“Hey All, So disclaimer here, I am not a Physical Therapist. I am a Gym Owner. Some Background : We've had a great relationship with our PT in the area, they trust us as a gym to help patients that have made it through recovery, continue their strength journey to avoid future injury, because of our focus on form, programming, etc. (To be clear, we are a Boutique Studio, where we do Small Group Training as well as Personal Training, and also Kettlebells and Pilates.) Equally, as a gym owner yo”
“To preface: I really like the idea of massage as a new career. I like quiet environments and I like being able to put all of my focus into one task. I've worked in really loud environments and jobs that require intense multitasking, which is difficult for me. So, this is part of what draws me in. And of course, I think it would feel super rewarding to be able to help people, to boot. . . I've never worked in healthcare before. I've heard males really struggle in this industry and one”

Basically, I’m looking for someone who can help me recondition my whole body from the ground up . Somewhere between a personal trainer, physical therapist, and someone who understands nervous system regulation/the mind-body connection. Two years ago I went through a major loss that absolutely rocked me, and since then I’ve had a bunch of strange/painful/scary physical sympto”
“Hey all, Just wanted some opinions on if getting the CSCS is worth it over the CPT. Some context I’m 26, former college athlete looking to start a career in the fitness industry. I have a degree in psych so I could sit for the CSCS but am worried it’s not really needed to get started in this field? Any advice or guidance would be really appreciated here! “I’d like to offer free coaching to a small rotating set of clients (I have a great FT job and don’t need the money). I’m going to start with remote coaching and would like to offer limited in-person sessions, but I’m not sure what that could/would look like since I won’t be employed by a gym and can’t just walk into facilities for free. Any ideas? Is volunteer coaching a thing? submitted by /u/SleepyPowerlifter [link] [comments]”
“Hello everyone 👋 this question is for Massage Therapists who made a shift to massage from a corporate type career. I am currently in massage school to become a LMT. While I’m incredibly excited, making a career shift also has me feeling a bit overwhelmed and lost. Initially I plan to do massage just part time, but my hope is to become full time with my own practice. I should say that full time for me is likely 15hrs hands on and 20 hrs total For context, I have an extensive background in Econom”

“I’m a massage client (and also Pilates teacher and former professional dancer and general bodywork nerd). I have looked at the research but I am looking to hear about peoples’ real life experiences with this. I have a history of trauma and both cPTSD and regular PTSD (lots of things but childhood loss or sibling and parents, raising myself, and then a violent SA). I’m 39 yo and all of this was over a decade ago (the childhood stuff obviously even earlier) and I no longer have these or any other”
“I do rehabilitative massage. I very recently learned I'm losing my office space. I have some movement instruction certs (Pilates mat, yoga, NASM stretch, NASM corrective ex) and finally started a CPT program last month. I was already thinking of massaging less and training more but time and motivation were low. Has anyone made the switch from LMT to CPT? What should I be thinking about? Feedback on these possibilities? - I can train a existing clients from home and do stretch sessions as wel”

I’ve heard mixed reviews… how do I tell if it’s a “good” crunch… as I see many have varied experiences Are there any forms of educational/growth opportunities there to improve? - this is one of my biggest curiosities - I’m very eager to learn and hoping for the right environment and connections What are the general hours/structure? submitted by /u/Radiant_Bid4547 [link] [”
“Im a Doctor of Physical Therapy I was a personal trainer for almost 10 years prior. Personal training was my passion, PT pays the bills. I've been exploring creating a unique offering that allows both you the Personal trainer and me the physical therapist to profit from helping a client through pain, dysfunction, or health conditions. Im not selling anything just want to create a discussion. Maybe this idea sucks but can be improved, idk. Essentially I would create a "functional health”
“Studying for ACE PT exam and using pocket prep, while I also utilize the textbook, modules, and videos. Is this more of a go with the standardized testing material scenario over what actually makes more sense? Back squat for sure recruits more muscle mass to complete the exercise and I feel like the information within this question/answer is what needs to be studied less for myself personally compared to other information, but answers like this have me somewhat worried about what I believe to be”
