow?? and if so, how would i go about that? also i’m asking because from what ive researched some people say it’ll be fine and some people say absolutely not so please let me”

“I got this fluval roma 125 stand for my 64l tank (as i dont trust the amazon one its on currently😵‍💫) the stand is meant to be for 125l so in theory should be good but the fact that theres not a beam in the middle makes me weary of bowing anyway. Should i get cabinet jacks or a similar easy fix for extra support in the middle or am i being paranoid? submitted by /u/xlaura04 [link] [comments]”

“Good afternoon. I was wondering if anyone has any experience with this style of aquarium stand? First hand experience preferred, but also taking recommendations. This particular one is from Wayfair but I see them all over the Internet. Metal stand with MDF on the outside. I am in need of a new 125 stand, and want to avoid the all MDF which is what I currently have. It made it 6 years but some water damage has caused warping. Yes I am aware I can build one out of wood, but I don't have the ti”

“I am brand new to fish tanking. This is my new 22 gallon rimless tank. I have a stand here that is 55 inches long. It has a steel frame but the top is P2 board, and the tank rests inside of the width of the metal frame. My rimless tank is 35.5 inches long and centered on the board and it is resting on an aquarium mat. I recently discovered with a level that my stand is sagging in the middle. About 3/16th of an inch at the worst (center) spot. The sag is distributed evenly. Here is a description”

“Bought this years ago off marketplace with a 55 gallon. Anyone know if this will hold a 75? It looks very similar to a stand from Petsmart/Petco but they don’t sell it in stores anymore. TIA🍻 submitted by /u/SurpriseStreet816 [link] [comments]”

“I purchased this shelf to replace my current inconvenient setup, but I have always been someone who leans on the side of caution with my tank stands and rarely can get myself to trust things that aren't 3 inch thick solid wood pieces or cinder blocks so i always end up dealing with huge chunky furniture that takes up so much space. I have a 20 gallon now and was thinking of getting another but theres no center brace on the longer shelf sides and Im worried about the weight causing the shelf”

“So I want to set up this hello reef tank I got off my friend, and I have this old aquarium stand from top fin that is supposed to hold up to 37 gallons. But I’m worried about how I would properly distribute the weight? Should I just place it in the middle? Or not worry about it? Also ignore all my junk lol. The tank on the bottom is a sling Mexican red knee that’s why she’s in a smaller 6 gallon right now. submitted by /u/Oofersimmacure [link] [comments]”

“The Stands width is 12 1/8 and the tank width 12 5/8. Well inner part of the rim is about 11 3/4, idk if thats okay to have that much over hang. submitted by /u/Battlestorm115 [link] [comments]”

“I bought this stand however when you place the tank on the front overhang slightly, should I centre the tank on the stand or leave it with an overhang. Most of the hard scape, rocks and wood will be at the back so I guess most of the weight will be at the back. I know overhangs can be ok. I’m hoping that because it is not rimless and has a plastic bottom it will be fine? Could I buy another piece of wood to place on top that is the correct dimensions of the base of the tank? submitted by &”

“Hi there, I am new to the hobby and bought this tank second hand. After placing it and filling it I came across some information that warned me the side table I’m currently using is unsafe. I can’t find a stand that is tall not wide to accommodate this tanks shape. A new fear has been unlocked that this stand could give on me. It’s metal with a wood top. Any help is greatly appreciated. “Hello I have a 20 gallon I recently bought and its my first aquarium I don't have many places to put it but the spot I think works best is this table. Im wondering if this table is good enough to hold my tank, some people I know have said it will be fine but I'm not sure. The table feels really sturdy and thick but Im no expert. Let me know what you think don't be afraid to call me a idiot for thinking it can hold I honestly have no clue. By eye it looks fine to me but I’m no expert”
