Hey boys. 2 week old beautiful daughter who I love with my entire heart. Im sitting here for the 5th night in a row at 2 in the morning where she is basically inconsolable between the hours of 10 and 3. She roots but pushes the bottle away. She is an angel for about 10 minutes if i bounce her in my arms then screams bloody murder. I change her diaper probably once an hour. This is my time to give my wife a break but it feels like im failing at that. I know it will pass and I’ll probably wish I c

First time mom, very sleep deprived, and struggling to differentiate hunger cues from general upset about gas. I'll feed her for a solid 30-40min, she usually falls asleep and then I've been playing with just leaving her asleep or burping her. She seems to get upset if I burp her and wake her up (overtired?) but then I know she'll be upset later if I don't burp her and she gets gassy. If I wake her up while burping within several minutes she'll start rooting around, chewing a

I am 15 days pp, EBF, FTM. Baby feeds roughly every 2 hours, takes about 1 hour in the night to get him sorted so couldn’t really ask for better. I am trying my best to rest and sleep as much as I can and I am eating and drinking plenty. Been to doctors and everything is as it should be. But I am just exhausted- on the verge of collapsing all the time. Any advice would be appreciated... Sometimes I can’t even stand submitted by /u/Happy_Melon8939 [link] [comments]

FTM to a beautiful baby boy who turned 5 months yesterday. Everyone tells me things get better around 6 months but I'm struggling to believe it. Sleep deprivation is wrecking me, for the first 6 weeks of his life LO woke every 45 minutes overnight and my husband and I slept in shifts. By 8 weeks this had extended to every 2-3 hours but he started fighting naps (all five of them per day) and bedtime, so I spent more than half my day trapped in a dark room rocking and bouncing him while desper

Evening dads. Fresh out of the hospital with baby number 2, past 24 hours have been a rollercoaster to say the least but I don't see the light at the end of the tunnel. Physically and mentally struggling, our first has decided to go through a sleep regression, taking ages to go down, frequent wake ups in the night last night and anticipating the same again with how he's just performed! Trying to look after my partner first but also myself, can't stop thinking about it we've made

Hello! A funny request for advise if anyone has any ideas. No idea how to tag it, but our LO poops between 5:15-5:45 every morning. When she doesn’t, she now wants snuggles/contact nap till 6. She seems to need more sleep, but the poop comes when it comes. How do we help? What do we do? Why won’t she poop like 30 minutes later???? 5am poop change and contact nap is killing me. When will this end??? submitted by /u/ojk2390 [link] [comments]

Hey guys. I’m a first time dad of a 18 week old boy & i’m at my wits end. I’m so so so tired. He used to sleep good, than the four month sleep regression hit us really hard. For about five weeks he was up every 45 minutes. Last week was good, he slept a bit better, but now he’s so angry all the time, the nights are so rough again. I don’t know how long I can keep doing this. Please can anyone help me… how did it go for you? They told me everything would be better at 12 weeks, well it isn’t.

oof nursing lately has been TOUGH. my LO will be 14 weeks (wow i can’t believe he’s not a newborn anymore 😭) He’s soooooo fussy when i try to nurse him. even if i try right when he wakes up he doesn’t want it, i wait til a bit after, he won’t take it. he’s been only really eating in sidelying, but we’re going to an event this weekend so that’s not possible. he’s normally an eat every hour kinda dude, so i’m just worried that he’s going to get dehydrated or starve (my husband thinks i’m dramatic

Hi, My baby boy is almost 10 weeks, he is awake most of the times during day, he sleeps at night but he is so fussy because he is sleepy. I tried everythink rocking, bouncing, swadling, give him pacifier or give him breast. He is getting drowsy but immediately awake again. Im so exhausted, if he's getting drowsy i let him contact nap but he is getting awake immediately. What should i do? submitted by /u/Yuni8 [link] [comments]

Guys in a FTM to a 6 month old and my baby came home on Friday with a gnarly cold. WHAT do you do?? It’s night 4 and he wakes every 45 min because he’s so stuffed up😭 this is worse than the 4 month sleep regression! We have a cool mist humidifier, sat in the steamy bathroom for 15 min before bed, saline drops and snot sucker. Nothing gets him to sleep. Is this normal?? Do you guys just not sleep when your baby is sick? How do you function? How do you go to work? I feel like I’m going insane and

My LO is now 4m old. This started at 2.5m. He is EBF mostly except for when I am at work (I don’t work a crazy bunch, just a few hours a week) he takes pumped milk. I went back to work when he was 9 weeks old. At this time, LO had slept though the night pretty much consistently. (6-9hr stretches every night, one feed between 3-4am, and back to sleep til about 7:30-8:30). Once he was put down, he was asleep til his wakeup. This routine continued til pretty much 11 weeks then he started waking up

4 month old. Been awake in his crib for 40 min at 2 am contently babbling and playing. He was fed 2 hours ago - no hunger cues. I’ve been trying to let him he and fall back asleep himself, he’s not upset whatsoever. I wanted to see if he’d go back to sleep himself. When do I go in and help him back to sleep??? Not every time, just about 6-8p and then around midnight; I’ve survived these last two nights by giving 4-8ml of collected colostrum and that seems to help. I’m lucky with this one (my third) that we sleep in two three hour blocks at night. The 4/5am wakes aren’t an issue either. All this leads me to think my prolactin levels at night and storage capacity gets me from midnight to morning, and then carries me through the day; but do I need to consider underproduction? My baby will be 4 weeks tomorrow. Over the last couple of days he has become inconsolable. He cries for hours and is only happy if he is being fed or help upright. He has been refusing naps. My baby will be 4 months old in a week. The first month was good, the baby was sleeping well, my husband was off work, the weather was nice. The second and third month were even better, we started having visitors and hanging out with friends again, baby was finally gaining weight as he should, the weather was still ok, we went on a lot of walks. His sleep was decent. Then the 4th month hit. I got my period back, my hair started falling out, the baby shows signs of teething and is fussier than us

Hey everyone, I see so many posts on social media and even here from parents whose babies sleep in long stretches, wake up just a couple of times, or have somewhat predictable daytime schedules with fixed naps. My 12-week-old’s sleep looks nothing like that, day or night, and I’m starting to feel so overwhelmed trying to figure out how to help him. Here is what our reality looks like right now: Bassinet/Back-sleeping: He absolutely refuses to sleep on his back in his bassinet. If I put him down,

I’m crashing out. Send help. This baby doesn’t want to be put down for more than 2 mins. We’re doing shifts — me up from 9pm-3am and him up from 3am-9am as primary. I’m still building up my milk supply so my sleep is very interrupted, then I have to wake hubby up halfway through his sleep so I can pump uninterrupted. I’m waiting for pumping bras to arrive to help me pump hands free, which I hope will help. My husband and I have not been able to literally just sleep next to each other at the same

Feeling really burnt out lately Son is just under 22 months. He was a pretty chill newborn and infant. He never napped well which had its challenges but slept over night without waking up despite waking up early. Fine. It was workable But for the last almost 3 months he has been waking up - daily - at 4-430AM without fail. My wife and I take turns waking up with him but it’s been killing us. I have a 12-week-old baby who loves being held. For the longest time, we only did contact naps, and at night I wasn't able to get him to sleep in his Next2Me crib, so we resorted to bedsharing. Some days recently have started getting better, while others feel like we're right back at square one. Through all of this, though, he’s started smiling and "talking," and the sweetest thing just happened (or the sweetest thing so far , to be accurate). He woke up from a nap, I nursed hi

Our boys 4.5 months and just hit 20 pounds the other day. I love the chonk but I’m starting to get a bit stressed because he’s already grown out of a lot of his items. His bassinet had a 20lb weight limit but he graduated from that early regardless because he was rolling. His baby bjorn bouncer that we used religiously also has a 20lb weight limit, and I was going to buy him a circle of neglect today only to see them all have a 25lb weight limit so now I’m like what’s the point ?? Our little guy has always had struggles with consistent sleep, but this is a new struggle. He’s always had significantly below the amount of sleep he’s supposed to get, regardless of environment. Now that we’re at the ten week mark, he’ll get about eight hours of sleep at night (with one food break in the middle) before staying up for the rest of the day. If we’re lucky, we might get a half hour nap around 11am, and the rare half hour around 4pm. Otherwise, he only sleeps at night. I just spent

My son is almost 11 weeks old and sleeps pretty well at night (currently in his own bassinet in our room)! Hello daddit. I need help. My baby just turned one month old yesterday. My fiancè spends a majority of the time with the baby as I work 10 hour days. Our baby wakes up in the middle of the night and wants to stay awake for long hours at a time. I’m trying to take over and give my fiancé a break but whenever I take the baby, all he does is want to cry and I cannot seem to get him to calm down leading her to just want her to take him so he calms down. He usually calms down pretty easily with her.

My 1 year old is teething so he’s been extra fussy this week. It hasn’t felt like we’ve gotten good quality time with him this week because he’s been fussy at home with us. It’s just making me feel sad about him being at daycare and getting so little quality time this week. This isn’t a “I don’t wanna work” type of rant because I want to work and need to work. But some weeks are just harder than others and this is one of them when I’m feeling like I’m missing quality time with him. submitt

My boy is 14 months old, he’s sensitive, intelligent and always full of energy. We’ve been through a few sleep regressions but this one feels like it’s going to break me. Prior to this we did gentle sleep training and while it was tough he reacted great, slept through the night the first night and continued for a few months. Howdy Daddit. We have a happy and healthy four month old, who perhaps unsurprisingly, is struggling to sleep long stretches. Tell me how you got through your regressions! He’s been rolling back to belly since like 9 weeks and keeps getting stuck on his belly in the crib and gets mad. I would say we soothed him at least 7-8 times last night total. My son was born at 318 Sunday morning and has been the perfect baby. Anytime he’d get fussy we could easily calm him, reswaddle, top off the tummy, and back to sleep. It was honestly impressive. Of course, we knew the pendulum would eventually swing and boy did it last night. Cluster feeding, constipation, gas, nurses in and out. Anytime we thought “ok we made it to the quiet part” someone else would walk in or he would wake up. We survived but we’re all zombies. The nurses told us this is compl

I read through a post (couldn’t figure out how to tag it) where parents shared when their baby started sleeping through the night and HOW they put their babies to bed. Anywho, I noticed a trend of parents that said their babies slept the whole night at like 4/5 months…everyone commented about their babies being more independent and not wanting to cuddle as much. As someone who has a cuddly baby, it was really surprising. But it made me think that maybe there was a connection? My baby is a Velcro

Baby started eating a lot more at about 4 weeks, it lasted I think 5ish days before he suddenly stopped wanting so much and instead now will take max 3oz, altho it seems lately he just wants 2-2.5oz and to eat more often so now he is sleeping less and has been much more fussy and particular about things. LO is almost 6 weeks. Today he’s been so fussy. Crying constantly. I thought it’s comfort feeding/him being overtired. So I gave him the pacifier which tended to calm him down for a bit, he’d fall asleep for like half an hour then cry again. I fed him on a 1.5-2 hour intervals. Once I fed him an hour later and he was barely eating, more like pacifying himself. So that’s why I thought it might not be cluster feeding. Now after reading posts, I am thinking he might‘ve been cluster feeding and I’m
