YouTube Users Frustrated by UI Changes

Users are experiencing jarring and unwelcome changes to YouTube's user interface, including enlarged thumbnails, altered video layouts, and visual distortions. These changes negatively impact usability and aesthetics, often appearing inconsistently across accounts or browsers, leading to frustration and a desire to revert to previous versions.

My subscribed channels overlap my home page, any reason for what might cause this? I have a yt shorts blocker extension and turned that off but it didn't help submitted by /u/Falsified_Goldfish [link] [comments]

r/youtube users when youtube does literally anything with their ui:

I used to be able to move the subtitles up and they would stay there like in the second photo. But when I resume the video, the subtitles fall back to the very bottom like in the first photo. Is there a way to fix this? This is on desktop. submitted by /u/kai30konic [link] [comments]

Hello ! I would like to know if i can change the scales of the videos of the menu because i think its toi big for me and to also re activate icons were we can choose between the most popular, the oldest videos and the most récent. Thank you all sorry for the poor grammar and the long text submitted by /u/Serious-Error1481 [link] [comments]

r/youtube3d ago

It seems that the latest update changed video properties from being thumbnails to a text link. Gallery views that use video properties are also broken and display as blank. When I tap on the name of the video, I'm taken to a new browser page instead of playing the video in the app Anyone else notice this? My usecases got nuked because of this change. Currently looking for a way to rollback the update submitted by /u/better__ideas [link] [comments]

Is anybody else having the same new bookmark style? I hate it. It’s disproportionate / it takes up so much space. Is there any settings to go back to the previous style? submitted by /u/younuzi [link] [comments]

Being able to preview/watch full videos with full use of the scrubber (video time bar) whilst being able to turn on/off captions and sound straight from the homepage was a very useful and handy feature. In the last couple of weeks that feature has just been removed without any notification and all the videos on the homepage just play muted with captions forced on, you can't scrub through them anymore. What gives? Will it come back? submitted by /u/brotherofgurnip [link] [co

r/youtube4d ago

They need something for their SWEs to do I guess. They should maybe delegate the SWEs who work on trivial feature changes like this to the AI-slop-filtering team

Yeah they may push weekly or biweekly updates to production, and I guess this is the risk of doing so.

Like the old one looked so clean & nice, why did they have to minimize EVERYTHING, when literally they could have just kept it and just added the colored dynamic blur effects thingys. Why do they have to FIX everything that's NOT broken?! submitted by /u/ThomasNet1st [link] [comments]

r/youtube5d ago

Normally the channel name and the title would be on top of the video. However, mine glitched and moved it to the side which is unironically better since I can now fully see the video submitted by /u/Tight_Grapefruit5280 [link] [comments]

r/youtube5d ago

I wish I could upload an image to show my exact situation, but I uploaded a new version of my channel logo, and now there's a 1px grey border around the logo / image. The logo is in the shape of a circle and there's some transparency involved, so I don't know how that affects things. Probably some sort of compression issue. Is there a trick to avoiding that weird logo border? submitted by /u/Neutraali [link] [comments]

Could you attach an image? I'm really lost. :(

reddit.com5d ago

I wanted to keep it short so I edited an image about the topic, this isn't about any specific channel. This somewhat new thing has been a forced change that I think of as a very divisive and intrusively added thing that isn't even helpful for anyone, including youtubers. I do not enjoy any sight of membership locked videos that appear on my homepage nor the people that religiously make it. I don't understand why this thing wasn't separated into another application, mode, website

r/youtube5d ago

wtf is this nonsense that suddenly just appear, it keeps sticking out like a sore thumb in the bottom left corner of the screen submitted by /u/Takumi1983 [link] [comments]

YouTube has removed at his shorts alle the like buttons and turned them into harts. So now it looks like any other platform. I’m not sure if anyone already posted it. submitted by /u/Ambitious_Month_5399 [link] [comments]

r/youtube5d ago

Did they change it? Wasn't it a thumb or Am I just going insane? submitted by /u/MuiKoiFish [link] [comments]

r/youtube6d ago

I lack screenshots or gigs, but in cat videos the like button can become a cat face, and for dog videos it becomes a paw. Also the like button is replaced with a heart submitted by /u/IAmABurnerAcc [link] [comments]

r/youtube6d ago

What I mean by this is by having a switch in settings to make shorts unviewable from the home page or by suggestion View Poll submitted by /u/ExtremePerformance70 [link] [comments]

r/youtube6d ago

I got an idea for customization, what if, we could have different styles for YouTube's UI? It could mimic the old UI's, such as in the 2000s, we could also create custom backgrounds and custom colors. I think it would be a neat feature for people who like changing stuff around, like me. submitted by /u/Fritzhateshislife [link] [comments]

It makes it hard to explain without a photo, but i just finished a video and was adding the timetable ready to post it and it keeps flipping the thumbnail upside down when I click save. It goes on correctly, then when I save, it flips the photo. submitted by /u/Impressive-Meat-2613 [link] [comments]

I don't know if I'm the only one who gets those, but suddenly every video gets those Ai timestamps and it's completely bad, first of all it completely messes up everything, a video for example will talk about a specific character in Pokémon Legends ZA or something, the ai timestamp says some stuff like "The Pokémon Power problem" when it's really about the problem about character writing, why did they add this, can it be removed?? submitted by /u/Ax0dy_ [lin

r/youtube7d ago

Lower your sarcasm jackass i just posted this because this specific short had a very old ui of youtube shorts but other shorts had the new one like normal so i found it unique

r/youtube7d ago

It's still around 7 videos on my screen for me. I hope they're not planning another change

r/youtube7d ago

Damn this is getting too simple . Like modern doesnt mean more simplicity .

r/youtube7d ago

The feed on the YouTube website on the Brave browser I use suddenly looks totally different. It’s got less suggestions and more shorts and less video suggestions over all. the layout itself is different too. It looks rounder or something, and almost more cluttered, like with more news and gaming suggestions and what not. It’s sort of hard to describe and is not very fun to use. Has anyone else noticed this? submitted by /u/Scurster [link] [comments]

r/youtube7d ago

No wonder we have 1000+ videos in our Watch Later lists when the default controls are terrible and the page is 60% empty space. Now I can remove dozens of videos in just a few seconds. The improvement is substantial. Also, by default, it redirects from homepage to Watch Later list. You can disable it, but it's better to treat it as your real homepage now if you want to stop searching for more videos. submitted by /u/LimiDrain [link] [comments]

Hi I've been making thumbnails using various programs for years. However today is the first time I have ever seen this - when I choose an image to upload as the thumbnail in YouTube Studio it's adding an off-centre white border around it. I was making PNG thumbnails just two days ago in Inkscape which worked fine and still look fine on YouTube. Today I am literally using the same coloured square but changing the image inside it. The size is the same as the others but it keeps adding this

r/NewTubers7d ago

I’ve had this idea for a while now but idk if anyone else would like it. I was thinking it’d be a cool idea if you could edit what buttons are on the bottom of YouTube, like if you don’t want the shorts button because you press it on accident too often you could remove it from the bottom. Or maybe you could pin a specific channel to the bottom so you don’t have to search through your subscribers’ list. Let me know your thoughts, I’m typing this on a phone and my grammar is awful so plz be nice i

I just updated my app and this happened? The thumbnails are absolutely massive, and it’s even worse on my iPad. How do I change it to smaller thumbnails? One video takes up my whole screen on my iPad… Thanks! submitted by /u/FreePossession9590 [link] [comments]

I had that for a second, then it went away. Just made scrolling that much slower and difficult. Hated it.

There's a YT video with a bad aspect ratio (it's from TV, likely) and I would like to embed it in my site, but stretched horizontally a bit so that viewers see the correct aspect ratio. I use basic HTML and CSS. Is that possible? submitted by /u/Dan13l_N [link] [comments]

A few weeks ago, a UI update happened to pc version of YouTube and i feel like looking messages on my dad phones. This is my first time visiting this subreddit just to complain about YouTube replacing the thumbs up with the heart, and that says a lot about how much I dislike this. The thumbs up is not just a symbol they've used for years, it's their brand, culture and identity! I really hate this, they need to stop and I really hope they revert

If channel name is slightly too long, I no longer see the upload date without actually clicking on the video. This is so annoying, espeacially when I want to watch Tech Stuff. Videos regarding "Latest tech news" are useless, when they are 3 years old, but no way to find out without clicking on the dam
