“I’m looking for bed recommendations to put in my dogs crate. She’s a rough chewer and recently started destroying her bed, like having way too much fun in her crate ripping apart her bed. For those who are going to say “just don’t put a bed in there” I have reason not to follow this route. I adopted her in January and her bed has been in her crate since then. She has not touched it until the past couple of weeks. She is on full rest per vet’s orders, so I think the combo of not feeling herself a”

“In the middle of the night about 4 weeks ago, my dog (a 4-year-old Italian Greyhound) started crying hysterically, biting at his stomach, and trying to hide. We immediately brought him to the emergency vet, since something was obviously wrong. They examined him, did blood work, and took X-rays, but nothing out of the ordinary came back. He was struggling to poop when we were walking him around the building and they saw fecal material on the X-rays, so the conclusion was he was a little constipat”

But recently has become very anxious at night time to the point of scratching at the door and accidents at night even after going out before bed. We have tried everything we can to make him more comfortable as he is our world and we hate seeing him so upset. This morning he was acting nauseous, pacing, drooling etc. I gave him some hydrogen peroxide and he managed to throw up a bunch of leaves, his breakfast and a bit of plastic from the crate. Probably about the size of a dime. He’s defiantly acting less worrisome but hes still drolling more than normal and cant get comfy. Is this normal after giving hydrogen peroxide? I gave him some”

“For background: I adopted my dog 3 years ago. When I adopted her, they told she was between 3 or 4 years old. When I reassigned her microchip to my name/address, it indicated to me that she was actually 5 years old. So I’m current day, she is between probably 6-8years old now. She is a pittie boxer mix I leave her alone at home while I’m at work for about 8hours a day. I take her on a morning walk before work, a walk after I get home from work (which is her longer walk) and another right before”

“I am house/dog-sitting for a family who will be gone for almost two weeks. Their dog is three-years-old and a big sweetheart. She is crate-trained, but every time I try to put her in the crate, she avoids it like the plague. I've been luring her into it with treats, but when I move away, she starts whining and barking. I took her out to go potty, but she kept doing it afterward. Looking it up, I think she might be having separation anxiety. I've never petsat a dog who is crate-trained be”

“I’m looking for experiences from anyone who has dealt with an adult dog suddenly developing frequent indoor urination despite retraining and a normal basic medical workup. “We adopted our LGD/Husky mix from the city shelter in February. He is 6 or 7 years old and was very sick. From everything we've gathered from the info the shelter had (he was surrendered by his owners family after the owner died) and some discoveries the vet made (his teeth were very telling) he's probably spent most of his life outside on a metal chain. Despite this, he has a great personality and our local obedience club has really done a lot to help us address his leash reactivity and”

“When we woke up in the morning, he never used to cry. We would wake up at 9 the latest (my husband often takes him on late 1/2 am walks because of his schedule). Now by 8:15/8:30 he’s crying/whining pretty bad everyday. Do we think it’s him needing to go to the bathroom?? Or that he just wants to be out of the crate? He doesn’t really cry/whine any other time. For some added context anytime he does this I give it about 5 minutes then take him out to the bathroom. Just wondering why the crying/wh”

“My dog will be 13 years old by December. Recently he started to have weird episodes of collapsing after being startled by sound or sudden movements. It was very isolated episodes at first so we can’t even capture the moment and send to vet. I described to his vet, he feels it sounds more behavioral than neurological. However, since yesterday, he is having a lot more episodes and we are able to capture those moments. What might have happened to him? It’s behavioral or neurological? What are the p”

“Looking for advice on anxiety/excitement related accidents Black Lab. Female. Age 6yr old. My dog is otherwise completely house trained, but she seems to have accidents when she gets anxious, excited, or overwhelmed. It doesn’t seem like she’s forgotten her house training, it seems more like she gets worked up and then pees. It doesn’t matter if we’re inside or outside. “Hello everyone, My fiancé and I recently moved to a new home back in July, and our dogs been fine and seemed to be enjoying the new place. We have a gated outdoor area for him to be outside and go to the bathroom. Our dog is 6 years old. We've had no issues up until a couple nights ago, where he wakes up around 12 and then refuses to sleep though out the night. He will pace the bed and whine, keeping us up. We would let him go outside multiple times and even take him on a walk in the middle”

“My 4 year old female Pomeranian has been acting weird since July. She's been generally more despondent, hiding in small crevices of the house, nibbling on sheets and pillows and drinking less. She has also become a pickier eater and has gained some weight. I wouldn't really classify her as lethargic since she's still enthusiastic to go on walks and eat treats, she just acts lazier than usual at home. She has an inguinal hernia that we're keeping monitored, but the vets have said”

He used to kennel very well, but has become more and more irritated about having to go in. Now this morning I could not kennel him at all. “My dog has major vet anxiety and reactivity. We do the pre-vet meds, muzzle, etc. She just hates it and is always so fearful. However, she’s seemed to do fine at places I’ve boarded her when I’m out of town (they do play sessions and even bathe her for me before I pick her up). At the boarder, they don’t have to muzzle her. I also recognize that boarding and vet visits are much different experiences, but she also does well with the bath and nail trims they do. My vet offers boarding and grooming”

My golden retriever is 8, she has suddenly started showing some huge behavior changes about 3 weeks ago and I'm at a loss. We have always crated her, since she was a puppy. “Hi! I have a 2 year old yorkie/pom mutt, she has pretty bad separation anxiety and has pretty much all of her life, mainly because she was in training as a service dog for the first year or so of her life and so went pretty much everywhere with me, and i failed to put the proper safeguards in place to prevent her developing separation anxiety. She was crate trained as a puppy, although not amazingly, but as soon as she stopped tearing things up she started sleeping with me and gradually stopped”
