So l've had it for almost 2 months now. I'm pretty weird of having fish. A few weeks ago, I was having trouble with my fish and ended up losing a betta and corydory. PH, total alkalinity, carbonate, hardness, total chlorine, sodium chloride, iron, copper,…

They seem pretty happy in there—plenty of room to swim around, explore, and duck into the plants. I could watch these little guys all day. submitted by /u/Jonezhi [link] [comments]

Hi, one of my platys is acting ill. I started to notice this behaviour yesterday. All water parameters are fine, still eating well. All of my other platy and corys are well. With the exception of one fry (absolutely no signs of any illness) who passed yesterday morning, I done a 30% water change because of this and the sick fish. One of my adult platy, seems like it’s starting to pinecone and there’s definitely a respiratory issue. What can I do to help this wee guy please? submitted by &#

what’s wrong with Cory? (excuse the sound of my 5yo crunching a cucumber right near me, I didn’t know how to turn the sound off) and yes there are a lot of snails and fish in a small tank, we are getting a bigger tank… we just had an influx of babies submitted by /u/My_cologyExplorer [link] [comments]

I’ve had my tank and fish for approx. 2 weeks now, so I am still learning! Do you think this Platy looks/is pregnant? The belly looks much rounder than my other Platy’s! submitted by /u/ExcitingAd7350 [link] [comments]

What is this? It wasn’t there or at least noticeable yesterday, this fish was bought yesterday and I definitely would have noticed it on the fish. It came from a shop, its there about a month on its own as the rest of the batch were sold, i put it in a well established planted tank with my panda corys. It seems fine swims well just visibly different. submitted by /u/Fishboyman79 [link] [comments]

Beginner here with 5 cardinal tetras and a few amano and cherry shrimp in a 10 gallon tank. Cycled after 6 weeks then had the fish in there for 4 months now. In the last 3 days a few strange things have happened. One of the amano shrimp molted and has since gone missing / suspected hiding in a rock. Haven’t seen it since. The last two days the tetras seem very nervous whenever I approach the tank keeping a tight group and hiding in the corners. Prior to this they’ve gotten quite comfortable and

TL;DR: - got 5 yesterday - they seem to be eating algae(?) could be that they don't want to eat what I've put in the tank - darting around a lot, maybe because the store they were from didn't keep them very well I recently got 5 corys yesterday from a local petstore. They're in a 10gal tank and their only tank mates are 2 nerite snails. they love to spend their time in the back corner by the filter, which I assumed was because of the algae due to the filter but I was under the im

Have had this guy (and a few others) for a couple months now. Just added 3 more guppies on Sunday. Initially, he was bullying one of the new fish but they seemed to work it out. Today I noticed he’s hiding at the bottom with the Cory’s and when I nudge him out of the plants, he’ll swim around and is promptly chased by the fish he was bullying on Sunday. Water parameters are normal. 0 ammonia, 0 nitrites and 20 nitrates. He’s not bloated, no damage to his fins. He’s just hiding. How long to I let

This fish his name is gta6 and he is by far one of the meanest fish I've ever owned I have a geo around the same size as him and he targets it specifically constantly I've tried changing the layout of the tank and he doesn't care about any other fish and there is plenty of room it's a 75 and both of them are only 3 inches I'm not sure if I should just get rid of him submitted by /u/FancyPut2990 [link] [comments]

I had this neon tetra die yesterday after doing this. No symptoms the day before at all. Now today two of them are doing it. What is going on? Nitrates 0, Nitrites 0, pH 6.4, GH and KH are good. No ammonia. I did a water change 5 days ago with RO water. I run a sponge filter full blast while injecting CO2 at safe levels. Totally at a loss submitted by /u/DataMan27 [link] [comments]

Just bought some new fish for my tank and just at home noticed that one of them swims in this weird way. What it can be? I’m going to put it separately for now and to observe. But I’m not sure if I should put it together with its another companion who doesn’t have any signs of this behavior. submitted by /u/NatyVr [link] [comments]

I posted this on the goldfish subreddit but I thought it might be good to post here as well, just because I’d love as many thoughts and opinions as I could get. I’ve attached two pictures, a before from a few months ago, and and after of what my goldfish looks like right now. I noticed his eyes are looking bulged… he’s a comet goldfish , and had been in a 20 gallon for a year before being moved into a 65 gallon (eventually larger but we live in a 1 bedroom right now) about a month ago the water

My Cory seems to not be doing well, can anyone advise what I should do? My tanks KH dropped to around 1 and I think it crashed the pH to 6.4 from around 7.2 Current parameters are PH 6.4 GH 4.5 KH 1 Am 0 Nitrite 0 Nitrate 10 I have ambulia in the tank that has melted quite significantly which I’m thinking may have caused the issue but I’m not sure. I just got six neon tetras from the pet store yesterday. One of them died on the way home so I have 5 in my tank that all seem to be doing great. This one fish keeps chasing around the other fish. My endler is acting a lil strange today. Swimming close to the top, alone, not really interacting with the rest of them. I have 6 endlers and 2 corydoras. They all chill together. He's really like isolating himself today, he didn't seem to be interested at feeding time. They've been set up for around 12 weeks now and settled nicely together Anyone any ideas what's going on? I hope my babies are ok submitted by /u/lilycriminal [link] [comments]

I'm setting up my first tank (20 gal). It's been cycling for 11 days with just plants and hardscape. In the last 3 days the pH has started to drop rapidly. It's now about 6, and my tap water is about 7.4. Do I need to do a water change? submitted by /u/bethanyrandall [link] [comments]

Can someone please tell me what it is or why they are acting/doing this? They have only started acting like/doing this since late Tuesday night. All water levels have been tested both before and since I've noticed them doing this and are all ok. ** I am fully aware that the tank there currently in isn't ideal or suitable for them. They are only temporarily in this tank while my partner repairs there pond and are only going to be in it for at most the next 2 weeks and have only been in it

Hello! I rescued a betta fish and my tank hasn’t been cycled yet. All other tests are in a good range (pH is 7.2 but I read that bettas can adapt to that & hopefully it slowly lowers over time), my ammonia is at .25 ppm. I have added API quick start & the API conditioner. I have API ammo lock as well, but I haven’t added it yet. Should I add it to get the ammonia down so I’m able to transfer my betta into the tank? Or will that mess up the beneficial bacteria in the tank??? submitt

I noticed my X-ray tetras “harassing” one in the corner so I looked and noticed 2 of my biggies look like they have a baby in them! Every answer on google says they only lay eggs I’m so confused. They’ve also just had a baby a few months ago as well! I’ve turned the lights off hoping it’ll help them relax. I have an area in the tank that’s heavily planted (where the first baby was able to survive) but they keep going around the open sand area. submitted by /u/Bigkaydondadda [link] &#

is he stressed or need air? Or is he playing around and chasing his reflection? He’s a rescue so the tank was cycled in two weeks (I took measures to ramp up the bacteria cycle) and now the levels fluctuate in good accordance with ammonia supply in the tank, and I tested this morning and the ammonia, nitrate, nitrite and pH are all great. I found him at my job because he was accidentally deliver with our supply of minnows and he lived in that tank for about a month submitted by /u/Co

Hi, so I am starting put with my first community tank and have run into my first roadblock and need help. I cycled over a month, added Corys and some shrimp, waited until all my readings were zero again and the filter could cope and then waste to go for some colour and movement. Platies are colourful, hardy and good community fish so I got equal numbers of bananas and reds (4 each). After 24 hours I noticed that all the bananas all had red faces which they definitely did not do before. Google sa

I would have never thought this could happen, but I literally just witnessed this tonight with one of my two new otos. It is a larger oto, and had been eating well from the algae in my tank for a few days now, with a nice round tummy. It was healthy and full-looking from the shop, too. There had been zero issues with any of the fish (cories, kuhlis, a female betta) over the last few days. I tossed in a few small algae wafers, and the oto immediately went to it, knowing it was food. It then proce
