Users are experiencing significant difficulties in saving, exporting, and reliably accessing their ChatGPT conversation history. “Please don’t remove the old chat and project overview for everyone. On mobile, finding chats inside projects now takes too many steps. On desktop, the new Work and Codex menus also remove the option to use chats in a normal full-size view, forcing users into small, cramped windows. “TLDR: If you upgrade to the ChatGPT Work Mac app, you lose access to your existing ChatGPT Classic chat history from the Mac desktop app. Your chats still exist on the web, but you can't access them through the desktop app. I ran into this today while upgrading and wanted to give others a heads up. This restriction sharply limits the utility of project-only memory as you now cannot "show" and then "hide" project memory to chats by moving them around. That is not very useful when you do not remember the exact title or wording from a conversation you had six months ago. “I’m a little confused by your question. Have you checked Settings > Memory > Saved Memories? It has changed. It’s called “Improved Memory” now, and you can switch back by clicking “Legacy Memory.””
