Many new mothers express anxieties surrounding their baby’s health, ranging from concerns about pregnancy-related issues like alcohol consumption and potential harm to worries about physical injuries during childbirth or accidents. There's also a significant amount of stress related to breastfeeding challenges, including nipple pain, milk supply issues, and infant feeding difficulties.

“I’m 13w5d pregnant and had a kitchen fire. I’m terrified I may have harmed my baby. I was cooking and forgot about the oil on the stove. Suddenly, it caught fire, and the flames spread to my kitchen curtain. Unfortunately, I had put up a synthetic fabric curtain in the kitchen because I thought it looked cute. I never imagined something like this could happen. I also had some autumn decorations made of plastic and Styrofoam in the kitchen, and those caught fire and burned as well. In the moment,”

“I'm 38 weeks tomorrow, second pregnancy. I've had braxton hicks since mid-second trimester. I haven't been diagnosed, but pretty sure that I have irritable uterus, because EVERYTHING causes me to contract. This makes me concerned that I'm not gonna know when I'm actually in labor, as I was induced the first time. I know there's no "for sure" signs, but for the last few nights, they've gotten even more unrelenting, and they come with some pain and waves of...”

“23 weeks pregnant. Without thinking about it I was in a small enclosed room with no ventilation and a steam vaporizer with Vicks vaposteam in it for about 5 hours. Googling has told me that the concerning ingredient is camphor. Anyway I’m really scared. I feel fine and baby is moving. Has anyone ever used vaposteam while pregnant without adverse affects? submitted by /u/cleosfunhouse [link] [comments]”

Because she hasn’t moved position she constantly kicks the same spots and I am SO SORE. It literally feels like I am bruised from the inside. I feel so guilty, but I literally cannot stand the feeling of her movements anymore. She NEVER stops moving. It doesn’t matter if I’m standing up laying down sitting down”

“I am more anxious than I should be and feel guilty about it. I am nervous that my baby girl is growing too much. We have to get monthly ultrasounds because of my low iron. I have been getting weekly iron infusions which have been helping. We just went to our 33 week ultrasound and baby was 6 pounds and 3 oz (give or take 15 oz they said). 97th percentile. At 28 weeks she was 89th percentile at 3 pounds 2 ounces. I don't know why I am so nervous about this, maybe for selfish reasons, but I fe”

“Cureently 33 weeks. After some all over body itching lasting for several days and no rash anywhere, my doctor has ordered the bloodwork to check for choleostatis after ruling out PUPP, and suspecting choleostatis. I'm terrified. I know the internet is not your friend and can be pretty forward with scary risks associated with stuff but I'm just so scared for my baby. I’m so scared for my 6 week check up (and sex). I’ve read some comments on random posts about people suffering from pelvic pain months after birth. “I (24) am a first time mom with boy-girl twins who are now 6 months old. When my daughter was 2 weeks old, a resident at the pediatricians office dropped a can of formula on her head and she’s had a scar ever since. Last Friday, my daughter got ahold of my fiancée’s PlayStation controller while it was charging, pulled it off the TV stand and dropped it on her head. Today I had both twins on the recliner with me. I had them both lying on the leg rest so I could change diapers and rock one to slee”

But they found a healthy HB, measured exactly on track. But they couldn’t find the source of the bleed. I was sent off with some bleeding is normal. We don’t know why it’s happening but baby looks fine. It was resolving, turning to brown. But today I woke up tmro more small clots and red blood and again throughout the day”

“I am currently 26 weeks first pregnancy. My little girl has been moving like crazy until yesterday she slowed down. I am a daycare teacher and move nonstop throughout the day and when I finally sit is when she goes crazy. But yesterday it’s she took a minute to wake up and I wasn’t getting her normal hard kicks and punches. They were there, just not as strong. I wanted to go to the hospital but I am feeling her so what if it was just a sleepy day for her. I absolutely hate going to the hospital”

“I’m almost 26 weeks pregnant. I’ve been in twice to labour ward triage for not feeling the baby move as much. The first time I was 23 weeks and they were super reassuring and said I did the right thing. This time they made me feel like I’m crazy / over the top (they didn’t say this but the tone was like this) and that you shouldn’t even notice a pattern till at least 30 weeks… but I normally feel the baby most of the day and today i didn’t for many hours. Okay yall, LO is nearly 3 weeks so I know I’m deep in the trenches specially after a very traumatic emergency cesarean where I lost a ton of blood so I’m trying to give myself grace, but am I doing something wrong? I constantly see online people posting what they do during wake windows - go for walks, play on mat, but how am I supposed to do that when I feel like changing, feeding and then settling takes up the entire time? “13 weeks today with my first pregnancy. How do you stop noticing every single thing that feels different in your body? And how do you stop worrying? I’ve already called my OB’s nurse with worries and questions a few times and now I’m scared to bombard them with more if more questions come up. “My husband and I are first time parents and both run extremely anxious. Our 9 week old had a fever last night of 100.9 and was spitting out the Tylenol, barely eating and breathing rapidly. He just got his two month vaccines earlier that day. We decided to take him to the er just to be safe because he was super hot. I got so worried, I took her to the children’s emergency room two days ago to do an xray. They said it was just gas. Last night, she threw up green. I asked ChatGPT and Gemini what that means. Long story short they monitored me for about 24 hours and literally right when I went to get discharged baby had a heart dip on the monitor, so then they needed to see 12 hours on the monitor of no heart dipping.
