“Dawg, charging a premium to replace a regular ass shower head? Cross threaded or not, it’s plastic. You shouldn’t be at a job by yourself if you need to charge a premium for this. [re: A 10-minute shower head change can't be this difficult..]”
“Plumber told me he charges $400 for snaking clean out and $900 for snaking toilet, I think it was a deep/weird clog. Edit: I guess what I mean is, is it easier for them to snake the clean out and get the problem solved as opposed to taking the toilet off and snaking ?”
“Plumbers hate digging and will charge you crazy amounts. Fixing the pipe is often simple as fuck. [re: Am I screwed?]”
Several posts express concern about plumbers charging excessive amounts for plumbing components and installations. Users question the necessity of certain parts, like glue couplings, and suspect contractors are taking advantage of homeowners' lack of knowledge.

“I know prices for plumbers are crazy right now but if you dig this out 2 more feet in both directions a handyman or self employed plumber might be able to help you out. Like others have said you did the hard part. The fix is about 10 min if they have the equipment needed. [re: How would I connect a small sink to this, preferable on the left? In California]”
“Price out each fitting from Home Depot or a supply house then knock 50% off. 16 bucks for a 1” fitting sounds high, I’m not sure where you’re getting that number from.”
