“I'm not very familiar with cars. I rented a car from enterprise in Florida for labor day weekend. There was no damage at the time of my return, when i did the walk around with the employee at return, but 2 weeks later, they sent me an email stating that I damaged the vehicle…”

“If you rented from a reputable rental car company I suggest you return the car and go about your day. Nobody is going to care. I returned my last rental car and pointed out a scratch probably 8" long that was also a different color than the paint and the guy said not to worry…”
Several users are debating whether to disclose minor damage (hitting a curb) to a rental car company, concerned about potential fees and the agency's response. Some suggest avoiding disclosure, while others advise reporting it and letting the company handle claims or repairs.

There was no damage at the time of my return, when i did the walk around with the employee at return, but 2 weeks later, they sent me an email stating that I damaged the vehicle during my rental period. They didn't tell me where but they eventually sent me some pics that their repair shop took. Idk when these pics were taken and they said they can't disclose that information when I asked”
“Hi everyone, long story short, I was pulling up to the garage door in my apartment's parking garage to leave, and there's a brick wall at an awkward corner that I hit. I've cleared it many times before, but I guess I got unlucky today. Does anyone know what kind of process this will have to go through to get fixed? I hit the metal part of the car itself, and I know it's gonna cost a lot to fix, but I want to know how extensive the work is actually going to be. I don't want an”
“I rented a Mercedes GLS450 from Avis at Houston IAH for only a few hours on August 31. I’m an Avis President’s Club member and rent with them regularly. I had no accident and do not recall causing any damage. Avis is now demanding $1,261.83 . What concerns me is their own documentation: Avis says pickup was 8:45 AM , but I was still on AA1407 from DFW to IAH at that time. I returned the car the same day around 12:43 PM after only 50 miles . Their inspection says “light scratch” on the right rear”

“We sustained some rim damage/deep scratches on our rental car rim in Ireland. We purchased $0 deductible insurance via booking.com, and it supposedly covers tires/wheel/rim. I am curious if we should own up to it upfront when we return the car, or see if it’s noted by them during the check or after the car is returned? I just want to ensure we go the easiest route without being charged upfront and reimbursed later. Any and all tips welcome! submitted by /u/Live_Appearance_3781 [link]”
“Hit one of these with the concrete bottoms? Not a SUV, so that damage line is pretty low. https://preview.redd.it/sf1dw55qjgoh1.jpeg?width=2560&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=08490cf31c2b8a499e59efd8e42a7775a7d010c0”
“Hi all -- I currently have a rental scheduled with Alamo via Costco (payment not due till day of pickup). I am doing the pre-registration stuff and see the following: Damage Waiver = 41.99/day Supplemental Liability insurance = 12.95/day. Since the Costco Citi Card car rental benefit is only a secondary coverage - I'm looking to add coverage on a primary basis. This is what I'm thinking: (1) Get the Allianz Car Rental Insurance coverage for 11/day (this will cover the CDW). (2) Get the s”
“Quarters already screwed, might as well roll it and see if it helps, otherwise bring it to a body shop to have it repaired correctly.”
“Told you bro. They literally dont care. Only time i would recommend telling them was if it was for a private rental house like someone on turo. But yeah its only $100.”
“Update: turned it in and they said nothing, and I know damn well he glanced at it too. I feel so dumb and stupid. I want my $100 back smdh”
“Get paint pen? And cover the scuffs. Tires, not sure. You can try used tire places. They might not catch it. Go to a tire shop and ask them to flip inside and outside maybe.”

“Tell them about the damage and say you need to make a claim, and let them deal with it.”
