“So I asked my co worker is he wanted to rock paper Scissor for dish, well a waitress told us we can't scissor in the kitchen. What am I gonna do, i want to envite the waitress to film how cooks scissor but I dont want it to get posted on Facebook.”
“I feel like no matter how much I clean the kitchen it gets messy again so quickly. Some tasks are just harder to keep up with than others. What about you? Is there any kitchen cleaning task you find especially annoying?”
“For example - I didn’t think I had to explain that in order to clean dishes/cutlery that you cannot JUST USE YOUR PHALANGES and it’s important to use HOT water and SOAP. I’m stressed out and concerned.”
Several kitchen workers express frustration with the frequency and thoroughness of cleaning duties, including line sweeps, trash disposal, and sanitization. They also mention needing to teach new employees basic hygiene practices.

“For me it’s usually the counters and stove. I feel like they get dirty again so quickly. What about you? submitted by /u/Glittering_Song_7022 [link] [comments]”
“I go to culinary school, and have worked kitchen jobs where the dishwasher has never sweeped and mopped the whole kitchen alone. I need to do that at this hotel job + take out all the trash in the entire kitchen alone then clean my station. Is this normal? I’m from Canada. submitted by /u/rologists [link] [comments]”
“Someone called my kitchen “incredibly dirty” I guess we have 2 different standards of cleanliness but I thought that was a bit of a reach. Seeking opinions on this lol submitted by /u/Fun-Village-4004 [link] [comments]”

“Right? That makes total sense. How do you feel about clearing dirty dishes from their space and then also washing them? Or, say, if you have to move things around to clear a pathway, are you also figuring out where they belong and putting them away? The answers to these questions could land you a great job where your skills are extremely appreciated! (And by appreciated, I mean expanded upon without compensation 😂)”
“TLDR: Burned rice on the stove. Cleaned off most of the burned area but there is still some scars left. Best method do get it done? submitted by /u/McBoogish [link] [comments]”
“How do y’all clean your griddles? We’ve always used the scotch brite liquid chemical packets and I can’t seem to ever get it to look much better than this lol. I’m the only one who cleans the griddle tho so been thinking about switching methods. submitted by /u/fuckmicahman [link] [comments]”
“I have some people on my team who just do not give a shit about keeping their station clean. “Why clean it if it’s just going to get dirty again?” Is what I hear the most. It’s a pretty hole-in-the-wall place, so standards are pretty low. Coming at it from a “this is just how we do it” or “do it cause I’m asking you to,” mentality isn’t really what I’m looking for here. I’m more looking for methods of motivation/communication that might encourage them to put a bit more effort in. submitted”
