“How do I keep two things in frame, for example, my window and the clouds in blue sky but the catch is, both should be perfectly exposed. How would you do it for a video. My ND filter didn't work for this ☹️”
“I have a LUMIX S5 II with a Sigma 150-600mm F5-6.3 DG DN OS, which i want to take pictures / a timelapse of the eclypse. The problem is that it wasn’t possible for me to get a definitely safe rated solar filter. (Like ND5.0 IR/UV-cut) but i have an ND 100.000 (16.6 stops) filter…”
“Like many idiots I forgot to buy glasses for tonight’s eclipse and was planning on taking some photos, but saw that telephoto lenses can damage the sensor. I have a Lumix G100 and a 70-200mm lens which has taken pretty decent moon photos. How likely is it that I’ll damage my…”

I have a Lumix G100 and a 70-200mm lens which has taken pretty decent moon photos. How likely is it that I’ll damage my camera taking a couple of shots? I’m not planning on watching through the lens, just snapping a couple pics. submitted by /u/SmileEconomy5431 [link] [comments]”
“Hi all, I will be in Mallorca for the solar eclipse on Wednesday. Now, I always assumed I could just use my ND filter set and stack all of them (8x64x1000) on my Canon RF 100-400mm. Just today I did some more research in preparation for the evening and read that I should not use regular ND filters as it could potentially destroy my sensor. Given that my flight to Mallorca goes tomorrow morning, I don't have time to order or shop at home anymore. And I assume everything will be sold out on th”
I want to shoot the sun eclpise coming up. But obviosly i need an ND Filter for that. But to be honest i have absolutley no plan which strength or what is…

(Like ND5.0 IR/UV-cut) but i have an ND 100.000 (16.6 stops) filter and an ND 1.000.000 (20 stops), which was all that i could get. Neither of them have the rating of ND5.0 or IR/UV-Cut, which is concerning, is it possible however to determine if one of them, both or a combination of the”
“There will be a total eclipse in spain in a few days. I'm well aware of the filter needs for sun photography during an eclipse. I bought one for my 600mm that will be pointing directly to it during all the phases. But I was considering bringing my second camera with a wide angle (20-30mm maybe) and finding a place that would capture the eclipse and the people i'll be around with. So it will not be directly focused on the sun but the sun will be part of the composition. The goal is to get”
“Ill be in a great area for the 96% partial lunar eclipse this month but im debating whether or not to shoot it with a foreground or not. I shot a lunar eclipse before with a telephoto lens with just the moon in the shot and got the whole sequence. I now have a 100-400mm lens which is bigger than that other time so it could be more detailed this time around. Im in New England and trying to find a spot where the moon will be behind or near a subject id like is moee challenging than I thought itd b”
“So, this feature (differentiated from the in-camera Focus Stacking) has been around for a while now, but it just bubbled up to my conscious attention in the last week, through other discussions. What I am curious about is why the feature isn't more widely discussed in any of the subs, including the macro discussions? Giving us the ability to generate stacks of images, with crazy DoF, without needing a tripod and/or focus rail, feels like quite a game changer in my limited trials so far. At l”
“Hello, Next month there will be a Solar Eclipse and I consider to drive 5-6h to See it. How do you take pictures? Do you use a specific filter or just a strong ND filter, e.g. ND1000. Any tips? submitted by /u/alex-gee [link] [comments]”
