“I have been looking for information about this everywhere, and I can't seem to find much. I'm GBS+ and hoping to limit my rounds of antibiotics to 1 or 2 rounds max, but I'm not sure how to navigate that if my water breaks earlier in the process. I previously had a very negative…”

“My almost 13-month-old’s one-year labs showed ferritin of 12 and hemoglobin of 10.5. His doctor recommended an iron supplement (he vomits every time) and limiting nursing to 3–4 times daily. Previously, we nursed on demand, including throughout the night. He eats solids, and I…”

“So I read out about the iron levels of babies dropping at 6.5 months and how it affects their brain development and behaviour etc etc. However, I’m having trouble trying to get my formula-fed baby to eat iron-rich foods such as beans, any kind of vegetables, chicken or beef…”

Parents are actively researching and seeking evidence-based approaches to infant care, including iron supplementation, addressing anxieties around social media influence, cat safety with newborns, neonatal sepsis risk assessment, and potty training strategies. They value intellectual honesty and data-driven decision making.

“So I read out about the iron levels of babies dropping at 6.5 months and how it affects their brain development and behaviour etc etc. However, I’m having trouble trying to get my formula-fed baby to eat iron-rich foods such as beans, any kind of vegetables, chicken or beef. Whether it’s pureed, minced or blended into his porridge, he will spit it out and refuse it. We have had no choice but to resort to iron-fortified cereals. However I don’t want this to be his only source. Does anybody have a”

“Hemoglobin 10.6 at 13 months. We are starting an iron supplement since we already have a pretty good eater and iron rich foods. She drinks 14oz of oat milk a day and the rest water. For those of you who used supplements, which did you use? I mainly am worried about staining teeth, so I’m more interested in a powder than liquid. EllaOla looks promising but idk what’s just good marketing. Let me know what you used and how you served it! submitted by /u/river_5826 [link] [comments”

“Specifically I’m referring to micronutrients - iron and calcium - for toddlers (but general advice for any age and stage is welcome) I’m in Australia and the guidelines say that toddlers require 700mg of calcium per day, and 7mg of iron per day. There is just no way my kid is meeting these requirements - and he’s a pretty good eater compared to other kids I know And on top of that, calcium (or dairy?) interferes with the absorption of iron so I’m not even sure if he ate enough iron he would even”

“My son is 9 months. At six weeks he developed colic pretty bad. Tried everything. Reflux med, cut dairy from my diet, cut soy, cut caffeine, cut vegetables, cut chocolate. Had a IBCLC check his latch, was assessed for ties, went to a speech language therapist to check his swallow. No swallow study was needed as it looked fine. Put on hypoallergenic formula and had a slight improvement but now at 9 months he’s still very intense and hard to take care of. He screams and whines on and off all day.”

“Hello this is my first post in this sub and I hope it is the right place for this question. I am an American that recently moved to Europe and I have a 10 month old baby. In the US, we were told to give iron supplements from about 5 months because the baby's supply of iron from the mother during pregnancy runs out around then. In the US it is also very easy to find iron fortified foods for babies. In Europe, you need a blood test and then presciption to get iron supplements. It is also very”

“Hi all, So I’ve been giving my 7.5 month old EBF baby girl iron supplements to ensure that she’s getting enough iron while being able to avoid pushing too hard on iron rich foods (which she’s not really into yet). But now I’m reading this from La Leche League ( https://www.lllc.ca/iron-and-breastfeeding ): “Some babies given iron supplements experience digestive upsets, such as vomiting and diarrhea. These supplements can change the balance of the gut flora. Your milk contains two proteins that”

I'm GBS+ and hoping to limit my rounds of antibiotics to 1 or 2 rounds max, but I'm not sure how to navigate that if my water breaks earlier in the process. I previously had a very negative experience taking antibiotics and while I will take them to protect my baby, I want to take the smallest possible amount that will still offer him protection. One OB referred to me this calculator ( https://n”

“Hi all! I have been doing research into the no pants method. I am a FTM, and I have been looking into it, but a lot of sources say 18 months is a good time to potty train, I’ll be honest here… I don’t want to wait that long. I really would love to get my baby mostly potty trained when she is better at walking and pulling herself onto things. She’s crawling rn so I’m asking this in not a huge rush, but when she is good at walking&pulling herself up onto things (I plan on just using a child st”

“I am not a father, currently I don't even have a girlfriend. separation anxiety is a sad thing that all babies and toddlers go through. I wonder if a video call with mom every once in a while would be a good or a bad idea to deal with it. submitted by /u/emperorsyndrome [link] [comments]”

“My baby (EBF) was started on iron supplementation after 4 months of age. I believe this is routine practice in the country where I live, possibly because iron deficiency is more common due to genetic factors. My paediatrician prescribed Ferrum Hausmann drop (iron(III) hydroxide polymaltose). She will check the blood level when my baby is 6 months old. My baby has been taking it for 10 days (3 drops per day) without any problems, but I noticed it contains parabens. When I asked about paraben-free”
