“if its an online interview it doesn't matter! I wear like a different plaid/checkered suit (it sounds worse than it looks) with black slacks to all my networking events and it seems to do just fine”

I have a pair of past-the-knee jorts that are tempting me, and I figure it’s a service industry interview so they might cut me some slack? I’ve got a nice button up to pair with it. Idk! “I dont have much besides that. Does it matter that much? Would I have to go out and buy? Or can I just wear the dress shirt with a tie, no jacket submitted by /u/Past_Environment_192 [link] [comments]”
“I haven't been on a face-to-face IT interview in about 10 years. I live in the Washington, DC area, and during my last interview wearing a suit and tie was expected. I spoke to a friend who also lives in the DC area who told me that suits and ties are no longer the interview style, and that blazers or just a dress shirt without tie is now the interview norm. So, what do you recommend as an interview outfit for someone seeking an IT leadership position? I'd like to hear your thoughts rega”
“Company is flying me to their HQ's for a panel interview. Haven't worn a suit in years, not sure I own a tie. What is the current trend these days, suit and tie, just a suit jacket? submitted by /u/Islerothebull [link] [comments]”
“Needs a tie. Need to see the belt and shoes. Remember to unbutton the jacket before you sit down”
“Suit adjacent like he is mentioning (blazer, tie, trousers) would likely be fine just no polos. Regardless, full suit takes away any ambiguity.”
“Brother i interview people quite a few times and let me say, it definitely depends on the job but it does not matter if you're going to work remotely. A polo can work just as well, people dont even wear suits so much anymore but I see a fella wearing a tshirt for a presentably speaking role, that does not describe you being presentable. That tells me you dont give a fuck.”
“For Zoom interviews, is a short sleeve shirt with a collar, either a polo or button up acceptable? I normally go for long sleeve button up but am wondering if short sleeve would be considered underdressed. Most of my wardrobe is short sleeve so it would open up possibilities submitted by /u/sadvillain94 [link] [comments]”

“I was on probation as a juvenile for deferred judgment for a year. That was it, all I got was probation. I never went to juvey. I'm basically done; I was good, didn't get arrested or get caught doing anything bad, and did my community service. They are taking my stuff to court at the end of July, and it will be taken off my record. I interviewed for a part-time job. They liked me, and now they are doing the background check. Since my court date hasn't happened yet, I'm assuming i”
