“My kid’s bathroom is tiny and I cannot seem to beat this lingering pee smell near the toilet. I swear I have tried everything I can think off. It looks clean, it feels clean, but then I bend down to pick something off the floor and I catch a whiff of urine in the freshly cleaned…”

“I don’t remember it ever smelling this bad in apartments etc. I got really concerned after coming home from a 2 week vacation at the end of August (he was staying with a sibling), and my house smelled so bad like dog. I was thinking……”
“We have a one story house. So everything happens all on one floor. We have tile and a few 5x7 rugs here and there. We also have two dogs. Our house smells like we have 5 dogs! I mop and vacuum every few days. What can I do to make the doggy smell go away? We also have a large Air purifier. Our walls are painted matte so I’m not sure if I can clean the walls. We also have new leather sofas. Why can I not get rid of the odor? Any advice on machines, diffusers, cleaners or anything is greatly appre”
“Our house doesn’t have a smell of “dirty” but it constantly smells stale. We have professional house keepers that come twice a month and do a full clean. Floors, kitchen, bathrooms, dust, sweep, and mop. I sweep and mop daily. We never leave dirty dishes out, I run the dishwasher every other day. I clean the baseboards weekly. Clean the bathrooms twice a week. Trash is taken out daily and I clean the trash can when I take it out. There is never anything dirty left out. Mostly just messes made by”

It looks clean, it feels clean, but then I bend down to pick something off the floor and I catch a whiff of urine in the freshly cleaned bathroom. It’s driving me crazy. I’m deep cleaning the toilet and floors like 3 times a week right now and I feel like I’m losing my mind. submitted by /u/broomstick88 [link] [comments]”
“Hello! My husband and I recently purchased a new home (10 years old), ranch, about 1900 sqft. It’s a cute, quaint home and was reasonably well-maintained. One issue is that the previous owners had three large dogs and the house smells in general like dog. Not dog accidents, but “DOGS LIVED HERE!” The smell is only on the main level as they didn’t let the dogs downstairs. The only carpet on the main level is primary bedroom and closet. The rest of it is in the basement. We are getting it all (bes”
“helppppp! no matter what I do, the floor develops a funky, vinegar, foot smell. Main sources of bacteria/dirt are a large dog that spends about 40% of her time in the backyard, a very sweaty and greasy husband, and then the general walking into the home. I use the RYOBY spinning brush with some dawn and lysol. I then vacuum all the suds with a shop vac and finish with several rounds of clean water to remove the cleaning solution. My last pass is with boiling water, to kill bacteria. This whole p”
“It's not diarrhea. It's the perfect consistency to look fine until I go to pick it up an it'll smear and stink. Normally I clean with fabulso and dawn (yes I scrub the floor with dawn and wipe it down) but it's not working this time. It mostly smears and if it DOES get it up I still have to mop 4 or 5 times to get rid of the smell. It smells like poop and fruit otherwise. I tried pinesol scented but they had the same results. It's so small if a space vinegar stinks up the hou”
“What is your fool proof go to to keep your house smelling delicious? I used to be a wax/candle girl and I would mop a couple times a week to get the fresh clean smell in the house. But I have a 7mo old and we don’t do candles for long periods of time anymore and if I have time to really mop with more than a swifer (which I do everyday) it’s maybe once every other week. Its been really really hot this summer so all with the air conditioning on and windows closed for weeks it just and a dog in the”
“My parents stayed with us for three days with their lab mix and now my house smells like dog. Fur is everywhere. He has anxiety issues so he only goes in the dog pads. The second you open the door, you smell it. Any advice to getting my house smelling better and dog hair removed? submitted by /u/housespecialdelight [link] [comments]”
“Between two elderly dogs and a toddler I’m constantly cleaning wee out of the carpet. We have the small bissell spot cleaner for wees as they happen and then a larger carpet cleaner for when the carpets need a shampoo (Bissell revolution pet machine). I’ve gone over our carpets with the larger machine using the product in photo. I’ve done a double wash of the carpet, then air dried with windows open. Wait for them to dry, then after a day or two the wee smell is noticeable again. I’ve repeated t”
“I have tiles, textured, porus tiles, all around the toilet area, walls and floor. The area gets spritzed with pee on a regular basis. It smells like pee even after cleaning. I’ve cleaned the area with bleach bathroom spray. We had cleaners clean it. Nothing works. Is there a magic spray that will fix this? Or is it just scented candles for life for us? submitted by /u/Beautiful-Oil-8 [link] [comments]”
“We moved into a house that clearly had cats in it prior to us. I have shampooed all the carpets, moped, washed the walls, etc. but still when I go out of town for a few days and come back there is a strong odor of cat box. I'm not sure what else to do. submitted by /u/Satan_With_Lashes [link] [comments]”

“It smells like kitchen garbage juice🙁, not very strong. You will only notice it if you suddenly open the bathroom door, walk in and intentionally sniff. I cleaned the floor(wipe the floor until the mop's water is clear and smells good), bath mat, bath curtain, the tub, bathroom door and toilet. It's a 5 yo apartment and I've only lived here for a month. I noticed the smell from about day20. My tub is not clogged. I'm female so no urine splatter problem. I shower everyday but I d”
“I lost my ability to smell a few years ago. I’m always afraid my home is going to smell bad without knowing it. What are your tips for keeping a home smelling fresh? What are some commonly overlooked odor causes that I should clean more often? Thanks! submitted by /u/Anxious_Koala6698 [link] [comments]”
“My husband and I just bought our first home. It’s beautiful inside but the previous owners had two Great Danes. Yesterday I spent hours shampooing all the carpets in the living room, bedrooms, and staircase with an enzyme carpet cleaner, wiped everything down, ran an ozone machine for a total of about 4 hours, sprayed carpets with Odoban (once they were dry) and it still smells like dog. I feel like I’ve done all the things! We plan on having the ducts and vents cleaned next week, could this be”
“We just moved and I had an area rug rolled up from our old house. Once I unrolled it I felt like the smell of dog hit me in the face. Not urine but just that scent of a dog. I’m running an air purifier and of course vaccumed it like crazy but it’s still lingering. Is there a good spray or some other kind of product you use that really helps with that and doesn’t just cover it up temporarily? submitted by /u/Substantial-Ask2526 [link] [comments]”
“I never used to pay much attention to the small areas around my bathroom sink. I would clean the main surfaces but ignore the tiny corners and edges where dust, hair and other small debris could collect. Recently I started doing a quick check around the sink after getting ready in the morning. It only takes a minute to wipe away anything left behind, but it makes the whole bathroom feel much cleaner. I realized that keeping a bathroom clean is not always about doing big deep cleans. Sometimes sm”
