“Hi, I am a software developer trying to understand which supply-chain workflows still depend heavily on email and spreadsheets. Examples might include confirming a supplier date, reconciling a purchase-order change, tracking shortages, consolidating forecasts, checking acknowledgements, or preparing an exception report. I am especially interested in workflows where the information exists but is scattered across systems and message threads. What recurring question starts a manual investigation fo”

Finding a new job has been really hard, and at the same time I got admits for MS in Supply Chain Engineering from a few top universities. I can't decide whether spending around $40K+ USD on the degree is worth it right now. I'd really appreciate a reality check from anyone who has done this degree or works in this field. submitted by /u/dishoombang [link] [comments]”

“Anyone here do PO management or done it before? Not the SAP/Oracle side, more on working POs with overseas suppliers, managing ASNs, EDI feeds, bookings against POs, cargo readiness, ad hoc reporting, and data visibility. Usually at a 3PL or forwarder. I’m on the operations side at a company that offers it, so I see it but don’t do it hands-on. Seems pretty niche. Curious where people went from there and if it helped career wise. submitted by /u/Professional-Gold829 [link] [com”

“Hey everyone, we will be deploying mobile self-driving pallet wrappers and we are looking for facility managers and ops leads who can host a brief pilot trial in their warehouse or distribution center. The upcoming test will last less than a week and will run in a supervised environment away from active warehouse operations so it will not disrupt daily workflow. Our primary goal will be to gather direct operator feedback to refine the product before full rollout. Signing a pilot reservation (LOI”
“Yup… I help out at a warehouse where rhe employees recently have become less useful ? The company bought this huge, robotic machine for its outbound /shipping department . The employees used to be in charge of boxing the products , putting the correct shipping label on them and sending them off but now the machine is doing it and it’s actually doing it faster . Adios amigos”
“Hey everybody, I’m founding the supply chain club at my university and wanted to know if you guys had any advice or personal experience with a supply chain club? What did you like and what didn’t you like? What would you reccomend? Thanks in advance submitted by /u/Gold-Distribution-50 [link] [comments]”
“The only other career option I was even interested in doing was robotics. This is still an option for me and just be on the IT side of house for them. Doing automation stuff with robotics would be sick.”
“what will be impact of automation and AI on the IT jobs? also you have not discussed regarding the ageism and the long term survival in IT sector?”
“I've been reading a bit about how much logistics has changed over the last few years with things like GPS tracking route optimization warehouse automation Al digital freight platforms etc It all sounds great on paper but I'm wondering how much of a difference these things actually make in day to day operations. For people who work in logistics/supply chain, what do you think? submitted by /u/Initial-Extreme-1678 [link] [comments]”
“Hey i am about 3 years in my logistics career currently a dedicated account supervisor at a trucking company in America doing fleet startups and account recoveries. I have an AS in math and CS and some credits toward a bachelor's, no degree yet. My goal was to get my degree in CS or applied mathematics but I couldn't afford it. Right now I'm learning EDI's and SQL since that seems like the easiest way to break into the technical side of logistics and after that I would grind and”
“I have experience in logistics as logistics associate 3 years and now 3 months as scheduler. I have this idea to pursue CSCP and jump over to supply chain. I need your opinions on this if someone else already has this certificate and if it’s worth it or not. Thank you! submitted by /u/No-Subject9026 [link] [comments]”
“Hey everyone, I'm looking for advice on how to connect with operators in the logistics/warehouse automation space. I'm trying to solve an automation solution and want to understand the best way to get data on a painpoint, any advice here? I've gone through my network and done a lot of cold-outreach but the hit-rate is low. Would industry conferences make the most sense? Cold-calling? Open to all advice! submitted by /u/Friendly-Country8700 [link] [comments]”
“Not sure if its appropriate to ask here, but which jobs in supply chain primarily involve automating task? Based on a quick search, I found rpa developer, as well as automation, control, and robotics engineer. I recently found out about and learned how to automate simple tasks with power automate and macros (vba) and thought it was pretty fun. Would you say itd be viable to get these types of jobs (most seem to be in manufacturing?) if I only have a degree in analytics and some experience in ful”
“Retailers are connecting inventory robots, computer vision, electronic shelf labels, forecasting systems, and employee task platforms to improve how products move through stores. Autonomous shelf-scanning systems can identify out-of-stocks, misplaced products, pricing errors, and promotional issues several times each day. That data can then feed replenishment, pricing, e-commerce fulfillment, and store operations. Harmons reports that autonomous shelf scanning reduced out-of-stock conditions by”
“Have heard a lot of chatter about how complicated & expensive Manhattan Associates software is to use/deploy… Is this true? If so, who would you choose instead & why? 🤔 submitted by /u/Jambosh1984 [link] [comments]”
“Serious question😂 Jokingly signed up just so i would have something funny to show around if i got picked, and today i got a text saying to call if i'm interested. Currently finishing 3rd year college, for logistics, will go 2 more years. If i Did go, would i still have a future in logistics or would like no one wanna employ me? submitted by /u/cat_devourer_ [link] [comments]”
