YouTube Feeds Viewers Bizarre Recommendations

Viewers are frustrated with YouTube's increasingly irrelevant and unwanted content recommendations. The algorithm no longer seems to understand user preferences, serving up bizarre, low-quality, or repetitive videos despite active attempts to correct it. This leads to wasted time, frustration, and a feeling of being manipulated by the platform.

all mine suggests is something i have already watched... and that's it now. for instance if it was a song.. you would think it would at least suggest another song from the same artist...or even another song on the album.. Nope ...just that one song…

I miss old YouTube.😢

reddit.com2h ago

Just a few days ago it was as it should be with the Subscription Feed being its own seperate button in the slight right bottom of the screen again. Why must they continue to do these unnecessary changes to the interface constantly when it was just fine enough as it has been?! submitted by /u/Pessimistic_Gemini [link] [comments]

Interesting. And it doesn’t even say “suggested for you”.

Not sure if it's just a "me" problem, but anytime I'm listening to music, there's always one or two songs with AI generated looking ass thumbnails with very low views that are pumped out in a span of an hour. Just want to know if the same thing happened to you. submitted by /u/Wild_Recipe5794 [link] [comments]

So I am trying to help my friend but stuck. He created a channel and put up his first short. When you go to the home page it has 3 tabs on his page, home, shorts, posts. We watched every video for advice and changed every setting and he can’t get his shorts to show up on the home tab. They only show under shorts. My channel they show up on home page no problem. Any advice submitted by /u/jimjustgames [link] [comments]

I found this weird little corner of YouTube where a bunch of different accounts make really similar “stomach growling” videos with cartoon characters. A lot of them are super basic, sometimes literally just one image or a very short clip with some text added on top. Some of the themes also overlap with stuff that can be pretty fetish-y, like exaggerated bellies, stomach noises, bodily functions, and embarrassment. What makes me think some of these might actually be kids is that I clicked through

So recently on YouTube, I've been seeing these 1 - 48 hour videos of the channel SML (SuperMarioLogan) and it's just videos of the channel. I've been seeing the same with family guy too, just 48 hours of family guy episodes though. But during around the middle of these videos, something creepy happens. The video glitches, it freezes, anything could happen. (this is more common with sml tho) submitted by /u/Bitter-Maximum-6997 [link] [comments]

Idk if this has happened to anyone else but I feel Like I’m going crazy. This has been happening every few months for the past year or so. Idk if there’s old channels that got hacked or taken over or what, but there will be channels with content I do not and have never had any interest in that are suddenly on my subscriptions page! They have never popped up before and do not appear in my YouTube history at all. None of their videos have been watched. I am logged out of all devices except for my

What the title says. I just counted that I am subscribed to 100 channels (I wonder if that's the limit?). Anyway, YouTube doesn't recommend any content from those channels. All I get is garbage recommendations in my feed. And I get the same garbage recommendations over and over and over. By that I mean some garbage recommendations appear at the top of my feed and then I'll scroll down and the same garbage recommendations appear again. I'll refresh and get the same recommendations

wtf is this. my rec page is just one huge vid at a time. i know a while back there was a thing where people couldn’t get a list view for their subscriptions, but i’m talking about the recommended page. this is so stupid, i just closed the app right away, not using this shit like that. submitted by /u/maevenimhurchu [link] [comments]

So something that has been happening on and off for the last 6 months or so is that sometimes I will open my YouTube and realize there is up to dozens of random YouTube videos that I never watched in my history. Whenever I would check my google account it would never show any devices that I did not recognize and I would always force log out of every device when I changed my password anyways. In this time span I have changed my google password maybe 3 or 4 times and it has not stopped whatever is

I’m not sure if this is just a me problem, but has anyone else noticed that you have been subscribed to really random big corporations? I’ve noticed lately that I keep finding that I’ve subscribed to people I’ve never heard, or ever seen. Some like power corporations, or big tech, or random money grab influencers that look like they don’t even exist. I went through my subscriptions list and there was at least 5 I had to get rid of and I’m scared maybe my account is being used to farm subscriptio

Is it just me or that thing seems extremely annoying and disrespectful? It seems there is a flood of "influencers" spamming about how amazing it is, while it has 0 improvements over a normal modern distro (like fedora kde, I use it and it just works and has everything I might need). It is also extremely disrespectful watching how those aforementioned influencers claims that Omarchy "fixed Linux", "just works" and has amazing features like plugins (like kde widget or gnome extensions) and basic fea

It basically all in the title - I’m finding my self unable to find new creators like I used to and frustrated with sifting through AI slop. It legitimately makes me not use the app as much as I did. How has this impacted others viewing and what are YouTube going to be doing to save the future of the platform and real content creators that make it amazing. submitted by /u/Underhive_Art [link] [comments]

I want a channel's playlist - specifically the Sky Sports channel's Premier League highlights playlist - added to my home feed. It comes up often in my suggestions, which is good, because I can go onto the channel from there or my favourites. But this is a few clicks too many for me - I want it directly in my feed as one of the categories where it has 'recommended', trending', etc. The only suggestions I've found online are ways to do this on the Web page, or a round abou

This is great and hope it'll be compatible with more and more browsers. This should be done by youtube themselves. It's so simple for them to label AI generated content so people can…

news.ycombinator.com2d ago

I agree. I pay for premium and this keeps getting worse and worse. There's more garbage on my screen and they are applying an algorithm to my subscriptions where I feel like I'm seeing the same 20 to 25% in my feed and the rest they're basically ignoring.

r/youtube2d ago

youtube recommends the same dozen videos, so I tried signing out to see what they recommend, and they turned off the homepage recommendations sooooooo I guess I'm canceling premium bc why the fuq would I pay for this broken ass algorithm. I dont understand.... wouldnt they want to entice people to stay on the website with a slew of new options to click on. Or maybe I'm the crazy one and everyone else has their 12 favorite videos that they play on repeat over and over for forever

I prefer to not have some automated shorts playlist and prefer to not have to use 3 steps to get my shorts into the playlists I actually want them in. I watch a lot of shorts and with very different themes, I don't need a unified playlist for them in which it will fill up and give me the unwanted "maximum playist size" and I don't want them mixed up either. It now it also takes several steps for me to save a short to the playlist I want to because first I have to hit the bookma
