“My online order got delayed in transit so hastly added to the tank, only to discover one of the fish was covered in spots. Quickly removed and quarantined but it was to late. Few days later, white spots everywhere. Buuut the BLUE is so pretty!…”
“I have 2 telescopes in a 55 gallon tank. All of the water parameter are normal (0/0/less than 40). One recently became lethargic, less interested in food, and has two small whitish/yellow lumps under his eyeball. I separated him and I'm treating it with polygaurd, but I have no idea what this is. The other has no symptoms. Has anyone seen this before? Does anyone have any idea what it is? Thank you! it's pretty impossible to take a clear photo, but the lumps are hanging off of the goldfi”
“Noticed some white spots on my black phantom tetras but not on the glowlight tetras. Is this ich? I have 13 fish and 6-10 ghost shrimp plus a netrite snail. Advice is appreciated submitted by /u/ITrytoWrite22 [link] [comments]”
“I will upload some pictures of some I took of my betta fish I really didn't notice them until I looked at the pictures but he appears to have some white spots on his fans and pectoral fins I've already ordered Hikari X just to be safe and it'll be here Saturday and I've also turned my heater in the aquarium to 81 degrees because I have ghost shrimp in the tank as well and can't go too much further submitted by /u/Lost_Veterinarian884 [link] [comments]”
“I have an aquarium with Cory's, tetras amd shrimp but as I was doing the water change today, I noticed that my tetras have white spots on them. The corys look fine but I'm assuming that these are ich which has me stressed out because what's the best way to treat this with shrimp? The medicine I have says it's unsafe for them and turning the temp up to speed up the parasite cycle seems unsafe for the shrimp as well. Thanks for the advice submitted by /u/Timely-Sleep323”
“I was stupid and didn't quarantine some new fish because I didn't have an extra tank or filter (I had just given those to my friend) when I could have used a bucket, and now I think my fish have Ick. Is it actually ick? How do I treat it? I really don't want to lose these fish. The betta in this tank is already seeming lethargic. Sorry about bad photos, they wouldn't sit still and I just did a water change, so it stirred up some dirt submitted by /u/ConstantChocolate4”
“These white/grayish marks appeared on my fish over the last few days, they’ve started flashing trying to get it off as well. Any advice is appreciated. submitted by /u/TristanLurksMostly [link] [comments]”
“Pic of tank because I think it's awesome and I love it, bit we've got a little problem.... Stock: 10 Chili Rasbora, 8 blue dream shrimp, infinity ramshorn snails. Fully cycled before stocking. Stocked gradually over weeks (blue dreams first, waited a while, then chilis.). Tank kept at 78 degrees reliably. Because it is a 10 gallon and I have been adding (and because I am diligent like that) I have tested water parameters DAILY and it's been perfection for weeks. Then today one of my”
“Just noticed this white speck on my Bolivian Ram, could it be ich? Non of my other fish have it but I just added new plants so I’m worried they might have carried the parasite even though a dipped then in Hydrogen Peroxided. submitted by /u/Monacrow [link] [comments]”
“I noticed my goldfish seemed to be acting off, and saw he had what looked like small white spots (I thought it was ich). A spot on his fin seems to also be a bit fuzzy looking, so I’m also worried it’s columnaris. After looking a bit more, I noticed what looked to be something moving on the fish. I took him out and got it off with tweezers. What the fuck is this?! I thought maybe some type of leech, but I have no clue at all. I’m really worried for my little ranchu that is also in that same tank”
“[it’s not dead!] I’m basically new to having fish. Me and my bf did a lot of research before going into it (and he has owned fish) so we spent a lot of time setting uo the tank and today brought home 4 Cory catfish. 3 of them are perfectly fine, water is at perfect levels so Werw not sure what’s going on with our 4th? It has been laying still pretty much the whole time and on its side but I could see it was still breathing. Came back about 1.5hours later and noticed it had finally moved places b”
“Im trying to do a bit of research but can’t seem to find an answer on this. I just got a few cardinal tetras yesterday and today I noticed this cloudy section on the back half of one. Is this a deadly/spreadable disease I should be worried about now? TIA submitted by /u/Horse_Knuckle [link] [comments]”
“Just got this fish 3 days ago. All the fish look and act fine, but this one has this spot/damaged mark on him. What is it and how might I treat it? submitted by /u/Thelazyathlete [link] [comments]”
“Just noticed this small, raised white growth/spot at the base of my guppy’s left fin. He’s still eating normally and swimming, although he might be working a little harder than usual. He’s the only fish remaining in the tank, with Neocaridina shrimp. Does this look like ich, fungus, bacterial infection, or something else? I’ve tested ammonia and it is 0 ppm. Any advice on what I should do would be appreciated! submitted by /u/xoxeym [link] [comments]”
“Hi fishkeepers . My blue neon tetra glofish has recently gotten a thing like a pimple and we don't know what this is .I asked a vet and he said it is bacteria and advised us to add a full unpilled unbridled pea in the water and that it is antibacterial and if it doesn't help to add an antibacterial medicine but I am not sure if he is right .Pls respond because I need help and give me advise to help the fish . “Those little white dots are moving and even 1 jumped off the tube 😩 I treated momos tank with melafix last week and these appeared this morning (he did the full 1 week treatment for finnrot) should I just do 100 percent water change? “might be a dumb question but i’ve never dealt with it before. the fish is already quarantined right now just incase. none of my other fish have any spots or anything. for context i got this fish from a tank i bought on marketplace. they were quarantined for a month and have been in my tank for about 2 weeks and did not have these spots before hand. also if it is ick should i also treat my main tank? thanks for the help! submitted by /u/Better-Glove-9583 [link] [comments]”
“I just got these fish around 2 weeks ago and I just noticed these spots. I want to be really sure before I treat bc this happened to me a couple months ago with new stock and I assumed it was ick and treated it with ick remedy only to find out I was bacterial after most of my stock died and didn’t take to the treatment. Can I treat with ick remedy and kanaplex at the same time? Or what should I do submitted by /u/Significant-Pick-632 [link] [comments]”
“Yesterday my fish was fine (female xifo) and now she got these white spots on her. I have her in a 112L aquarium with a few neon tetras, 4 mollies and 2 platties. What do you suggest for me? Can I cure her? I had an episode of ich a month ago because I bought some tetras from a fishy place. But this doesn't look like ich. Maybe Columnaris... I don't know. Yesterday I did a 25% water change She was fine BEFORE that and now this happened... submitted by /u/Acrobatic-Section-93”

“I got some new cherry barbs about 2 weeks ago. A few days ago they started flashing a bit, and then I noticed a few white spots on them. Is this ich? I began ich treatment with ich x, but today is day 4 of treatment and they’re still flashing a lot. Some of them are a bit lethargic and others are swimming a bit erratically on occasion. Is this just the ich running its course? Following the ich x instructions with a daily 30% water change and treating with the meds. Most are eating fine. Ammonia”
“I am currently on Day 3 of treating an Ich outbreak in my 60-gallon breeder (dirted base with a Black Diamond sand cap) using Seachem ParaGuard and Seachem StressGuard. I have a plant order arriving in 1 to 2 days from Aquarium Plants Factory with the following: 3x Cryptocoryne parva Tissue Culture 4x Hygrophila Siamensis 53B 4x Hygro Willow / Hygrophila Angustifolia 1x Anubias Nana Mother Plant My Questions: Is it safe to introduce these new plants into the display tank while active Ich”
“Any ideas what this white spot on his head is? New tank, fish just added on Friday. Tank was cycled, using fish safe ammonia, before adding fish. Did a large water change before their arrival. 20 gallon long, 12 julii corydora and 12 kubotai rasboras at the moment. Ph 7.5 ish Ammonia 0 Nitrite 0 Nitrate 3ish. (Hydroponics eating all the nitrates, it go to zero a few times already while cycling and I added aquarium fertilizer.) This little guy is the only one with any visible issues. I wouldn’t c”
“Hi all, I was hoping for some helping in diagnosing these spots on one of my fish. A second fish has some similar but smaller spots along the tail fin. I initially suspected ich and have given two doses of API super ich cure and will be doing the 25% water change. Please let me know what you think it might be/ any advice. Thanks is advance. submitted by /u/ExtantRed [link] [comments]”
“I noticed this probably over a month ago, at the same time my tank had Ich so I just assumed it was that. I treated the tank with a half dose (pleco and loaches in tank so couldn’t do full dose) until the Ich was gone but this tetra still has this. It seems to be deteriorating the tail. My hospital tank is also occupied currently with my betta due to some other issues, so I don’t know what I can do for him. I have a tiny (1.7L) decorative tank with only plants but I don’t think I can use that du”
“This guy has been pale since i got these fish abt a month ago. I was away for the weekend and just came home to find pale guy staying near surface, acting lethargic and white spots on his fins. I also noticed one of his fins is missing a piece, someone must've nipped it or sum. Everybody else in the tank is acting normal. I believe it might be ich? Spots dont look raised. I live in europe, nordics, what would be the best medicine available in here? Tank is 8 months old, 14 gallons. pH 7,5, t”
“Hello, I recently got some phoenix and chilli rasboras and I noticed one has some white spots but since it’s not on the fins I’m not sure if it’s ich or just coloration? “I got two honey gourami, 8 harlequin rasboras and 1 pleco for my 29 gal tank exactly a week ago. My pleco has been very still and appears to have tiny white dots on him which I originally thought were sand particles from substrate he was in when I spotted them around 3 days ago. He’s now always on the glass when I check in with him. I’m worried and I also want to help cure him and prevent my other fish from becoming infected. I bought some hikari ich x, filter floss, airpump because I am worried”
“Help!!! I’ve noticed 2 of my blue acara developed tiny white spots all over about a week after I introduced a striped raphael catfish to my tank. I’m going to assume he’s the culprit. This is my most established tank so do not want to lose everyone. Before I start treatment I would like opinions. Pics of the acaras and catfish. “Hi, recently got some of this stuff to treat the white spot in my tank. It says to do the first dose, then wait for 4 days to do the second dose. What I want to know is can I do a water change before doing the second dose? I don’t really want to wait an extended period of time to change the water because of the bio load in my tank. Thanks for any advice! submitted by /u/ReasonableCourse1679 [link] [comments]”
“Snowball pleco and clown pleco have these spots on them. i’m not quite sure if it’s ich or epi, leaning more towards EPI I suspected ich already and have been treating for Ich with “Kordon ich attach”(because it’s a community tank so I used a gentler treatment), however the spots on the plecos have not improved submitted by /u/FACEBREAKER11111 [link] [comments]”

“I have a very scuffed up looking tetra and i'm unsure on the cause. Is this a disease? I was immediatly suspicious of ich/white spot however hes been like this for the past week and a half and none of the others are showing any signs of white spot? He is eating fine and although he is injured and slightly hobbly he is still very active and otherwise acting normal. Maybe hes just been in a fight with another fish, i do have a food aggy bristlenose...either way is there anything i can do to he”
“My 11g had ich and I’ve been using ich-x for a little over 2 weeks because the spots weren’t quite going away(today was the last day) and the tests have been coming back all 0’s. I read a couple different things like it’s normal with medication, or too many water changes can do that and ruin the cycle.. etc. I was just curious if it’s okay for an established tank to test all 0s or if something is up? submitted by /u/truzzjoeey [link] [comments]”

“I have just moved him to a temporary tank and seeded with sponge from a clean established tank, which is why water is cloudy. It will clear. He is interested in food and has been resting more upright since this video was taken an hour or two ago. He needs rest, clean water, dark, oxygen etc but my main query is about the whiteness around his gill as not sure what it is. Background (tho my main q is just what’s up with his gills) He is usually in a community tank. 2 months ago I treated tank with”
“I’ve had this tank going for a couple of months. 10 gallons, 5 galaxy rasboras. One started hanging near the top yesterday and this morning developed this white band near the back. I moved it to its own little tank. Wondering what this is and what the best thing to do for this fish is. Water parameters were good, 0 ammonia, 0 nitrite, 10pm nitrate. Did a water change before leaving for work after reading online it could be contagious for the other fish. submitted by /u/ConditionLanky”

“So I had a Congo tetra pair, absolutely fine for nearly a year and recently I added 3 full grown males and one female. Shortly after adding, maybe 2/3 days one of the new addition males started showing what looked to me as mouth rot. This developed fast and spread to all the other Congo tetras, I have treated the tank with interpet anti fungus & finrot twice although the second time the other fish in the tank really didn’t enjoy it, gasping for air etc even with the airator turned to the max”

“Hey, I am new to keeping a community tank. I was cleaning today and noticed only one of my black skirt tetras has this white spot look on him, as well as some fins looking damaged. I’m aware of fin nipping (which has been going on) But what is the white? Should I be concerned? I just want to do my best for these fishies, I love them a lot and try everything I can. I don’t want them to be sick. He’s the only one affected (poor little Moe.) TIA! submitted by /u/artsyizzy1537 [link] ”
