3D printers can't extrude filament properly

Users are experiencing issues with their 3D printers, including inconsistent extrusion, stringing, and texture problems. These issues often arise when switching filaments or after printer upgrades, leading to failed prints and frustration.

“I'd "love" it if someone had an idea of what I’m doing wrong here... ;) The thin-walled heart shell that I’m printing goes bad at the outer (slightly thicker) edges of the print, about where the “internal infill” starts getting replaced with “Solid Infill” near the edges of the shell as the shell goes upward (referencing the PrusaSlicer’s internal view) (See also the slicer movie here ( https://youtu.be/C2ZHjdbNaKc)). The shell is actually thicker on the sides, which is why the ext”

“Hi everyone, I’m hoping someone can help me solve a recurring print-quality problem. Whenever I print parts with many small holes like the one in the photo, the top surface comes out very rough and messy. There seems to be excess/uneven material around the holes, and some of the holes look partially obstructed or poorly formed. submitted by /u/Xafniko [link] [comments]”

“recently I tried to print a paint rack. halfway through, the printer decided it wanted to make a tennis ball sized blob instead. every time I try to print something now, it seems to leak filament from the base of the nozzle (as seen in video). just wanted to know if this is a common issue or if there is an easy fix for it. any help would be greatly appreciated. printer is an elegoo neptune 4, just using standard black PLA, temps between 180° and 220°. problem only occurs when printing anything,”

“Every print that I make, any filament I use, it always has the same result. The bottom few layers are completely fine, then 5mm are complete trash and the rest of the print is again completely fine. The bed is leveled, the filament is dry, the printer is clean and stock, the nozzle is in top shape... Could this be like a spec of dust trapped somewhere on the Z axis? Should I take apart the printer and clean it properly? I own it for 3 years and this issue was there since I remember. It's an”

“My A1 is severely under-extruding during prints. Manual extrusion works fine, but during printing the extruder sometimes makes a repeated “click click click” sound and the filament stops feeding properly. I did a cold pull, but it looked fairly clean. The problem seems to happen mainly under higher extrusion demand. What am i suoposed to do submitted by /u/Affectionate-Buy-711 [link] [comments]”

“I keep getting blobs forming on my print nozzle. I’m using PLA at 195 deg C. Printer is an Anycubic Kobra 2 Neo. Any ideas on why this is happening? I just replaced the nozzle, because the old one was clogged. It looks like filament is leaking around the top of the nozzle. Did I not screw the nozzle in tight enough? “I have a spool of PLA. Not even halfway depleted and had to clean massive clogs 5 times so far. No such problems with other spools from same manufacturer, must be contaminated plastic in this one. Also, very brittle, was like that fresh from airtight bag. I can toss it in the bin.
