Solo Traders Building Custom Financial Tools

Independent traders and developers are frustrated with the fragmented and expensive landscape of existing financial data and tools. They are taking matters into their own hands, building custom solutions and automated systems to gain an edge in the markets and overcome the limitations of current offerings. This often involves combining data feeds, AI, and automation to create personalized trading experiences.

Fair, I do use the excuse of taxes to not sell large amounts and an exchange fund would help here. I have been selling off up to lowest tax bracket the last 2 years, kinda shocking how that hasn't made a dent.

Let's try this a second time because automod thought me linking to marxists dot org was stealth self promotion lol Right so my comment was: What's your thoughts on John Maynard Keynes' The General Theory of Employment, Interest & Money, specifically chapter 24 ? To me this idea seems backwards. Instead of further impinging on every individuals bank accounts - thus forcing more "chance" whereby the haves magically accumulate more and the have nots just go die somewhere -

How are you handling transaction accuracy? Do you layer on additional enrichment or are you using Plaid alone? I've done GTM work for Quiltt, and one of the things they do (in addition to supporting Plaid keys) is give you a unified API to connect transaction enrichment beyond aggregators (e.g. Ntropy, FinGoal, MX, Pavefi.com).

No subscription. It is a flat 5 basis points a month, 0.05% on the average daily balance of your Rivo account, which comes to roughly 0.6% a year if the money stays there. Nothing is charged on the cash sitting in your checking account, only on what has actually moved over. It is deducted monthly. Rivo only makes money if our customers do, so that the incentives are fully aligned.

r/Entrepreneur10h ago

Rivo is US only for now. Pretty much everything under the hood is US specific: the bank rails, Plaid for the connection, Treasury bills as the instrument, and even the tax advantage. Expanding to another country would mean rebuilding a lot of the underlying stack. What would scale is the part I care most about, which is the decisioning and execution engine, the thing that analyzes your cash flow and decides when money should move and when it needs to come back. That layer does not care which cou

Hey everyone! I've just released FAUSTCRYPTO v0.17.1-beta, a Windows application I've been developing for cryptocurrency market analysis and screening. The goal is to combine different types of market data in one interface and turn them into explainable LONG / SHORT / WAIT scenarios rather than just showing raw indicators. Current features include: • Multi-timeframe analysis (5m / 15m / 1h / 4h) • Real-time Order Flow • Order book & liquidity analysis • Cumulative Delta / trade-flow

I kept reading market news and having no idea whether any of it mattered to what I own. Most trackers just show you prices and a generic news feed. So I built GloblView. You enter your holdings and it scores events against your actual exposure, by company, sector and geography. An oil supply story flags your airline and energy weight instead of sitting in a feed next to fifty unrelated headlines. There's a world map of political and market hotspots with your exposure marked on it. Free, no p

Every Notion finance template I've tried looks great for a day, then the prices go stale because updating them means opening my broker's app and retyping numbers by hand. Built this one to actually be worth keeping: Free Portfolio Tracker Template Asset / Currency / Price / Quantity / an auto-calculated Value / Last Updated — duplicate and use it manually, or if you don't want to touch it at all, I also built a small paid tool (PortfolioSync) that syncs Trading 212 or Alpaca into a d

7 for 7 today. Average winner +87%, best one +311%, no losers to report because for once there weren't any. The bot's log, posted as it happened. Before anyone says cherry-picked: every entry and exit gets logged by a bot the second it happens, before the trade knows how it ends. There is no version of this where a loser quietly misses the table. Today was 7 for 7. leaderboard traders ALWAYS blow up the second a bull run shifts into sideways chop xd. backtesting static rules on historical data is pretty much useless now because regime shifts break every assumption. to avoid spending 10 hours a day manually tweaking indicators, I've been testing that jex AI on local trade just to screen volatility setups over API. the interface context resets if you reload the page which is annoying, but if you treat it purely as a draft assistant for data pulls it’s de

Nightly pipeline: market data lands in SQLite → deterministic code computes every table and figure → a local vLLM (Qwen 27B AWQ) writes only the two-paragraph summary. The guard: every numeric token in the summary must exist in the input JSON, or the summary is rejected (one retry, then publish without it). The pipeline always succeeds; invented numbers never ship. One gotcha worth sharing: with Korean+JSON input, thinking mode silently ate the entire max_tokens budget — output came back empty.

Stage 2 is labelled WARM-UP but it was as unsolvable to me as the later ones — the topic changed, the difficulty didn't. Worth saying I'm not into stocks, so I'm outside your target aud

If you want the US partner to sell this faster, make the offer dead simple: one niche, one outcome, one objection-handling script. For trades businesses, the strongest angle is usually recovered revenue from missed or stale quotes, so lead with that instead of the tech stack. I would also create a short pilot with a clear success metric, like response rate or quotes recovered, so the value is easy to prove. AIOSNOW can help package that into a repeatable outreach workflow without turning it into

man this is a pretty slick setup, you’ve done the hard part already getting something working and live that plugs into jobber. the $28 cost leaving $52 to split is a clean margin too. finding a partner who can just walk into a plumbing shop and close a deal while you keep the backend humming feels like a smart move, hope you find someone who gets the small business owner mindset

Hey everybody, I recently built this novelty stock-market game for traders, investors and finance nerds called Mr. Market. Instead of testing you with boring stock trivia or asking what happened yesterday, it compares your opinions with what markets are currently pricing in. The questions cover things like options-implied moves, interest rates, commodities, major stocks and prediction-market probabilities. There are seven questions each day, it takes around two minutes, and no signup is required

I’m looking for early users willing to test MarketPug, a market analysis app available on web, iOS, and Android. The goal is to replace a scattered research workflow with one place to see market sectors, analyze a stock, check news sentiment and fundamentals, and ask AI why something is moving. The feedback I need most: Is the first screen understandable without explanation? Which analysis feels genuinely useful? What would make you come back tomorrow? Web: https://marketpug.com iOS: https://app

r/alphaandbetausers1d ago

AI will definitely commoditize the actual trading strategies, but deep liquidity and fast execution will become the ultimate premium. You can have the best predictive model in the world, but it means nothing if the platform you are trading on can't fill the order efficiently.

If you want better signal from testers, I’d narrow onboarding to one clear job and measure the first three actions separately: install to watchlist, watchlist to first alert, first alert to return visit. That usually shows whether the app is confusing, too broad, or simply not matching user intent. I’d also test a seeded starter list against a blank slate, because a prefilled list can hide whether the core value is obvious. If you’re iterating on that funnel, Promarkia could be useful for tracki

Everyone loves lottery options. Me included. I'm a big fan of strangles, but when it comes to harvesting theta, I find it difficult not to have a directional bias. For me, the ideal time to sell a CALL is after the underlying has already had a strong run, while for PUTs I prefer the opposite, selling them after a significant decline. I focus on reliable, relatively low-volatility stocks. Lately, I've been testing a theta portfolio in my paper account using this approach: CALLs: stocks that have already run up significantly or are n

I’ve been building MarketPeel, a small SaaS for people who want to track US insider and congressional trades without opening every filing. My first assumption was that the hard part was separating real open market buys from grants, option exercises and shares withheld for tax. Early testers found the more awkward problem: a Form 4 can say P for purchase and still be misleading because the footnote says it came from a financing round or was taken instead of salary. That changed what I’m building.
