“My cat has been itching and i noticed that she has fleas. She doesn’t go outside and she hasn’t been outside at all. My only guess is that it came from another unit in the building. Should I contact the rental company for maintenance or…”

“The past few days I've been having bug bites on my ankles and legs. They've been really itchy and I just assumed they were mosquitos. I also thought maybe i'm brushing against something that is irritating me or that it's in my head. The reason being that my partner who lives with me in my 1 bedroom apartment (not that big, around 600-700 sqft i think) has 0 bites. Something I thought was strange was that they were only on my ankle and leg, nowhere on my upper body. Today, I found”

There are two animals in my house (1 dog and 1 cat) and we have flea prevention medication for both. Edit : everyone who currently lives with us is aware of the infestation, I’m also a minor myself. Update : first and most importantly the animals in the home have updated flea treatment. They will be okay and treated. Our plan currently : my fri”

“Help 😭 moving into a new house and previous owners neglected the hell out of it, including letting it get overrun with fleas. Literally dozens, if not more covering feet and legs after less than 5 minutes in the house. We’ve pulled out all the carpet and there’s no other furniture or fabric or anything in the house. Most of the house is older hardwood which means lots of crevices. I’ve “fogged” it twice with different flea treatments and somehow they seem worse. Do we need to have pest control”

“The new house I just moved into (in northern ohio) has a flea infestation. I have no pets or carpet, i've been vacuuming every other day if not daily, I've put up flea traps, i've had professionals come over, i've been living with my mom hoping to starve them out but its been a month now and every single time i go over there i have to pick them off of me. I am becoming deeply depressed living at home with my mom waiting for these fleas to go away and am starting to feel hopeless.”

“The pictures of the suspected larvae are screenshots of videos I took - I'm not sure how to upload videos here. Help with identification would be much appreciated. And also advice on steps to take when I get home. My own home is pet-free, but of course I want to eradicate as much as possible. submitted by /u/Agile-Bandicoot1678 [link] [comments]”

“Hi, all. Recently moved into a new apartment to discover a dormant flea infestation that is now terrorizing the lives of my roommates and I. Our landlord sent an exterminator a few days ago, but my roommates are still being bit and we are still finding fleas despite spreading diatomaceous earth around entryways, vacuuming daily, steaming furniture, drying everything on high heat, and setting soap traps. It’s only been two or so days since the exterminator came, so is it just going to take longer”

“I live in a two bedroom two bath apartment. I have four cats. They’re all indoor. I’ve gone for years avoiding fleas and somehow all four of them are now infested and so is my house and I’m getting literally attacked by these things. I really really need some good recommendations on products that actually work I don’t have the money to take all four of them to the vet to get treated. I plan on trying to give them all baths Monday morning comb as many of the fleas off of them as I can give them c”

“I have a terrible bug phobia. I live in constant fear of getting some sort of infestation. I’ve only just gotten rid of the ants that would come through my base boards. I also have a cat. Someone close to me’s house is infested with fleas and they say it’s getting worse. How concerned should I be with having them over? I’ve already told them if they did want to come they have to thoroughly shower and have to wear absolutely clean clothes but that was before it was bad. But I don’t know if I shou”

“Currently dealing with fleas, I currently have 3 indoor cats but a lot of strays on and around our home. Found a flea just under 2 weeks ago and jumped into action the best I could. Gave my cats capstar (2 days in a row followed by application of topical Cheristin) as well as flea baths (prior to application of topical treatment). I also began vacuuming daily and washing all bedding, cat beds and toys, my daughter’s stuffed animals, etc. I called an exterminator to treat the house as well. He ca”

There is correlation to them for they don’t share walls or are even in the same area. But we have to preform move out inspection and I come out with tiny little bugs on me and I feel absolutely disgusting and itchy idk what to do I’m the only person at my property that really does the inspection and this is driving me crazy. It’s not good for my mental health. This property alrea”

“Some family friends came to visit recently and told us they had a temporary flea problem a couple days prior but had effectively delt with it before coming. But I've been feeling like I have bugs crawling all over me in my sleep, and occasionally I would see these little bugs crawl across my phone while I was scrolling at night, but I just chalked it up to sand flies (I live in the bush and we get a LOT of those). But this evening I was sitting in bed and these bugs kept crawling across my p”

“Hi, we have a rental and the tenant have recently been evicted for not looking after the property. since he left we found out he had a cat and have had a flea infestation and 3 treatments carried out. We had the cleaners go put on Monday (about a 2 weeks since anyone has been in) and they reported these bugs. We can’t figure out if they are cockroaches or not. Can anyone help to confirm this so we can get the right treatment carried out. 2 professional pest control companies have told me differe”

“We've been treating a minor to moderate flea infestation in our home. No pets, but we think we got them from our yard/garden. Behind our house is a undeveloped field with wildlife. We've used Wondercide spray indoors, consistent vacuuming and washing/drying bedding with high heat. It's been a week and a half. We have had no bites for 3 days. We have found no adult fleas in our flea traps for at least 5 days. Where do you think we are with our treatment process? Do we need to continue”

“Any advice is helpful. I came home from a vacation 3 weeks ago to find my bedroom infested with fleas. I have a cat but immediately took him to the vet for professional treatment, and he is now staying somewhere else until I have completely gotten rid of the flea problem. I also have not been sleeping in my bedroom because I am too uncomfortable to do so while I still have live fleas but I am worried because I am getting close to the one month mark and am still seeing live fleas. So far I have b”

“Have been battling a flea infestation for almost three weeks now (with no pets, btw), and now it looks like a carpet beetle infestation has just started a few days ago. Pest control sprayed a few things a little over a week ago, so the fleas have decreased and most of the carpet beetles have been found dead. After being at my wits end about the fleas, now knowing that I have carpet beetles is driving me nuts. Any tips on how anyone has handled one/both of these? Also looking for laundry hamper r”

“Multiple questions here. We are dealing with a bad flea infestation in our very old rental home with practically no insulation. There’s stray cats that hang around, a lot of them lay on our porch too, and there was a family of opossums under the house a couple months ago. The house is not vapor sealed and the only barrier between the crawlspace and the inside of the house is the old, warped wood floor. Aside from sealing the crawlspace so mammals can’t get under there, using beneficial nematodes”

“I just rented a home and I’ve noticed that I’ve have flea bites all over my ankles. I’ve called pest control and they’ve been coming monthly, but is there anything else I could do to speed up the flea treatment process? I vacuum every day and I heard about diatomaceous earth food grade products. what are some recommendations for diatomaceous earth food grade? Anything would help! Also I do not have any pets. submitted by”
