“I can't remember when, but when updating my Macbook Air M1 earlier this year to that glass shit UI, searching for things became insanely slow and sluggish. Before I could just type e.g "Sig" and enter and it would instantly open "Signal". Now if I do this it opens some random…”
“The problem with stating that 27 is an improvement over 26 is that it's ignoring the elephant in the room. It doesn't make any sense for the conversation to just stop there, and implicitly forgive all of the regressions 26 brought as water under the bridge. macOS 15 isn't just…”
“Yeah, I am quite sad that I am packing up and shipping off my nifty little Intel MacBook Pro and for the first time ever, I'm wondering if I can do without a Mac, not even really wanting one.... the one form factor which sort of appeals is a Wacom Movink 13 w/ a Mac Mini (but I…”
Multiple users express strong dislike for the user experience of macOS, citing issues like disappearing scrollbars and an awkward dock bar. They find these design choices frustrating and prefer alternative operating systems.

“Except their "vibe coded" slop isn't even close to the tools they claim to replace. It's junk. Their "native" macOS apps have a stupid menu to the side of the window; they're as far from native as you could possibly be. It's rubbish. [re: Surprised…”
“I can't remember when, but when updating my Macbook Air M1 earlier this year to that glass shit UI, searching for things became insanely slow and sluggish. Before I could just type e.g "Sig" and enter and it would instantly open "Signal". Now if I do this it opens some random shit because it's way slower, so now I actually have to wait until I see the visible Signal result. And overall just unhappy with the performance of the new OS. .___. [re: FileDig - Windows versi”
“I wanted Windows-style mouse scrolling on my Mac, but I liked the trackpad exactly as it was. Changing the macOS scroll setting changed both, which kept getting in the way. That became ScrollFix, a small, free, open-source menu bar app. I’m the maintainer. It gives recognized mouse-wheel input a conventional direction and an immediate feel. Middle-click on ordinary content starts autoscroll; on recognized links, the original click reaches the browser so it can open a new tab. Reddit feedback als”
“The problem with stating that 27 is an improvement over 26 is that it's ignoring the elephant in the room. It doesn't make any sense for the conversation to just stop there, and implicitly forgive all of the regressions 26 brought as water under the bridge. macOS 15 isn't just some nebulous hypothetical alternative, it's a readily-available example of what Apple actually shipped in recent history, and it should be a point of reference in discussions like this. Narrowly focusing on 27 vs 26 while”

“My first impression of thr duo was that putting the dock on the side was so completely unnecessary and wastes all of the additional screen space But seeing it like this really highlights what a terrible idea it was. I guess maybe they'll add a fullscreen option but this looks so bad”
“My MacBook already does this when I hover over the bottom right hand corner of my screen with my mouse. How is this different?”
“The problem with Finder is historic. The classic Mac finder was a work of art, if you are the sort of person that arranges things spatially, but most programmers are not. Hence NeXT created something else which got merged back incoherently into what became OSX.The Risc OS filer remains king, largely because managing windows on Risc OS is much more tolerable.”
“Why do they focus so much on hardware when their biggest problem is software? I don't get it. My Dell XPS 13 is probably not that powerful in terms of performance but Linux is so much more productive. This drives me crazy”
“I feel like this is true of almost everything apple does -- they take something clunky from a year ago and "pioneer it" by improving the UX.”
can you make it available for previous version of macOS? I have a sequoia.
“I want a macbook air m5 but Drake Software Desktop is not supported w/o a bunch of hoops. Anybody recommend some other similar software than Drake Software Desktop that is supported on Mac or on a cloud? Note: I only do about 5-6 tax returns a year, and Drake Software Desktop is I think $400. submitted by /u/dtizz [link] [comments]”

“I really tried them all Dell, Thinkpads, HP. But, god, the Macbooks these days are just beasts. Never an ossue, never anything to fix. Just works. Still hate Apple, though.”
“Slower, laggier, CANT EDIT PAST MESSAGES AT ALL ANYMORE. Why am I still paying $20 a month for a way worse version of this app? Seriously this is what happens when you have a front-end team that constantly needs to be shipping and changing something that didn't need any changing from the version that existed 2 months ago. Huge downgrade in UX submitted by /u/WAGE_SLAVERY [link] [comments]”
“Funny! I just found this post. Now it's 5 years later. And it's still just as crap. Didn't improve one bit. Apple hates developers.”
“> I honestly do not understand why any average person would buy anything else than a macbook today.Personally, it's because I hate MacOS with a fiery passion. The UX is just awful.Disappearing scrollbars are a bug, not a feature, on a desktop OS. They make sense on a phone/table where screen real estate is a premium, but on anything 14 inches or more, it's just not necessary.I hate the dock bar. I don't want multiple windows from a single app coalesced to a single icon. If I have two PyCharm”
