“Pretty straight forward, I work at a hospital currently and looking to change to a different unit, so FMLA is no issue. My qualm is the interview timeline is taking much longer than expected, so by the time of my last interview I will be 20 weeks. I am already starting to show…”

“Obviously I don’t have a the job yet and my pregnancy is still fresh. No crystal ball on either front. what are the politics of going through with a hiring process knowing that if the pregnancy sticks I would be going on a big fat…”
“Pretty straight forward, I work at a hospital currently and looking to change to a different unit, so FMLA is no issue. My qualm is the interview timeline is taking much longer than expected, so by the time of my last interview I will be 20 weeks. I am already starting to show at 16 weeks so I'm more so concerned with my belly being the "elephant in the room" that no one can legally ask about. Do I mention just to get clarity? Or just hope they assume its just nonpregnancy weight g”
“hi everyone, I have a ton of career turmoil over the last two years and long story short have found myself in an unstable and uncomfortable role, and also happen to be 26 weeks pregnant with my first. they are not giving me a formidable mat leave anyway (I’m not eligible for FMLA and the company doesn’t have a policy, they’re offering me to take my PTO of 10 days and then they’ll give me another 10 days negative PTO, then I’m on my own with PWFA unpaid leave at the recommendation of my doctor).”
“I'm 3 months pregnant and my employer doesn't know yet. An opportunity came up for a temporary position that could become permanent or would provide me with some learning and growth potential. It also comes with a fairly significant pay increase and a lot more responsibility. Pregnancy has me scatter brained, I'm doing the best I can right now but it's not on par for what I'm capable of non pregnant. It's unfortunate that this opportunity has come up now and my gut is tel”
“My LO is currently just over 4 months, and I am beginning to apply for jobs. Some roles require an in person assessment day - which would probably be held when baby is 6-7 months old. I am logistically trying to work out my options for making it work. We introduced bottles of pumped milk when LO was younger, but got out of the habit of it, and last time we tried again he refused. Is it possible to introduce bottles now or is too late? The other option is sippy cups; but I’m not sure how old they”
“Hi all! We just got our interview scheduled today, however…. Our baby is due 3 days later and we may be getting induced the 39th week. So looks like we must reschedule. My question is has anyone ever been able to reschedule for a little earlier? If you had to push the date. Do they give a set date, say 2-3 weeks later? I dont want to reschedule, and then be up in the air and it takes months for another appointment submitted by /u/Ok_Detective589 [link] [comments]”
“I’m just kidding, it wasn’t actually a race, but my coworker found out she was pregnant at the same time as me. We’ve been the pregnant lady duo at work the past 9 months. She wasn’t due til Sept 21st, but she just had her healthy baby girl today. I was due 3 days ago, and I am still sitting here miserable at 40w+3days with no sign of baby making his appearance. I’m tired, ladies!! submitted by /u/PizzaLunchables0405 [link] [comments]”
“I’m pregnant and interviewing for my dream job. all interviews have been remote. I’m 4 months pregnant. when do I disclose? submitted by /u/BeCoolDunBeAllUnCool [link] [comments]”
“I'm now officially very pregnant. My group and firm know, but work has not slowed down at all. While I have enough work to hit 200 hour months the next two months before I deliver, I am really struggling to keep up. I billed 140 hours this month and could have done more if I wasn't so tired and uncomfortable. Should I be concerned? I'm getting things done but not as quickly as I typically would, and I definitely won't have everything finished before I go on leave. For context, a”
“I have a technical (SWE) job interview in Sydney, Australia scheduled for Thursday and I’m keen to do well. However, I’ve had a pretty traumatic few weeks - I had a miscarriage two weeks ago and am still mentally and physically recovering (not to mention the hormonal shifts which have left me feeling like a shell of myself for the past week) I wasn’t planning on interviewing so soon, but this opportunity came through unexpectedly. I have been trying my best to prepare, but it has been much harde”
“Hi all. I recently accepted a new position and by the time I start, I will be 17 weeks pregnant. I didn’t disclose my pregnancy during the interview process, but I do plan on telling my manager prior to my start date. I know that I don’t owe anyone an explanation, but I feel so guilty about this (even though the career move was right for my family and I). To complicate things further, I believe I’m expected to go to the company offsite in Mexico 3 weeks after my start date. I already have two ki”
“I’m currently almost 9 weeks pregnant. I’ve been interviewing for a position that I’m pretty sure that I’ll be offered the job only issue is I have not disclosed that I am pregnant and I don’t know when to do so I feel like if I tell them during the offer letter that they may go back on it but I also don’t wanna tell them two weeks that are being hired. Hey by the way in six months, I’ll be going on leave. What is the best way to handle this? submitted by /u/HotPerception599 [link] &”
“So I had a zoom interview today, didn't tell them I was pregnant and they want to do another interview tomorrow, at what point do I have to disclose, I'm so sure this will scare them off submitted by /u/Obvious_Swimming_133 [link] [comments]”
“I am currently 27 weeks pregnant. I am under the care of an specialist due to high risk conditions. I am more tired than my usual self. I work in a clinic that requires me to get patients in the lobby, vitals, and bring them in the room. We have 2 clinics in a big building. I am currently in a clinic where everything is far from each other. My station, lobby , and med fridge are not placed close together. I am also by myself. I had put in a request to be moved to a different clinic with less wal”
“Hello, I’m pregnant with my second. I honestly don’t fully remember my first pregnancy (my son is now four). I’m now 40. I’m only about 7-8 weeks, but I have struggled to swallow without gagging, feel so fatigued that I am not motivated, and I feel a constant sense of brain fog. I also wake up at 2:30-3am every single morning like clockwork and the fragment sleep alone with the other symptoms have made me feel quite week. Has anybody ever gone through this while working? I manage a team and just”
“Okay I need your advice Baby Bumps community, regarding what it’s like to work while navigating the first trimester. 😭 I am still waiting to hear back from a position that I interviewed for and I’ve also just applied to another that I’m well qualified for and should get interviewed for; I’m at a university, where my husband is a new faculty member, so I’ve been applying to positions using their spousal hiring program. (Doesn’t guarantee a job, but it does ostensibly help to support spouses of f”
“I’m having difficulty making a big decision with my career at the moment. I recently found out that I’m pregnant (2 months) and got a conditional job offer. The hiring process started back in March, and ever since then, I’ve had to go through an extensive hiring process. I foresee the official offer being extended to me in the next 6 weeks (may be less, may be more) because I still have two more rounds of interviews, reference checks, etc. I also have tons of paperwork to complete and don’t want”
“Hello all! I have an intern that is supposed to start this September. I am currently pregnant and was supposed to give birth end of December, which coincides with when their internship ends. However, I’ve been hospitalized three times since early July and my pregnancy is high risk. This means I have a strong likelihood of preterm labour. In addition, I have weekly monitoring appointments and workplace accommodations now. With all of this going on, I am not sure it is ethical or right to continue”
“Hi everyone! I am currently 10 weeks pregnant and have a role as an operations manager at a global manufacturing company. I am currently at a plant location on the East Coast, but my family lives in the Midwest and we planned on relocating back to one of the plants there within the next 6 months anyways. We just ended up getting pregnant a lot quicker than expected (first try)! I am interviewing for an internal senior operations manager role at the plant back in the Midwest and if everything goe”
“Hi everyone. I’m 11 weeks pregnant and starting school on Monday. Admin already knows but I’m scared to tell families. Last year I left on maternity leave in October and here I am pregnant again! It was planned and my husband and I are very happy. In my school, we teach two grade levels in a classroom. I teach 4th and 5th. My 4th graders cycle through to 5th grade with me. Therefore, I keep half my group for two years. Can you see the potential issue here? My now 5th graders will have had a teac”
“I am 15 weeks pregnant and just had a job interview today. I will go in next week for the next steps of the interview process. I currently have a full time job but absolutely hate it. I am very interested in this potential new job, but I’m not sure if it’s worth it? I know I won’t qualify for FMLA, which is fine. I am nervous they will terminate me once they find out if pregnant or term me during/ after my leave. Anyone with similar experience? submitted by /u/src1222 [link] [c”
“If I'm interviewing for a job (final round interviews) in the next couple of weeks, at what point do you disclose your wife is pregnant? Wife is 9 weeks along (as of today) so really early and frankly it's too early to even tell some friends and family members. My question is - should you disclose this in a job interview if you plan on asking for paternity/maternity leave once the baby is born? And if not, when do you disclose after you accepted and started a new role? I feel like the ti”
“I was let go from my start up a week after announcing my pregnancy and in the middle of filing with EEOC over that whole situation. I have been able to secure an offer for a law firm as a remote employee, but I am now close to 26 weeks pregnant. They are in the middle of the background check after which I will have a finalized date. I didn’t mention my pregnancy yet, I’m honestly jaded so been keeping it to myself. Should I disclose once I receive a start date or should I wait till I’ve actually”
“Just want to say good on you for being brave to find/ switch jobs during a transitional stage like motherhood. It's admirable. Do what's best for you and your baby, don't feel bad for waiting to tell. Good luck!”
“Interviewing tomorrow and I’m 23 wks pregnant. Do I tell them right off the bat to be transparent? Or am I just shooting myself in the foot? Either way I’d tell them before final/offer stage but having a hard time with this one. submitted by /u/Beautiful-Mood-5061 [link] [comments]”
“So I’ve been given an official job offer to start a new job on the 31st. I have accepted it but I am about to give birth any day now and I’m sure they didn’t know about pregnancy in my interview. Do I contact hr or my supervisor? How to I communicate with new employer about this? Can they withdrawal my job offer because of this? submitted by /u/KookyCount1953 [link] [comments]”
“I’m currently 33 weeks pregnant (due in the second week of September) and interviewing for a full-time position that I’m really excited about. So far I’ve made it through the HR phone screen and an interview with the hiring manager. The next step is an in-person panel interview, which will likely take place during the third week of August, when I’ll be around 35 weeks pregnant. If I pass that, there will be one final interview with a VP. Here’s my dilemma... By the time of the panel interview, m”
