“This weekend was the worst we’ve ever had. Up to this point, we’ve had no issues with my boys behavior. (I hate saying it like that because it implies he’s doing something wrong, which I don’t think at all!) We’re trying to help his reflux…”
“My 8 month old is teething hard and still getting over a cough we all caught from my toddler's daycare. So I understand that it might still be a couple weeks until he's not in pain or experiencing irritation. HOWEVER. He clearly loves sleep and loves cuddling, but sleep has always been really difficult. First, he had reflux. I'm pretty sure that's resolved now because the issues he seems to have aren't the same anymore. He used to have to sleep propped up and so would sleep t”
“HOW are you getting your babies to sleep?! 😭 My 4-month-old has been struggling for about 2 months now. She wakes up screaming over and over and the only thing that consistently gets her back to sleep is a bottle, which I really don’t want to rely on as a sleep association. We’ve tried rocking, bouncing, white/brown noise, different wake windows, earlier/later bedtimes, etc. and nothing seems to help. She’s currently on omeprazole. Did anything specifically help your CMPA/reflux baby sleep bett”
“Hi! ❤️ I'm looking for some advice or experiences with my** 5.5-month-old baby boy (almost 6 months) . Since birth, he's always been an extremely quiet, chilled and sleepy baby. I've been worried about his development and wondering if anyone has experienced something similar. Was a very sleepy newborn and still loves sleeping. Sleeps 8-8 and loves his naps Rarely coos or makes “ooo” and “ahh” sounds. Doesn't babble or blow raspberries. Sometimes makes humming, grunting or squeali”
“My 5 mo old has been slightly congested since she was born. It seems to just hang in the back of her nose. I've tried everything and nothing seems to work. I've even brought it up to her pediatrician who doesn't seem concerned. It sounds like she struggles to breathe sometimes. I use saline mist to keep it from crusting but is there a solution to removing the mucus? submitted by /u/New_Government2609 [link] [comments]”
“I think my 9.5 month old might be going through a sleep regression. He had been sleep trained with Ferber since 6 months. I thought maybe teething but he's mostly happy during the day. Trialed ibuprofen and didn't seem to help overnight. He's been eating less so I thought he was sick. But no fever and chugs morning and night so I think he's just a super super busy body. First a couple nights of one wake, then it became two nights of two wakes, and last night was every 1-3 hours.”

“Has anyone had their child tested by an ENT due to dark circles or bags under their eyes? I'm unsure how I would know if my 14 month old breathes out of her mouth enough to be a concern. Occasionally she sleeps with her mouth open, but I can't tell where her breath is coming from. While she's active and playing, I notice she inhales from her mouth a lot but I'm not able to tell if it's just due to her being active or not. Just curious if anyone has had the same concern and ha”
“My Baby 👶 girl literally started her 4 month regression to the day she turned 4 months which was Oct. 1st. How long did this stage last for you? We have gotten spoiled with her sleeping mostly through the night for the last month and now we are back to being up every couple hours and struggling to put her down. Also, since I'm going to be up so much, any good podcast recommendations? submitted by /u/Nearby-Chipmunk-8100 [link] [comments]”
“I’m desperate for help and/or solidarity. My almost 9 month old was sleep trained (we did cry it out) at 5 months, and she did AMAZING. We had a month and a half of sleepy bliss…and then the teething started. Over the last month and a half, her sleep has gotten progressively worse. She went from being able to sleep in her crib to now waking 10-15 minutes after she’s laid in it. She is able to put herself to sleep and we get one “longer” stretch at the beginning of the night (about 1 hour), but a”
“LO is 13 weeks old. I have taken him to the mall twice. On both occasions he seemed to lose it after a while and i think it’s the noises overstimulating him. Are noise cancelling earphones a solution to this? If yes, what brand do you guys recommend, submitted by /u/Illustrious-Price-65 [link] [comments]”
“Hi all! I just need some advice. My 5 1/2 month old got a mild cold with pretty much just heavy congestion that started on 9/17. Initially he had no suction-able mucus that he would swallow and eventually poop out. A few days later we started being able to suction clear white mucus out of his nostrils. Throughout the day he’s generally been fine. He’s just congested during naps and especially at night. We suction before bed and have a cool mist humidifier running all day and night. I don’t know”
“Using the Soothe Then Remove method, because allegedly it helps avoid dependency on the dummy, and I'm noticing she's sucking on her fingers a lot. She's 11 weeks old, so she's right in that "exploring her hands" and "learning to self soothe" phase, so it seems developmentally normal, but I know from experience a thumb sucking habit is much harder to break than a dummy dependency. Is it just that she's in that phase, or should I let her keep the dummy when”
“My 10 month baby girl has been doing weird “glitches” for months. She makes snorting noises and clinches her fists and tenses up. It is “cute” but a little alarming. “Ok so I'm in the THICK of the 4 month sleep regression, so I need some tips. It's been going on for like 1 ½ to 2 weeks. My baby goes down fine, the second his noise machine is on after his bath and pj's are on he is out. No issue there It's the middle of the night wakings, I try to not pick him up and try to soothe him in the crib but he just freaks out til I pick him up. I am trying to let him learn how to self soothe but don't know how. I pick him up and rock him and make”

“Good lord my newborn (4 weeks) sounds like he's fighting for his life when he sleeps. Grunting and squirming and whimpering. What age did this chill out for your babies? “My LO is 4 months old, he has slept straight through the night for about 2 months but we have seemed to hit the 4 month sleep regression. I am terrified of SIDs and struggling as I can’t see any safe way to sleep at this point. At 3 months my baby could roll both sides tummy to back but not back to tummy, he has stopped rolling since hitting 4 months but will roll himself to his side when he’s playing. We are strictly doing contact naps as I cannot get him to sleep any other way, the issue is co”
“My 6.5 month old has a terrible cold, with super snotty runny nose which gets way worse when he’s laying down. He’s been a great sleeper but now waking every 2 hours because he can’t breathe through his nose. He doesn’t want to eat just wants to be held straight up and then falls asleep. We’re using a Frida snot sucker with some success but this is really hard to keep up. Any tips?? submitted by /u/bright-greeneyes [link] [comments]”
“I’m mostly looking for someone to tell me that this is normal. My baby will be six months old in three days. About a month ago, we started our vacation at our family home. Everything was going really well, and whenever possible, we continued following the baby’s schedule, etc. Since he was almost four months old, he had been sleeping from 10:30 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. straight through the night, without needing us to intervene to help him fall back asleep, feed him, or put his pacifier back in. But fo”
“Do you have a LO and used the ninni long term? How is your LO’s mouth and teeth? Anything wonky? My 6 month old LO loves her ninni to soothe her before bed and before a nap. She only uses it for comfort before she sleeps. But I saw some recommendations to phase out soothers after 6 months which has been wondering what the long term impact of the Ninni is on other babies. Haven’t seen this discussed widely with this soother. Thank you!🙏 submitted by /u/MountainManiac21 [link] [”
“Taking him into pediatrician today to double check for ear infection. He is 8.5 months old. Not a big fan of solids yet but we are trying our best. Usually really good with nursing but since this cold virus the past few days 100% refusing the breast because the first time he tried he coughed and panicked. I imagine he is also having some discomfort (we are giving ibuprofen) and he likes to self control how he does bottles so it's probably a comfort thing with independence due to a stuffy nos”
“When my baby sleeps during the day she either naps on me or in her swing which is flat but slightly elevated on one side. She doesn't spit up at all and sleeps soundly. When i place her in her bassinet at night (graco smartsense soothing that rocks) she sleeps well but even after being held for 20-30 minutes after eating still spits up. Can I place a towel under the mattress on one side to make it slight elevated? Its under the mattress, so there are still no blankets with her. submitt”
“My 14 week old daughter has had issues feeding for the past almost 6 weeks now. I took her to her pediatrician, they diagnosed her with silent reflux, and prescribed Pepcid. She’s been on the Pepcid for almost 4 weeks now with very little improvement. It’s a struggle to get her to eat at least 20oz per day. It seems very sporadic, but sometimes she will drink 2-3oz then pull away from the bottle crying and arching or just spit it out and not seem hungry anymore despite it being 3-5 hours since s”
“7m baby gets stridor every time she poops, has anyone experienced this? She started having episodes of inspiratory stridor about a month ago, and I’ve now realized it happens basically every single time she poops/strains. It’s worse with more solids. She’ll make a high-pitched noise when breathing in for several breaths, then once she’s done pooping it stops and she goes completely back to normal. No blue lips or trouble breathing between episodes. But it’s super scary. She has a history of very”

“My baby is 5 months old and I question everything… my anxiety is so bad I got on Lexapro. Is it normal to question everything? I’m like is this normal is that normal? He started doing this cough cry type thing when he wants attention. And am I always wondering what’s normal and what’s not. Does anyone else struggle with this?? Or is it just me. I just feel like it’s gonna get worse the older he gets, I’m a FTM so this is all new. I’ve struggled with anxiety in the past so I kinda knew I was gonn”
“Hi all, My baby is 21 weeks/16 weeks adjusted age. The past few days, he has been much more cranky in general during the day, particularly around his nap times. He is much harder to settle and then once he’s asleep he wakes every 30-45 min. Luckily, nighttime sleep is relatively good. Another difference is that he used to consume around 4oz per feed and now is having more frequent tiny 1-2oz feeds during the day, and one or two 6oz feeds in the night. It seems to be developmental, but a part of”
“Hi, I am desperate for some peace of mind. I stupidly took my 3 month old to a parade that involved loud drumming and instruments. My decibel app said we averaged around 80-90, but sometimes hit over 100. She was wearing earmuffs but it was our first time using them and in the beginning they were on top of her thin beanie. After 30 minutes I fully walked her away because I was getting too anxious. Did I permanently damage her hearing? Could she be deaf now? submitted by /u/miss_wanda”
“Please forgive me if this is disorganized or stupid - I’m so sleep deprived right now and I’m having trouble finding the right words. My son is 5months + a week. He’s been sleeping badly since 4 months. I’m working on having a strict nap schedule and keeping him awake for longer, in the past 2 weeks I was able to get two 6 hour stretches that made me think we were doing something right. However the he last 2 nights were horrible and I’m feeling totally lost! The baby was waking up crying every 3”
“My 10-day-old baby spits up a little after almost every feeding, and quite often some of the milk comes out through his nose. I’ve read that this is common, but it scares me when it happens, especially because afterward he makes this congested/snuffly sound when he breathes. He gets upset when this happens, and I feel bad because I don’t know how to help him. Did this happen with your baby too? Was everything okay? When did it stop? Thank you! submitted by /u/grifinoria11 [link] ”
“My baby is 7 weeks old. Since she was just over a week old I noticed that she slept poorly on her back and that she'd frequently arch her back, wriggle around and wake up. I thought ok that's sort of normal newborn behaviour, she doesn't like being on her back and wants me close. She contact napped perfectly regardless of her position in my arms. During the night she'd sleep poorly on her back, moving around and grunting loads. HV suggested silent reflux and that we slightly inci”
“My baby started the four month sleep regression at around 3 months. It lasted what I thought was three weeks and then he learned to suck his thumb really good and started waking only once or twice after that for a little over a week maybe. On the camera I could see him waking during light sleep and then sucking his thumb back to sleep. I was so happy because his regression was really hard on me. My husband works out of town half the days so I’m all alone. All of a sudden this last week or so he”
“Anyone’s LO sound congested? Worse later in the night too (3AM). I thought my 9 week old was sick but after 3 weeks of this I know he’s not. I plan to message our paediatrician & I think he’ll say to use gaviscon (which I believe constipates? I have ptsd from my eldest having rock hard poops and her screaming as a result of thickening her formula)! Anyway did anyone experience this? What helped? I panic is he breathing at 3am and also sleep between 3-6am is non existent submitted by &#”
“Please help. I am at my wits end I don’t know how to help her anymore. My 9 week old daughter just screams and screams during feedings. It gets worse at nights but it happens during the day too. And she doesn’t stop screaming. It goes on and on and on. We are currently giving Puramino (amino acid formula as she has blood in her stool), GI specialist is making us give her Pepcid twice a day, we burp her during feeds. I’ve tried switching nipple sizes and different bottle brands. But nothing seems”
“I can’t figure out what the difference is here, I just know I’m exhausted. Baby sleeps absolutely fine during the day. No congestion, no snottiness, no boogers But the second we lay her down for bedtime at night she’s congested and struggling to breathe. We don’t do anything differently for the sleeps so I’m gently at a loss. Any advice is welcome submitted by /u/Hedgehogian [link] [comments]”
“Hi, our LO is 13 days old today and is being climb fed. Since birth, when feeding she sounds like she had a blocked nose when feeding and afterwards crackly in her chest. When burping her, if I rub my hand up her back and I can almost feel the vibration of the milk in her chest and like I need to press it out. Post feeding, she will remain like that for around 30 mins. The best way I can describe it is like a pug grunting. Has anyone else experienced this? The midwife at our first post partum ap”
“My baby is 5 weeks old and he always slept for 2-4 hours sometimes less but today and yesterday he only sleep for like 30-60 mins. Hes not stopping to make these small noises that’s on the video i don’t know if it’s strange? https://imgur.com/a/qSGsTV3 submitted by /u/wLepic [link] [comments]”
“Seriously what is going on. Does anyone else have a baby like mine? I’m so confused. I did a modified Ferber method at 4 months. Basically the pickup put down method. All of her needs have been met since the day she was born. I’ve worked very hard to make sure of that. We stopped bfing around the same time I did sleep training (idk if that matters). My baby interacts pretty normally through the day as far as I can tell. So why is she not crying for me at night when she needs something?! Her room”

“My baby has always been a good sleeper. Recently we’ve started a sleep regression, which has resulted in three night wakings but he is easy to settle. Tonight he has been screaming on and off to the point it sounds like his throat is sore and nothing will make him happy or sleepy (despite looking very tired). From 12am to 5am. He seems to calm when we go out into the living room and cuddle on the couch, but he won’t sleep. We have no sleep associations and he is down to one nap since 12 months.”

“baby is very congested and keeps waking. do you all give your baby Tylenol to help them sleep? is that frowned upon? only way we are getting her to be comfortable is holding her upright… but we both work tomorrow edit: I feel like I need to let you all know that we have been using saline spray and sucking out mucus + humidifier going submitted by /u/PuzzledGift2620 [link] [comments]”
“For those of you who have babies with reflux or silent reflux, did they also have congestion? If so, when did it go away? And did it go away own its own? My daughter sounds ok when upright but as soon as she’s on her back she sounds so congested and rumbly and it’s especially bad from like 4-7 am. She doesn’t cry much throughout the day but definitely seems uncomfortable when the milk comes up and she swallows it back down and this can happen 2 hours after a feed. We are already on a hypoallerge”
“Hiya, new here and new mom as well (ftm to a five week old). In the past couple of weeks we’ve started suspecting that our LO has some kind of reflux going on. He started waking up after every sleep cycle (45-50 mins - before he would sleep two, and sometimes a whoopin three cycles) making lots of gurgle and ”wet” sounds, unless he contact sleeps on one of us, where we’re more upright. He also started waking up in the pram, being extremely unhappy, which then lasts into the evening (witching hou”
“Hi all, I moved to a new apt today after a week of living in hotels with my baby. I’m sure there’s lot of dust etc with the move. Yesterday she had a brief (5 second or so wheezing episode). She had two before and I took her to the vet and they said it was likely in the setting of some irritant and nothing to do not asthma. Today, I noticed that her meow was very hoarse. With the combo of the two I was concerned. But she has been eating drinking playing normally so I was not concerned. I’ve been”
“We’re going to call her pediatrician when they open Monday, but for the past week and a half, my 10 week old would pull away from the bottle and cry every now and then. It started off not happening very often so we didn’t think much of it, but starting Saturday morning it’s gotten much worse. She’s gone from eating about 24oz per day to only 18oz Saturday, and 7oz as of 2pm today. We’ve noticed that we pretty much have to get her to fall asleep and she’ll eat that way. She doesn’t cry every time”
“I just had my LO 3 weeks ago. Suddenly 3 days ago, he refused to sleep in his bassinet and wants to be held all the time. We tried burping him (and he usually doesn’t burp), holding him upright for 20m after eating before putting him in the bassinet, but it didn’t work. He still grunts and sometimes makes faces of someone who try to burp/vomit but he could not. His breath smells sour. He still eats okay (with both bottles and at breast), but he just could not sleep in his bassinet. He sometimes”
“My wife and I are concerned. Our 4 month old seems to be pretty up to date with her milestones. She’s been “finding her voice”. But twice this week she has been high pitch moan/screeching awake in her crib. To me, it seems like she wakes up, and then is super board and goes in to screeching. Is this normal? It almost seems like a type of stimming. Not a “food cry” or a “gas cry”. Not a cry at all, just a loud rhythmic noise. It does not stop on its own. If we wait 3-4 minutes she will continue t”
“Does anyone’s baby whine and cry about literally everything? I feel like I can’t win no matter what I do. She was colicky with CMPA/reflux which we finally got under control and had what felt like one good month. Since around 4 months I feel like she whines and screams constantly. We’ve started solids and she whines and cries when she’s in the high chair. I’ve tried to let her eat the food herself - she cries. I try to help her eat - she cries if I take too long to get her the bite. She cries if”

“My 5 month old has sounded “congested” or snorty at times. It happens a lot when she’s eating or sleeping. She has some mild reflux but nothing serious. No visible boogers. It sounds more like it’s deep in her throat. This has been going on since she was born. Sometimes it gets a little better then comes back. Has anyone experience this before?
