“She's extremely reactive when I tried to flush her ear. Finally gave up. Tried to put the medicated drops in, as this is how I've treated it before but she's lip curling every time the small bottle comes close to her ear. She will tolerate me wiping them with cotton pads but not…”

“My dog, bull terrier always seems to have some type of problem and it’s his singular ear this time. He always has waxy ears but this time extra. Is it yeast infection possible? I cleaned em mostly. This picture I was halfway done. He let me get quite a bit but got tired of me…”

“Took my labradoodle to the vet a week ago for a smelly and red ear infection. Was prescribed animax. The red and smell is gone but she’s still shaking her head. The vet did look down inside and said the infection hadn’t made it down…”
“Took my Cavalier to dermatologist for PSOM evaluation and found out she had yeast ear infection. She was prescribed miconozole (2x/day)and synotic (1x/day) drops and epiotic ear cleaner twice/week for 3.5 weeks until recheck to get a good look at eardrums. I don’t have enough money to go back to specialist that soon. I’ll continue PSOM diagnostics, which will probably include MRI, at some point. I can still follow the ear infection treatment plan of ear drops and cleaning. How long should I keep”
“She's extremely reactive when I tried to flush her ear. Finally gave up. Tried to put the medicated drops in, as this is how I've treated it before but she's lip curling every time the small bottle comes close to her ear. She will tolerate me wiping them with cotton pads but not if they're wet or medicated. The issue with being touched started around March after she was spayed, and then she sliced her paw pad open, then (a separate) ear infection followed. I was able to treat all”
“4.5 year old French bulldog. I gave him a bath on 9/27 using the duoxo calm shampoo. Days after the bath I saw him itching the top of his head, neck, and chest a lot more than usual. He started itching his ears and shaking his head which in the past has meant an infection. I took him to the vet on 9/30 and the cytology came back negative for an ear infection. Additionally the vet said his coat looked healthy and smooth. Today on 10/3 I noticed him shaking his head and trying to itch his ears a l”

“My cat was treated for ear mites but he seems to still be itchy in his ear after a few weeks. Will a lactice acid, ketoconazole, salicylic acid ear therapy drop help? submitted by /u/Careful-Button-4319 [link] [comments]”

My newly rehomed dog started shaking his head after he'd been here a week or so. I was very gen”

“My 4.5 year old French bulldog had an ear infection (cocci) and finished mometamax on 7/26. On 8/6 he was rechecked and the cytology came back negative. On 8/12 I noticed him itching and shaking his head a little but so I brought him to the vet on 8/13 where they found a scant amount of rare cocci but otherwise clean ears. The vet said to continue mometamax for 5 days. But yesterday night and this morning his head shaking and itching has increased. Normally the medicine has made him feel better”
“I brought my dog in for an ear infection. Vet put some ointment stuff in her ear but then told me to use alcohol to clean her ear instead of water. I don't use either of those because I use an ear cleaning solution specifically for dogs. I don't know much about medicine, but that seems absurd. Is she right? submitted by /u/AddressDangerous8812 [link] [comments]”
“My 12 yo chocolate lab had some dark brown “gunk” in his years and was shaking his head quite a bit. It is not unusual for him to have waxy ears, but the head shaking was unusual. I cleaned them (thurs. night) and got him to see the vet the next day (Friday afternoon). The head shaking had stopped by the time of our appointment but I took him in anyways. The ear wax was negative for yeast or bacteria, but my vet saw some irritation in one of his ear canals so opted to give him 1 ml of OtiPac-KT”
“A few days ago I noticed my dog’s ear hair had tangled into his ear wax and formed a wax hairball in each ear. The next day was his grooming appointment so they said they would pull it out but it looked like an infection on one side. So I took him to the vet a few days later, and they said his samples are clear of yeast and bacteria, and his ears are very clean and without inflammation. They said it’s probably allergies and gave him a cytopoint shot. My question is: Is it possible that the swabs”
“Our community dog has intermittent episodes of frequent, forceful head shaking, as if trying to get something out of the ear. During these episodes, she repeatedly scratches the affected ear with her back paw in a frantic and aggressive manner. The symptoms come and go, but when they occur, they are quite intense and seem to cause significant discomfort. I have been advised to use Pomisol ear drops along with the Virbac Epiotic Ear Cleanser for a community dog with an ear problem. However, I don”
