“I have found the plugs would get stuck in the tube so I bought I metal tool from the hardware store that was just a bit narrower to push the plugs out rather than compacting the ground more. “ooh i have that same sprayer and went down the teejet rabbit hole last year you'll want the teejet 11004vp nozzle, gives a nice even fan pattern at a comfortable walking speed. you do need an adapter though, the ryobi wand has weird threading so grab a teejet 38500-2 adapter, screws right on. i marked my pace on the driveway first with some water to get the coverage right, maybe try that since you're working with a small area”

Just says to remove them for winter storage to preserve battery life. Maybe the Skil has a different type of battery and maybe its manual does say that, idk. “Hey Everyone, My self-propelled 21" Troybilt just bit the dust, so I need a new mower. I'm thinking about going 3 ways. Any advice or input would be helpful. Lawn: 10,000 square feet (I have Bermuda in the front and fescue in the back) 8,000 square feet is manicured, and I have 2,000 square feet that runs parallel to a creek. “Over cutting the mower, when your going over thick tall grass you need to be realistic for you equipment. You needed to raise your deck for the first pass, then lower for the second as to not over load your machine.”

“Hey all, hoping someone might have some input on an issue we're having in the Southeast US. We have a Cub Cadet zero-turn with the factory blades. We didn't notice this problem last year, but this year when mowing once a week, it's leaving pretty heavy rows of chopped grass behind from the side discharge. My yard is smaller so I use an ego dual blade and love it. Don’t feel bad tho for $55, my BIL has less than 1k sq Ft of lawn and they pay someone $40 each time to mow it.”
“Rolling won't do much if theres barely any dirt to settle, youll just be compacting rock against rock. It might smooth out a few small lumps but the big dips will still be there For a mower, look at old school reel mowers with a roller bar on the back, they follow the contour way better than a 4-wheel rotary. The big wheels on most push mowers drop into every low spot and leave mohawks, a wider cutting deck with some flex helps a bit too”

“Im having trouble understanding AI. So I calibrated my typhoon 3 sprayer to about 1.25 gallons per 1k sqft (still tweaking it to get it closer to 1 gallon per 1k sqft or is my current rate good?). “Maybe a traveling sprinkler? The kind that runs on wheels and slowly follows the hose. Then you can set a route snaking across the yard to get good coverage. For a timer that doesn’t constrict flow, I think you just need to buy a timer with a bigger valve opening. “Yeah, that’s definitely from the tires pivoting as they turn. Largely unavoidable on heavy mowers. Talk to them about it, and use someone different if it doesn’t improve 🤷♂️… may or may not have better luck next time.”

“Get an extra battery or 2 The batteries should be stored indoors, or at least in a garage that’s not searing hot or freezing cold If your mower is going to be battery, get a trimmer and edger that are also battery, and get the same brand with the same exact size battery. And any other tools such as hedge trimmer and leaf blower. That way you don’t need 4 or 5 different batteries with 4 or 5 different chargers. Stick to one.”

“Go with the 80 volt with being Hilly , The self propelled will make life way easier and once you get a self propelled mower you will never go back. The 80 volt is wider deck and more like a gas mower. To me this should be what is a better mower for your yard. Not what is better value.”
“Same, tried it twice and the grass looked like a drunk teenager tried to make it look bad on purpose. Bought the Ryobi 40V edger expandit thing and haven't looked back.
