“From what I hear, it is very difficult to get a teaching job in WA. I teach in the Southeast and teaching jobs are every where. I’ve considered PNW but looks impossible. I’m certified in Social Studies and Special Ed.”

New and experienced educators alike face significant hurdles in securing teaching positions. These challenges range from navigating complex application systems and credentialing processes to concerns about job history and a lack of experience, creating anxiety and uncertainty for those pursuing or maintaining their careers. I plan to go to the internship route but I am not too sure which districts are most likely to hire an intern. “I've spent years teaching overseas. I'm now preparing to return to the US, where I hope to teach in public schools. I plan to teach SPED. (I also have an endorsement in ESOL.) Two things trouble me. The first is whether I'll find employment at all. I have years of experience, but none in an American public school, and I don't know what value employers will place on that experience. The second concern is I wonder whether I'll be any good at the job once I get it. The American”

“3 teachers in my school applied for a job in our school and none of us got it, we weren’t really upset about them going with an outside hire. It was that we never got a call back that we didn’t get it. Just curious if that’s what others have experienced? “Hi everyone! I recently applied for an ELOP Instructor position and got a call back the next day. They offered me an interview next week. I was pretty surprised since I'm 18 and only have experience babysitting and being an assistant at Kumon for a short period of time. I'm trying to prepare because I've never interviewed for this type of position before. I have experience babysitting, but I've never officially worked as an after-school instructor.
