“Anyone else’s 7 month old just… not napping? My guy will be 7 months next week and the past few days he has averaged an HOUR total of nap time daily. 10 hours of overnight sleep. I’m at a loss. Taking two 25 minute naps and a 15 minute catnap. I’ve been trying to move him to a…”

“My 8 week old struggles to be set down awake at all. Not in a swing, play mat, bouncer. I’m just wondering if this is normal or if something could be wrong? I don’t mind snuggling with him all day but I am struggling to do any enrichment with him. If he’s not eating or sleeping…”

Parents are struggling to get their babies to nap during the day, particularly around 6-8 weeks old. This leads to parental exhaustion and concerns about insufficient sleep for the infant. Solutions often involve trial and error with feeding schedules and soothing techniques.

“I’m just wondering if my child is average. She’s on one nap a day 12:30pm (been pushing it to 1pm lately) and her cut off is 2:45pm because of bedtime. Often times napping 1h 20m to 2h. submitted by /u/RLLNNE [link] [comments]”

“My 2 month old got her first vaccines today and of course she’s feeling it now. She’s fussy and very sleepy. Just wants to be held so she can sleep. Which is fine, I don’t mind doing that if it weren’t for my 19 month old. She needs me too. I tried baby wearing but my back is killing me after a few hours of doing it. So I’ve resorted putting Ms. Rachel on. She’s maybe watched about 1.5-2 hours of it so far (of course split up). But I don’t think this will be the end of Ms. Rachel today so she’ll”

“My five month old has been sick on and off for a month and I'm still torn on whether or not to cap naps to feed him or if I should let him sleep through his meal times. I know its important to keep his hydrated and fed, but sleep is also important. What is everyone else doing? submitted by /u/Suspicious_Box_4898 [link] [comments]”

“Baby has been fighting nap and sleep yesterday and today. It’s so damn tiring. On top of that, he’s having a serious bout of diarrhea. First doctor said it’s stomach flu, next doctor said it’s sensitive stomach and made us put him on rice water which baby strongly rejects, and now we’re on soy milk powder to see if he still poops. And teething too!! And then now, it’s no sleep! He’s been up 6 hours since he woke up and doesn’t want to sleep no matter how we try rocking him, patting him in a dark”

“My 14 week old sleeps great at night, but during the day, she’s really odd. She’ll nap 2 hours, only wake because I wake her, and then she’ll wanna go right back to sleep. I have to work hard to wake her up for her wake window. When she goes back down, she’ll max out her 2 hours again and she’s pretty much like this till 2pm, basically wanting to be asleep. Then she’ll suddenly NOT want to sleep. At her next nap time I’ll do anything I can to get her to sleep and she’ll typically wake after 15-3”

“My son is 13 weeks old and I am hoping to start working with him on laying him down for bed drowsy but awake. He does a fantastic job going down after a bottle, but I’d like to work on him going down without the bottle every time to fall asleep. Any tips on how to go about this? I tried once today and failed miserably. I even try rocking him and it didn’t work, he just really wants milk to fall asleep. submitted by /u/Hungry-Mix-283 [link] [comments]”

“Hello! My baby is 6 weeks Friday and he is extra sleepy today. We have been waking him for feedings, he eats for 10 minutes then sleeps again. Is this normal? Getting concerned because he usually finishes his food and stays awake for a good window. Thank you submitted by /u/Appropriate-Sea-1802 [link] [comments]”

She’s very calm, and I actually love having her sleep on my chest while I watch a show or work on my computer. The problem is nighttime, when we really need her to sleep in her bassinet. My husband and I take turns holding her, so we’re each getting around 5–6 hours of sleep per night, which honestly isn’t terrible. But sometimes I only get around 4 hours if”

“My 8-month-old has been on 2 naps for about a month. We’ve had some nap issues on and off, but Nap 1 is finally going well — about a 2h55–3h wake window gives us a 1h15+ nap. Now Nap 2 keeps ending around 40 minutes. We tried a 2h56 WW and got a 39-minute nap, and a 3h19 WW and got a 40-minute nap. He woke tired and cranky after both and wouldn’t resettle. The short Nap 2 also keeps pushing bedtime to around 6 PM or earlier, so we’re getting stuck in a cycle of early bedtime → barely making it t”

“LO, is 10 weeks old. He’s always been a great napper, usually would take 3 a day. He sleeps in his bassinet at night from 9pm until 3:30am, feed, change, & back to sleep until 7-7:30. Over the week he’s decided daytime sleep is not it anymore. He will be so overtired, beet red screaming but not fall asleep for longer than 10 minutes for a contact nap, and immediately wakes up when put down. The only way I can get him to take a decent nap is if I lay down in our big bed with him and nurse to”

“My baby’s almost 3 months old and up until this point was taking pretty good naps. The past week or so has been a mess. He sleeps for literally 5-10 minutes and he’s back awake. I don’t know what to do. submitted by /u/SandwichDependent199 [link] [comments]”

“My sweet boy is eight weeks old and lately he just does not want to sleep during the day. Last night he slept from about 11pm to maybe 10 AM pretty consistently he woke up twice to feed and went straight back to bed. That is very nice, Don’t get me wrong however not napping All day long is a little bit concerning. It’s currently 830 at night and he’s only really slept one hour today . He has slept maybe 20 minute increments 2-3 times but will soon wake up soon after I try everything. I try conta”

“Hey So this happened after his 45 mins nap, we gave him 120 ml of pumped milk and thought that would be enough. He was unsettled…. And fussy… and we tried to calm him down by trying different positions. Husband said «maybe he’s still hungry … after 120 ml? Gave him the breast and he was calm for 5 mins and then the fussiness started again (we know it’s not colic) Is it normal for a 1 month old to be up for 2 hours 22 minutes? Ong it was crazy … guess he was overstimulated. What are we doing wron”

“My 15 week LO has somewhat recently gone backwards with naps. For context, the first 4 weeks he was all contact naps, and then we slowly started trying independent crib naps as he got older, and he did great. Then, around 9/10 weeks he would go down for naps easily, but wake after a sleep cycle (30/45 minutes) and need help extending the nap often with contact napping or rocking. At 12 weeks, he basically needs rocked to sleep, can sleep independently for like 20 minutes (sometimes) and then nee”

“our baby is 8 week 1 day. very hard to put to nap during day time since around 6 weeks. yesterday she maybe only contact napped 1 hr in total. i feed her at 21:13 to 22:11 on and off a couple times (as she keep drifting to sleep) Finally put her down 22:20. Then we kind of had a break through. I woke up 4:50 am. She started moving and twisting a bit. But hasnt wake up. (not sure if she was just extremely tired and crashed?) my breast feels full and left one feel quite hard (but not awfully uncom”
