“I have 8 years of experience in product management in fintech. Worked with big tech companies. Top performer. A senior PM wearing multiple hats and having outstanding results for years. I’ve been working and experimenting with AI long before it became a thing. Working overtime multiple times. Giving my all to the work. Still, I got laid off a month ago. No clear reason. The company just didn’t need me anymore and I was informed about it on my annual leave. I was absolutely NOT prepared for that,”
“If you can make $500k+/year for a few years, and save most of it, you'll be in a great position to do whatever you want when the money dries up.”
“What is the company morale at companies like meta and oracle where they had multiple waves of huge layoffs? Are people choosing to leave independently often? Are teams being shifted constantly due to the change in team members? Is everyone depressed coming to work and can you feel a level of uneasiness and fear daily? I dont know if its worth applying there anymore if the environment is super unhappy and depressing. submitted by /u/Fearless-Cellist-245 [link] [comments]”
“This is Canadian post BTW but happy to get POV from everyone! I was a software developer for 5 years. In Mid 2024 I got laid off from my job. I want to know where are all the new tech jobs at? Should I stick to software development (I am a terrible software developer btw) or should I learn AI or something else? I used to get my work done by paying some contractor. I would do small tasks by myself but complex tasks I just get it done by a senior. So as I said I am not a good software developer. I”
“Obviously its rough, I'm not living under a rock, and with AI there's less of a need for as many PM's. But as of now, I have never seen the job market this bad, even during the mass layoffs of 23-24 (in contrast, SWE's worst time seemed to be 23-24). I recently got laid off, and as I am recruiting I barely see any openings, and of the openings a large section are principal or above. I did get a few interviews but the loops are so ridiculously long (6 loops on average, and these r”
“Should I put the date I was laid off or just keep present on my resume and then in the intro call just mention that I am no longer at the firm anymore? submitted by /u/PersonalHarp461 [link] [comments]”

“Hi, I just got laid off , after working with a European company for 4.5 years. My tech stack is MEVN and MERN. The reason was not Ai but financial crises in Europe due to war. The company I was working with lost its permanent customers. My current situation is that I have parents and my family to feed. Living on the Rent currently, All savings went to my Father's debt (that is another story) So i just have only two more months before I run out of money including the rent. Now I need some gui”
“Congratulations. Consider yourself lucky as you know reading these messages. Jobs are hard to come by. Make the best of it and give it a year or two and see where the economy goes.”
“Interview skills, go in Glassdoor and scope out what the loop for companies you are targeting is like. Then study to beat the loop”
“Hello! I was laid off from my Sr SWE job back in July and have been taking time off since then. As I'm planning on returning back to the work grind in the next month or two, I'm curious at what the current state of jobs is like, or more specifically what type of skills are people working on to make themselves more marketable at the Sr level. Are interviews more or less as they were 3-5 years ago? i.e. online coding assessment(s), generic interviews, and then several coding interview onsi”
“All of the layoffs I've seen in 3 companies in the US west coast have been for performance, juniors engineers, PMs, and engineering management roles. I've not seen any experienced engineers with 5+ years experienced laid off who wasn't on a PIP in the past.”
“Considering tech companies like Oracle have been laying off every other week, and many others following suit, do you guys know of any more companies with somewhat decent job security? I know government contractors but that's about it. submitted by /u/Remarkable-Pen-6003 [link] [comments]”
“You or your colleagues who were affected by the great 2026 mass layoff wave, did y'all get a job or are you switching domains? submitted by /u/Life-Variety-66 [link] [comments]”
“We do get them but it's finding a needle in a haystack. My point being is them market is not filled with ultra-qualified candidates. We're a fully-remote shop too, pay is decent.”
“Hi good folks, so yeah, I got laid off a few days ago. Took some time to recharge and now actively looking for opportunities. About me: Roughly 5+ years in. Initially commercial analytics at a large analytics firm, then strategy consulting at a consulting firm, then the last year in the founder's office of a consumer AI startup reporting to the founder, also dabbled in product management. MBA from an Indian Institute of Management, engineering undergrad before that. Looking for founder's”
“It's better if people who got laid off can mention their company, country, technology they worked and YOE in the post itself, so that they may get instant help if there is someone with matching openings in their company. Also it will be helpful for others in seeing the patterns of layoffs by the company and deciding based on that. All the best submitted by /u/ab____________a [link] [comments]”
“Hey while scrolling linkedin I saw the post of employees who are affected in recent layoff. Sorry to hear that and more power to you guys. I found another job post only on LinkedIn for these type of employees so sharing it here. “senior and staff roles in the bay area seem plentiful, and are paying higher than i've seen before (some no-name startups are quoting me as high as 350k+ base salary, seen tc quotes up to a million). i know there's been a lot of layoffs here but everyone still seems to be hiring. i have 17 yoe and have mostly worked in FAANG/FAANG adjacent companies though. seems about the same as last year, but there's a little more hiring by public companies compared to last year.”
“I had a different job every time for the past six years. I seem to get in the same trap with these startups and small agencies. I needa new stack honestly”
“This doesn't answer your question but I was part of a mass layoff this year and no way am I going back to PM. I don't even know if I want to go back to corporate. I got a solid severeance and healthy savings, but for income, I've been trading options, doing odd jobs for friend's construction business, dog sitting, and consulting for an old boss. I've made enough to cover my expesnes and keep my lifestyle current, but I don't think it's sustainable long term. However,”
“Hi all! I was laid off in May following nearly a decade at my job, and it hasn't been easy since. In the 3 months since I was laid off, I've found exactly 3 full-time jobs in my field, two based in NYC/LA and one remote (I made it all the way through to the final round interview and thought I had it in the bag, but then got the "we decided to go in a different direction" email). I've come to realize that my only option now is to do a career pivot, but the problem is that ev”
“I have a few colleagues that were recently laid off last week. This week, I had a partner company CEO ask if I had any recommendations for someone in a sales and marketing role. Two of these colleagues would be a great fit. I made an intro to the partner using these ex-colleagues personal email, but I used my work email. Is there any issue here, starting to overthink it…. submitted by /u/No_Chemistry_2616 [link] [comments]”
