“I got bit by a tick yesterday and went to my local urgent care this morning to ask about a prophylactic. I am still breastfeeding my son (10 months) and the dr recommended I pump and dump while taking the pills. It is doxycycline. She read the side effects and said it is okay in…”

“If a breastfeeding woman is in the icu intubated, does the nurse have ger pump so she doesn’t get engorged/lose supply/get mastitis? I’m assuming the milk would be unusable because of the meds but I’m curious how it’s handled.”

Several posts highlight difficulties faced by breastfeeding parents, including concerns about medication side effects, milk supply issues, and navigating feeding choices. There's also anxiety around potential impacts of parental diet on the baby.

“Hello! I am exclusively pumping due to my baby’s latch issues. We are currently working with chiro and lactation, but have to travel for 10 days across the country in a month and I need to be realistic she will probably most likely not be exclusively on the breast by then. She will be 12 weeks when we go. That being said, I am super stressed and looking for advice on exclusively pumping while traveling (flying so packing space is limited.). How many supplies did you bring? How did you dry everyt”

“I have a lansinoh plug in pump and I like it but I need something I can just pop on and move around in. Not looking to spend a whole bunch since I’m EBF, just something I can use easily for the times I leave home without the baby. submitted by /u/No_Trouble772 [link] [comments]”

“I have an overnight away from my baby coming up, and frankly, I don’t 100% trust my mom with frozen breastmilk (long story short, she has a really difficult time with directions), so I would like to leave enough fresh. I am somewhere between a just-enougher and a slight over-supplier. I pump some mornings and get about 4oz to freeze. Most mornings, though, I don’t pump. If I pump in the afternoon after a feed, I can usually get an ounce or two. My theory is that I should be able to pump about 14”

“Okay I am a low supplier , been triple feeding for 6 months and I currently use the spectra pump. Currently the flanges suck my whole nipples in and milk comes out okay. I know your whole nipple isn’t meant to do this but I have tried several flanges, soft, hard etc. I’ve had my nipples measured, been given insets by breastfeeding consultants etc. I’ve tried pumping pals but but unless my nipples are getting inserted into the whole thing, my supply dips. My spectra flanges are 28mm but the inset”

“FTM to a 3 week old and I have been EBF. I try to squeeze in a pump after first AM feed to build a small stash/so husband can give a bottle while I nap a few hours at night, but I have the Spectra S1 and find it challenging to pump the opposite breast from where baby is feeding. If I wait until he falls asleep and try to set him down so I can pump both sides, he almost immediately wakes up, and when he’s awake he wants to eat. I swear he can smell the milk I’m pumping. I’ve been looking at weara”

“I’m not often away from my baby for more than an hour or so but my husband and I are going to a baseball game about an hour away next month and I need help. I had some hand me down wearable pumps that finally bit the dust so I “splurged” and got the eufy s1 heated pumps.. I HATED THEM. I wouldn’t even get a half oz after a session so I returned them and have been hauling my spectra to the hair salon or using it in the car after our one dinner date. I need to have some portables to help simplify”

“Hiya, First time mum and I’m looking for a breast pump that I can use multiple times a day. I am 8 days post partum. I did buy the midwife mumma but it isn’t great and the battery dies really quickly. I don’t care about it being a hands free wearable one. Please give me your suggestions and feedback. “My baby is 13 weeks old and I nurse on demand. In the first few weeks I would pump to relieve engorgement and always use a milk catcher on the opposite side from which I was nursing. I really tried to stop pumping at all because I don’t want an obnoxious over supply. Lately my breasts have felt super full no matter what and I’m uncomfortable. I’m leaking constantly and drenching shirts. I don’t want to NOT pump and cause an under supply and be uncomfortable but I don’t want to have to pump every”

“I’m going back to work soon (I’m a healthcare worker who works by seeing patients face to face in clinics regularly) and it’s too busy to get regular pumping breaks (it is how it is, I can’t change this). Are there any breast pumps I can wear during the clinics that aren’t noticeable and don’t make noticeable sounds? submitted by /u/Nearby_Childhood_448 [link] [comments]”

“I have J cup boobs and they point down. Has anyone with similar monster boobs found a wearable they had success with? Dreading that feeling of being stuck with the pump on, unable to bend over and pick up crying baby (which happened with the evil awful horrible no good medela freestyle) submitted by /u/Englishontrail [link] [comments]”

“Husband will be going back to work soon which means I’ll the primarily bottle feeding throughout the day, however a lot of my pump times lineup with her feed times, and I try to not use the portable pumps too much because they’re not as effective and I’ve gotten clogged before. I guess my question is for pumping Moms how did you manage feeding your baby and also pumping and also getting stuff around the house done submitted by /u/MaddiepaddyLambert [link] [comments]”

“I’m looking for easiest to use while driving wearable pump that is easy to get milk out of and clean. I don’t need hospital grade emptying, just ease of use. The larger the capacity the better too. Reasoning - I have an oversupply and am engorged every morning. I have the spectra but can’t exactly walk around and get two kids out the door with it on. I just need to be able to pump while getting ready for work, only enough to ease my let down so I’m not drowning my 4 month old when he eats. I als”

I am still breastfeeding my son (10 months) and the dr recommended I pump and dump while taking the pills. It is doxycycline. She read the side effects and said it is okay in short term for BF , but still suggested pumping and dumping? “FTM here getting in the swing of exclusively breastfeeding my LO. I have found that getting out of pjs first thing in the morning has done loads for my mental health and setting a good tone for the day. I have invested in a few nursing bras/tanks, but find most days I just want to put on a fitted but stretchy top or t shirt I can lift up or pull down (no bra needed, I’m lucky that I’m not leaking too much- just small enough a burp cloth can catch without issue). Does anyone have any recommendati”

“My daughter has had way more trapped gas and spit ups the last two days. Since Thursday I've been eating a ton of dairy, way more than normal. Breakfast sandwiches, nachos, and ice cream (lol long weekend nastiness). Could me eating kind of differently be affecting her even if she has no allergy? She's 4 months old and has reflux/takes pepcid for it. submitted by /u/ASimpleSideSalad [link] [comments]”
