“I am assuming it's a Moroccan berber but I have no knowledge of such things. I thought it was costume jewellery and just absolutely filthy(I gave it a little wipe inside with cotton bud and warm water and it polishes up silver). No distinct markings but where the bracelet meets(on one side) there are a row of random lines. Been sitting in a drawer. My nan and her husband found it when clearing out his parents home and gave it to me. It's beautiful and has so much detail. If anyone knows”

“Hi everyone! I just went to a local vintage jewelry store and bought sterling silver weddings bands for me and my fiancé. I bought myself a little band just so I can have it for everyday because the ring he got me is really precious and I’m so scared of losing any part of it. So I walked out and I noticed that the ring I got for myself doesn’t have a .925 stamp… should I be worried? It looks new too and the lady said she couldn’t polish it because it could damage the stone settings. submit”

“I found this in a bag of jewlery I purchased at an estate sale! Its a very large mens ring (I'm 6'3 with large hands and it fit very easily) and looks to be made of copper ot brass. It could most likely be a Memento Mori ring. There's a marking on the inside, 1890 Art Metal, which is or was a company that would create reproduction antique jewlery from authentic antique molds and dies they recovered in the 70's. From what I could gather the majority of the jewlery they produced wa”

“Hi all. Doing a cosplay and worked hard printing and sanding a lot on this hook. Applied gold which looked stunning. This mroning did a light covering of gloss and its gone from looking amazing to cheap plastic. Where have i gone wrong here?? I used 2k gloss which people suggest and its done this. What could i do to return that lovely gold finish and have it handleable? submitted by /u/SimonB830 [link] [comments]”

“I got this from a market for 50 pounds the man said it was sterling silver and he had about 5 of these rings i took the last one. I know nothing about rings he said it was very old i can’t remember what else he said. It’s got a bit of weight to it I’m not even sure of it’s real silver but it’s heavy has supposed patina and melts ice instantly becoming cold to the touch . submitted by /u/JacketUnfair4962 [link] [comments]”

“Just seeking opinions on this, bought from an op shop yesterday for a couple of dollars. I don’t know much about costume jewellery but I’m learning. On the clasp I can make out “MADE” and “ECHOSLO” so I think it’s possibly made in Czechoslovakia which ties in with Neiger brothers Egyptian revival pieces. “Now I'm pretty positive that this piece is fake The only thing I find odd is it's marked 14k Italy now I completely understand that that doesn't mean anything anyone can put a fake stamp on something I get that. I was told it was white gold that's why it looked that way. I tried to use an app that would scan and identify the object. However, a few of the times it mentions stainless steel with brass even though it's clearly not that well. At least the brass part because undern”

“Hello ! I would love to find a ring like those, that are really giving a princess/ tiara vibe, but every single one I find online is made of cheap metal or plastic. “Hello, I am not very knowledgeable about jewelry. I know that 925 is stamped on sterling silver and that gold comes in karats 4-24, but I assumed CZ stamped like this would mean Cubic Zirconia. Which I would never fault anyone for wearing in a nose or ear stud. or anywhere for that matter. But What gives? I am pretty sure they guaranteed this was a diamond, does CZ mean something else in this context or am I misreading it? https://preview.redd.it/thlcgrh7b7hh1.png?width=750&format=png&au”

“I’ll start by saying I have no idea if these are genuine pearls. I got them as a gift years ago, so they’re sentimental, but the clasp is just a base metal so I’m not sure about the pearl quality. I was looking into start an “Add A Pearl” necklace for my daughter, but they’re pretty costly and I’m crafty so I’m confident it’s something I can put together myself. I’ve done enough jewelry making to feel good about giving it a shit at least. I‘d love to use these since they’re sentimental and I nev”

“I found this company called “Jaded Design NYC” online but their rings look too good to be true and are so cheap compared to everything else on the market. The descriptions of some rings also say the sapphires are natural. Does anyone have any experience with this brand? Are they just AI generated images? “Bought this ring from a charity few years ago for £1. Just noticed the initials on the side, google image isn’t bringing anything up. I believe it’s just costume. It has 2 or 3 circles inside but not sure if they’re intentional, tried to take a picture but think it’s awful quality. Any ideas ? submitted by /u/Spiritual-Nature-105 [link] [comments]”

“I didn't think to see if there is a maker's mark but visual searches match up with rings from Kay jewelers. Now I need to know before I put a deposit down. “Hello. We are looking to have a fraternity ring made up in 925 sterling silver. We have already poked around Etsy and other sub reddits now reaching out here to see if you all have some favorite and good places. Most of the places I have found or saw make engagement rings. Not looking for that, just a ring that has the fraternal logo on it. We have the idea already, we just need a legit place. Thanks :) submitted by /u/MrPsyduck [link] [comments]”

“Asking because I’m considering having a sapphire ring made for me. I was considering a lab grown sapphire but I like the inclusions the natural sapphire’s have, also the lab grown ones seem too perfect to me you know? “I love costume jewelry, specifically CZ stones of all kinds. But I know Cz is on the softer side, somewhere around or below that of a sapphire's hardness, and can scratch over time and lose its luster. Is there anyway of restoring stones or preventing damage? I've heard you can paint them with clear nail polish but I couldn't find a good source for the claim and I thought I'd ask around before experimenting. I already try to store them with care and I don't wear any one piece”

“I bought some costume jewelry and i had heard that coating it with clear nail polish will make it long lasting but when i applied clear nail polish on the ring it formed a weird yellowish film on the ring and reduced its shine. Is there any other alternative for coating jewelry submitted by /u/Alert-Cabinet-2437 [link] [comments]”

“Just got married recently and have a gold wedding band, but I’m looking for a “beater” wedding band that I can wear to the gym without worrying about damaging it. I lift and use machines/cardio regularly, and I’m usually at the gym 1-2 times a day. I’ve also lost a few rings in the past, so ideally I’d like something I can just leave on without overthinking it. What would you recommend for a gym-friendly wedding band? “I’ve found this lovely sterling ring on second-hand market, and it's just so chunky and cute. Only thing is that the ring is about a size 8, and I’d like to wear it on my ring finger which is a size 6. I’m wondering if this could potentially be sized down to a 6, considering it's unusual shape. Does anybody know? submitted by /u/Seeweed25 [link] [comments]”

“$100/gram is the low end of retail, so you didn’t get taken to the cleaners by any means, and it really is a very well proportioned and well made piece of jewelry. I can definitely see why you were attracted to it, and congratulations on your new addition! Wear it in good health, and enjoy it to the fullest!”
