“I know others have posed this question but they’ve been pumping/breast feeding and my journey is a little different. I’m 3 days PP, I breastfed the first night after baby was born but wasn’t advised to switch breasts every 10/15 min so he was latched for an hoir… this led to…”
“Baby is 5.5 weeks but only breastfed on nipple shields for about 10 days. In this time hes dropped two centiles (we are on a feeding plan for this) My concern is that when he’s on the breast he just won’t suck. This has been issue from day one and why he was triple fed for a…”

“My baby turned three months last week. I got my period on Tuesday and the stomach bug on Saturday and my supply has taken a big hit. So much so that I don’t think my baby is getting enough to eat and it’s impacting his sleep. What do I do to get my supply back up? I’ve historically been somewhat of an over producer but I pumped tonight while my husband gave him a bottle and I only got 2.5 oz 😭😭 submitted by /u/Independent_Pie_4643 [link] [comments]”
“Hello! FTM of a 6 week old. Wondering what others experiences are with lactose overload and block feeding? I have been seeing a lactation specalist and they suspect we are dealing with lactose overload. I have a let down that sprays and have tried a range of things (letting some spray in a cloth, lay down feeding). I have now been trying block feeding to manage my oversupply and help with issues such as gas and frequent green poops. I feed from the same breast twice for two feeds for my blocks.”
“I will ask my pediatrician at the next appointment. If I am breastfeeding my baby, but he gets 1-2 formula bottles a day(mostly when dad has him and I don’t have enough breast milk stashed) is that enough vitamin k? TIA! EDIT: vitamin d, I’m two weeks pp I’m exhausted whoops submitted by /u/delicious922 [link] [comments]”
“I was prescribed Bactrim DS for an infection that I have. I noticed that my milk supply has decreased. At least it seems like it. Breast are noticably softer and I know that's not an indication but my baby is also transferring less. I'm hearing less swallowing early on in the session but he is still suckling. Baby is also having more frequent stools. He's gone from 1-2 poops to 5 poops today. Not diarrhea. I've checked in with pediatrician and OB but neither seem to think it'”

I’m 3 days PP, I breastfed the first night after baby was born but wasn’t advised to switch breasts every 10/15 min so he was latched for an hoir… this led to severely bruised bloody and chapped nipples. I took a break the 2nd day and supplemented with formula so he wasn’t hungry. The LC said to push through but the nipples we’re dark purple and incredibly painful so that’s why I’”
“Can anyone link some studies about breastfeeding vs formula. I think I will try and breastfeed for 3-4 months. But I want to know the pros and cons of both options. Especially if there are any studies relating to breast feeding for 1 month, 3 months 6 months ect. Or combo feeding. submitted by /u/melodylavender [link] [comments]”
“My baby is turning 3 months old in a few days, and I had been exclusively breastfeeding her. About 15 days ago, I was diagnosed with a UTI and had to take a 7-day course of antibiotics, during which I couldn't breastfeed. We started formula during this time, along with some stored breast milk. I continued pumping during the antibiotics, but not as frequently as I normally would. My supply actually stayed pretty good throughout the antibiotic course, but on the last day of the antibiotics it”
“(Sorry for the long text) I’m currently 37 weeks pregnant with my second baby, and I’m starting to get really worried about breastfeeding. With my first, I tried to collect colostrum before birth. I was only getting tiny amounts — maybe 5–10 ml at a time (roughly 0.17–0.34 oz), sometimes even less. At the time, I didn’t think too much of it. After she was born, though, breastfeeding became extremely difficult. My delivery was 32 hours long , including about 2 hours of active pushing . I had no e”
“I really need some support. My son is almost 12 weeks old, EBF. Born by C section so that could contribute to his guts being even more immature despite probiotics. I have a very bad ejection reflex (sprays everywhere) and a huge letdown (when I pump at night so my partner can bottle feed my breast milk to our son I stop at 180mL, it takes me just a few minutes). I’m not an oversupplyer. My son is gaining weight properly, no issues there. But whenever I breastfeed him, 60-70% of the time it’s har”
“Hello ftm, I’m 3 days pp, and from the hospital I have been using formula to feed but I have also been manually expressing when I can. I have only tried breast feeding once and she latched pretty good but I didn’t produce anything. So ever since she has been on formula. Ever since I got home she’s been on formula but i’ve also been expressing a lot more when stimulating through manual pump. I think I’m going the bottle feeding combo route and I was wondering if anyone had any advice. I’m not sur”
“Can anyone weigh in on this? I have read a slew of positive and negative effects from iron supplementation in predominantly breast-fed infants. The literature is peer reviewed and very misleading, saying that there are benefits and also negative effects observed in study results. submitted by /u/skycaliapple [link] [comments]”
“I got my period early on tbh I’d say when I was 2 months postpartum, my daughter is 3 1/2 months old. I’m supposed to get my period this weekend just curious if my supply is supposed to drop a few days before, during, or after? I can’t remember when I first got my period cause honestly she as fussy in general that week. Any tips advice?? To help my supply? Or will it go back after my period is done? submitted by /u/Unique-firsttimemom [link] [comments]”
“Hi!! Im 10 months pp and only nurse for my little guy’s morning nap and overnight…otherwise we use formula (Im a big under-supplier) and solid food. Zero sign of a period. If you combo fed, when did your period come back? submitted by /u/Formal-Ground-481 [link] [comments]”
“I‘m about to be on a round of antibiotics. My doctor recommended I take probiotics too. Should my breastfed one year old also be on probiotics while I’m on antibiotics, or just me taking probiotics is sufficient? Wanna look out for baby’s gut health! FTM here. Anyone have experience with this? submitted by /u/Bloomingbravely [link] [comments]”
“Baby is 5.5 weeks but only breastfed on nipple shields for about 10 days. In this time hes dropped two centiles (we are on a feeding plan for this) My concern is that when he’s on the breast he just won’t suck. This has been issue from day one and why he was triple fed for a while. Ive pumped like a maniac to get my supply up, but in this time hed lost the ability to latch so it’s nipple shields right now. When I’m feeding him unless I’m compressing Hes not feeding. Is this a problem? How on ear”
“Please help me understand what is normal and if introducing formula will help a bit? Baby is 19 days old, my third baby, I have EBFed last two kids with never introducing a bottle, so I thought I have it figured out. However, now I think maybe I just had two very easy babies. Slept three hour stretches early on, never really fussed or screamed too much, loved pacifier. This baby doesn't take pacifier, sleeps only one hour stretches and has a total scream party once a day, often around 9pm-12”
