“My detailer got my car near perfect a year ago and have less marks from washing every other week after a year than that car. San Remo Green, so pretty dark. Most of us only live once, go all in and enjoy. With proper technique you will not have to do correction often enough that you will rub the paint off”

“Hi all. I bought this 2006 Civic a couple months ago. The previous owner had gotten it “resprayed” and it looks like a backyard job honestly. The OEM paint underneath is not sanded at all and it looks like the new base/clear is very thin. The new paint is peeling pretty much everywhere due to lack of adhesion. “Thank you for this. I honestly just wanted to try out the CanCoat. I've used actual coatings like the CQuartz and Sonax on my other cars and loved the results. I don't think I even used a panel wipe back then. Then I just maintained with either Seal n Shine or Meguiars Ceramic spray wax cus they're always on sale locally. It looks like they did a spot repair instead of repainting and clearing the entire bumper. They appear to have stopped the clear coat right at the bumper’s body line, and you can actually see the edge where the clear coat ends. It doesn’t look like it was blend”

“Just wanted to share my work! This was my first deep detail. Steps were as follows: 1. Hand wash 2. Clay mitt 3. Meguiars ultimate compound 4. Turtle wax finishing polish 5. Alcohol wipedown 6. “Hi guys, so yesterday I did a one step polish on my car, and then added a layer of Carpro cquartz uk 3.0 right after. Unfortunately the sun set by the time I was finished with the first layer at around 9:30pm, so I wasn’t able to add the second coat. I worked outside no garage. “With a well applied coating, you'll typically see a very uniform pattern of tight, round beads across the entire surface, whereas on this panel it's kind of all over the place, in size and shape, which indicates contaminated or insufficiently prepped surface. This is how my hood typically looks after rain with Carpro SIC. “If you mean aesthetically sure, but all the articles I’ve read said even having birdshit on your car is better for the paint than car wash place’s soaps.”
“Only thing I would have changed is using a stronger ipa mixture; 3D one is quite oily. Or perhaps applied too thin. As someone has said, wash the car and have another look. Sure doesn’t look quite right.”

“I've used can coat in the past, came out a lot better than that. That being said, Gyeon Mohs EVO takes about the same amount of work to install but works far better and lasts for several years”

I’ve only done can coat once (with a small circular applicator) on my own car but it beaded and performed as well as many of the full coatings I’ve used, including Gyeon pure/mohs. The only step I see potentially messing up the process is the panel prep. 3D one is pretty oily and I always tend to go over it at least twice with a panel prep (capro eraser or equivalent).”
