Viewers are frustrated with YouTube's increasingly irrelevant and unwanted content recommendations. The algorithm no longer seems to understand user preferences, serving up bizarre, low-quality, or repetitive videos despite active attempts to correct it. This leads to wasted time, frustration, and a feeling of being manipulated by the platform.

“I have a quick loophole to dislike YouTube Shorts on desktop (and not just "Don't recommend this channel"): 1) Go to the URL. It should say "youtube.com/shorts/..." . 2) Select "shorts/" . ONLY "shorts/" and no other characters. 3) Replace "shorts/" with "watch?v=" and hit enter. Doing so brings you to the default YouTube video player, which still has a working dislike button.
