“Had my 20 week anomaly scan today and everything showed up fine apart from the femur and humerus which both measured at the 1st percentile :( I am booked with a consultant in a few days but I can't stop overthinking if my baby has dwarfism now, or another abnormality. The…”
“Curious if anyone else has ever had this happen. I’m 15 weeks right now and my doctor told me today that we are scheduling my anatomy scan (being done at 22 weeks) with maternal fetal medicine because of the medication that I’m taking - 20 mg of Prozac. I’m confused because this…”
“Hi all, I'd love to hear some reassuring stories. I just had my 20 week anatomy scan. Baby looks great! They need some additional imaging, but only because of her position, not because they saw anything concerning. I go back in 2 weeks. I'd love to hear some reassuring stories…”

“Just had my 20 week scan and baby is 30th percentile with a 4.7 percentile nasal bone but the NIPT we got earlier in pregnancy was completely normal with no concerns. I’m just feeling really stressed, is he going to be too small? Is there risk of Down syndrome still? Feeling all of the emotions right now as a first time mom and not sure what to do or if I should be as scared as I feel Any advice on what to do for this first time mom would be amazing, thank you! submitted by /u/thegup”

They need some additional imaging, but only because of her position, not because they saw anything concerning. I go back in 2 weeks. I'd love to hear some reassuring stories from women who had placenta previa at 20 weeks. Did yours migrate? If it didn't, did you have a healthy c-section birth? My placenta is covering the cervix (I believe it's considered "complete" be”
“Hi! I (30, F) 20 weeks pregnant with my first and my baby boy was found to have an isolated ARSA (aberrant right subclavian artery) at the anatomy scan. This could be just a normal variation BUT it is also a soft marker for a variety of chromosome issues. Everything else looked completely normal with no other soft markers, and my NIPT was negative/low risk. I’m getting more extensive genetic bloodwork done now, but I also tentatively have an amnio scheduled for next week. I keep going back and f”
“I did the anatomy scan rest everything was fine but in the summary they mentioned nasal bone smaller than expected but the detailed section underneath nasal bone was mentioned NAD and the ultrasound tech said to me in the end that doctor is happy with the pictures and didn’t mention this. I had low risk nipt results. I am so worried. Me and my husband we both are south east asians. If anyone has the similar experience, i would love to hear because i am so anxious all the time. submitted by”
“Had my 20 week ultrasound yesterday and was told we are having a boy (yay)! However I was also told that I have a marginal placenta (had one when I was pregnant with my daughter, not a huge concern) and a soft marker for an EIF. My doctor and US tech were both very blunt and matter of fact about everything so I think their busy-ness and preoccupation with their day and straightforward personalities didn’t really help comfort me, but I am totally freaking out over here. The doctor said she didn’t”
“Hello! I’m not sure if this is the right place to ask, but my obgyn has done all of my ultrasounds so far. I asked the office and she will also be doing my anatomy scan. Does anyone know if this is something to be concerned about? It is a highly recommend office but I’m unsure if that’s a red flag that they don’t have a tech. ChatGPT said it’s nothing to be concerted about (lol) but I’d love some other opinions. TYIA! submitted by /u/Holiday_Employer_580 [link] [comments]”
“I am a first time mom and had my anatomy scan on Tuesday and was told everything looked great until I asked for a copy of the anatomy report. I read the report and it was noted that my baby has mild pyelectasis of his left kidney. It measured at 4.6 mm. I was and still am very upset this was not brought up during the appointment to discuss with my doctor. When I was able to speak with my doctor she let me know this was just one soft marker for Down Syndrome and was not recommending any additiona”
“So I have an anterior placenta and am a little on the chubby side. My NT scan had limited visibility but the sonographer got all the pics and measurements needed so it was fine. Today was my anatomy scan and more than anything I’ve been dying to know the gender of baby so we can start planning and buying things accordingly. I skipped on the NIPT because I didn’t wanna pay extra. It’s not a HUGE deal but I’m 19w5d today and I’ve been so anxious to find out. Hubby took a day off (his work is not a”
“Preface by saying I never did bloods for gender. I had my anatomy scan at 22 weeks and was told girl however I wasn’t shown in detail on the ultrasound and no image was taken for me to obsess over to confirm. My husband believed it right away so I took his optimism and we bought lots of girl clothes. Don’t worry - the story ends well! Today at 28 weeks I had a 4D elective bonding scan and clear as day we see vagina. This time it was undoubtable. I said bluntly ‘that’s a vag if I’ve ever seen one”

I’m 15 weeks right now and my doctor told me today that we are scheduling my anatomy scan (being done at 22 weeks) with maternal fetal medicine because of the medication that I’m taking - 20 mg of Prozac. I’m confused because this medicine has been ok’d by my psychiatrist while I’m pregnant but my doctor has always been kind of weird about it and wants to talk to my psychiatrist. Has anyone else experienced this? I know so many people that take Pr”
“Just finished the anatomy scan. All the bits were there but she’s measuring below 1% in most measurements. During the scan I wasn’t so concerned as my son was Interuterine growth restricted (IUGR) and below 1% until he was about 1 year but, he didn’t appear small until about 30 weeks gestation. I was referred to MFM to discuss. Apparently when they’re this tiny at such an early part of preg it is more severe than later on “bc most babies grow in utero at just about exactly the same rate until ab”
“I’ve had two kids already. The first being high risk due to a two vessel umbilical cord. Born healthy. And also a stillbirth at 29 weeks after a LONG list of complications that had us in ultrasounds every week since day one. I’m now pregnant with a perfectly healthy boy. 26 weeks to be exact, and I’m a bit concerned about my ob. This is the same place I went for my first daughter. I went elsewhere for my second due to overbooking but didn’t want to go back to that office after everything. Return”
“For an isolated bilateral right and left intrahepatic umbilical vein in an anatomy scan, the doctor who reviewed my scan did not say I needed to do a fetal echocardiogram. Is that what happened for any of you? submitted by /u/Bubblylionpup [link] [comments]”
“Hi everyone, We’re looking for anyone’s experience with a similar situation. I’m currently 13 weeks pregnant with our second baby. Everything has been totally typical so far - we had a low risk nipt and found out it’s a girl. We also did a full carrier screening with our son and had no overlapping conditions. Today at our detailed anatomy scan (I’m 37 so standard at my OB) we were told there is high likelihood for a structural heart anomaly. Everything else looked completely normal and baby was”
“We’ve just come back from our 12 week scan. We were told initially everything was fine, babies measuring 13 weeks with a steady heartbeat. As we were leaving the hospital, we got a phone call from the sonographer asking if I had experienced any bleeding during my pregnancy as he was able to pick up some white fluid or tissue on the ultrasound. I haven’t really experienced any bleeding or spotting. I did a single brownish wipe about a fortnight ago, but I didn’t think it was even heavy enough to”
“What was supposed to be an exciting day turned into the worst day of my life. We went in for an anatomy scan yesterday and everything looked normal to us only to find out that our baby boy has an ophelocele and SUA (single umbilical artery). Apparently these two abnormalities together are indicative of more serious genetic issues like trisomy 18, 13 and edwards syndrome). I did not do NIPT testing prior to this. They are referring me to an mfm specialist to do further testing next week. Im freak”
“I had my 20 week anatomy scan yesterday and everything was normal except there was a normal abnormality which can occur in 1% of pregnancies. See below: An isolated bilateral right and left intrahepatic umbilical vein observed. So basically at the beginning of pregnancy, there are 2 veins in the umbilical cord but they end up fusing into one, but for me, the 2 veins did not fuse and they’re still there. Has anyone had this happen to them and all was good? I trust my doctor who said because my an”
