“Didn’t see the limit until the card came. I pretty much just clicked through after the approval.”
“The rep told me any purchases made over the limit would be declined. The first one was already gonna be around 2x the starting limit.”
“So I got approved for an Amex card a little while ago and it came last week. Was looking forward to it but then saw the sad excuse for a credit limit and it was wayy too low to be of any use for what I had planned. I have some major expenses coming up in the next month and thought it would be a good idea to get another card. Called customer service to see if there was any way for a reconsideration or a temporary increase. The rep told me I’d have to wait 90 days just to apply for a CLI and there”
“I applied for OceanAIR epic rewards card and the process is not as slow as I thought however there was good amount of back and forth. First I forgot to unfreeze my credit report and then they said they couldn't validate my identity using my license. They reconsidered the decision after taking multiple other docs but finally they did not approve citing my combined existing limits are high(120k total). My credit score is in range of 770. I asked if they can approve for a lower limit as opposed”
“Just wondering does anyone have any idea? I phoned them and they said just to wait for the physical card to come and use the card number, but like I should surely be able to use Apple Pay? Weirdly, it did work one single time. But every other time it denies. Not an insufficient fund notice, but an actual denial. Any ideas? The bank themselves sounded perplexed and couldn’t offer a solution. submitted by /u/TWOPlNTSPRICK [link] [comments]”
“Thank you for the heads up! I actually have two cards so I have eight passes a year and so far that's been enough but it's good to know that I would not have to dip into that for a delay.”
“You could try calling their reconsideration line. I think it's around up to 30 days after application was made.”
“DigitalOcean may reject some prepaid or virtual cards based on the issuer or card network. The safest next step is to contact DigitalOcean support and ask which payment methods are accepted for your account, or use a standard bank-issued debit or credit card in your own name. I would avoid routing the payment through another wallet unless DigitalOcean explicitly confirms that it is supported.”
“i checked on the website and I put in my card number and the rest, and it shows my balance is the amount I put in, so I think it means they did activate it right?”
damnn that sucks it’s really a gamble with what they’ll give you
“So it’s been 2 months since my friend opened AMEX BCE and got the option to ask for CLI. But got rejected. When can he apply again for CLI? As far as i know you have to apply after 90+ days. But he got the option in 2 months. So does he have to wait for 1 month or 3 more months? submitted by /u/skipper_33 [link] [comments]”
“In April, I made a purchase at Rooms to Go with a brand new synchrony card that I was previously approved for prior to walking into the show room. It's now been 90 days to the date. The charge is still stuck in "Pending". Account credit limit decreased by the amount of my purchase. Account shows no payment due and no statements. Account shows a pending amount from 04/18. At what point do I stop checking frantically and wipe the sweat off my brow and take this as a gift from the uni”
“I tried to apply to but this and the Harris Teeter cards a few weeks ago. Both sites were still up, but there was nowhere to actually click to start the application. So there have been signs about this coming for a little bit now. I’m surprised stores still have advertisements up for these.”
“Sorry, I didn't realize this was a promo apr offer. You might have to contact again and escalate.”
“Those are the Spark cards. Most everything he said doesn’t apply to the two cards I mentioned”
They do offer PCs, albeit idk how they handle discontinued cards
“Currently looking at getting my next CC and I am interested in getting the c1 savor card, but I can only get preapproved for the Savor for good credit. My credit score according to the discover scorecard is 769, and I am coming up on a year as a primary cardholder. Should I wait until I can get preapproved for the Savor for excellent credit (for the SUB) or should I just apply for it now? submitted by /u/Hazmat_Gamer [link] [comments]”
“Hey everyone, I just applied for the Delta SkyMiles Reserve card and was told I would not be eligible for the bonus offer. Thought it was weird because I have never been rejected before. For context, I do already have the other three cards, SkyMiles blue, gold, and platinum. Never had an application rejected before so I was just looking for some insight into why it happens and especially if there is any way around it. All advice is much appreciated, thank you! submitted by /u/Technic”
“Agree same here, Only received for Flex and not for the Freedom which I also have.”
“So I used my $300 Amex hotel credit in June for a future booking in August. I got reimbursed by Amex already for it. However, if I wanted to cancel that booking, do I just lose that credit now or does that refund from the booking goes back to my amex account? Has anyone have any experience with this from before? Just wondering what happens if I cancel that booking since I already got reimbursed from Amex for that credit. submitted by /u/PointstotheT [link] [comments]”
“To anyone else reading this who is also new to credit: this is why you should always keep your credit files frozen unless you intend to apply for a new account. There is downside and significant upside to keeping them frozen. Just do it.”
“I used my credit on June 30 for stubhub and opentable and the charge showed on june 30 as pending and didnt end up getting "processed" till july 1 so I dont think i got the credit.... it shows that i used my credit in full on chase... Is there a way to dispute this, like screenshot with date of june 30 use?”
“I got the same thing , weird . Before it said “ Unable to Verify Identity.” Weird..”
“I put my Prime Visa card info in the My Bonus website, but the results look like this: For your account ending in: [numbers] Thank you, [name] your offer is activated. Take advantage of other special offers Millions of people are earning cash back on great brands with Chase Offers. To see your offers now, log in to your Chase account. Explore your offers > Does this mean I didn't get anything? It's not the usual "the offer is not available for the card account" message. When”
“I applied for the AAA Cashback Visa without realizing you had to be a AAA member for the version issued by US Bank (unlike Comenity). The application let me submit without but I just received a letter asking for my membership number before they can continue processing. Has anyone joined AAA to get the card and then not renew after the first year? Were you able to keep the same card/rewards, or did they downgrade or close the account? I do not otherwise need AAA, so I probably will not move forwa”
“I don’t go to Kohl’s that often and I was a pushover at the checkout last week and agreed to a Kohl’s card, not understanding it was an actual credit card until halfway through and was again, a pushover, and just finished signing up for it. My credit is very good, high 700’s, and I’m very responsible with my cards. I mostly use them for monthly bills and subscriptions and big purchases I plan on paying off very quickly to boost my credit. I know reading the fine print is important when it comes”
“Same exact thing happened to me with this credit card I was approved I never got it and sent it somewhere else I called they were going to overnight it never got it never got it again and now they're saying it was brought on my part and they're going to report it to my credit”
“I have been having the same issue! This is the fourth time I’ve reached out, and they always say it will be resolved within 1 to 2 weeks. Has anyone received a resolution?”
“Really? I know the charge will go through if it’s a pending charge but you lock it afterwards. I know some companies try to do that, that’s why I usually lock it before I put the details in”
“not really an approval they just moved an existing credit line to another card. an approval would be a new credit line.”
“They acknowledge the spend, just flaking on honoring the original offer in my AMEX app”
“Just wanted to share datapoint for CSR approval with 5/24 after recon. Never held CSR before and wanted to take advantage of 150k sub, already at 5/24 ( about 2-3 months away from being under ) and decided to roll the dice. Applied mid-June and got the "we need more time to review...." message. Received denial letter 10 days later citing too much available credit, number of accounts opened, etc. Called recon line and asked them to move my existing credit limits for the 3 cards I hold t”
“I just got that same offer and was approved. Did it really give you that credit limit and no fees? Or was it a bait and switch?”
“Has anyone had issues with the reserve offers acceptance time reflecting the wrong Rewards Level? I got to level 4 last period, so had 30 min to accept Reserve offers. Even since the new period started though, it’s only been giving me Level 2 (10 min) times to accept…basically reflecting what I’ve earned so far rather than the carry over it’s supposed to do through Sept 30. I tried to contact support and that was a joke. He pasted the Reserve Offers rules text into the chat, and then suggestedI”
Stupid idea but, can you pay for an expedited shipping ?
“I had the same happen with my Chase cards a few days ago, a WF debit card and citi costco card only ones showing up for me.”
“I’ve read mixed things on here so just wanted to confirm… when using the app, do they pull a hard or soft inquiry when requesting a CLI? Some recent posts state it’s a soft pull, but also at the bottom of the submission page, it says to make sure your credit reports are not locked but oesn’t mention anything about it being a hard inquiry, which I thought they’re required to disclose. Just want to confirm from anyone who has done it recently. Thanks submitted by /u/Dependent_Simple_42”
“- Apple Pay Transactions Always Gets Declined - Haven’t had a Credit Increase in 12 Months (although paid card in full prior to new statements) - Card randomly declines transactions - Cash back scheme seem like a scam It was great as it was the first card that accepted me after bankruptcy but after a few months I was able to get to the more common credit cards so it just sits there.”
“On very rare occasions account openings can take 1-2 billing cycles to properly report to credit bureau reports, but 5 months of not showing up is definitely not supposed to happen. Considering that the account shows up on Equifax and Transunion this is either an issue from WF's end specifically with Experian or an Experian side issue. Try contacting WF first and if it's not something they can fix on their end contact Experian.”
“I made an account the same day. I do think it's dumb that you can't use the card virtually in the meantime.”
“So, you cant create an online account unless you have the CC#. It takes 3 business days to process the card and set up an account in their back end just to call them to expedite the card shipping process. There is no way to use the card virtually while the card is being shipped. pretty dumb IMO. in this day an age, how can you not provide a way for people to use the card virtually? submitted by /u/thishitisgettingold [link] [comments]”
“I guess chase visa cards are gonna take up all 2 billing cycles to get them back to us. Meanwhile, BoA, Citi, C1 and USB have turned things around for me within two weeks”
“Sometimes i’m glad they denied my application even though i have a good credit history I was really looking forward to the 0% apr”
“Has anyone had this happen? I bought a Dunkin card on the app and sent to myself via text. I somehow dismissed the popup notification on my phone. I got an email saying it was sent but did not get the email saying it’s been claimed because it hasn’t been. I was charged on my card and got the Paze credit back already, so no money lost but no card! I tried contacting Dunkin via email and it said to call them. I called and recording said to contact via website. I called again and sat on hold for an”
“I just sent another email stating I am moving forward with this by seeking council. I'm mot kidding. Its not about the 95- I spend more on coffee lol- its about having my info, including social, running my credit, taking money for something that doesnt exist, and providing no customer support (it just hangs up). So you stole 95 and my identity information? Credit hit! And producing a bill that I cant access because its canceled? So why am I getting emailed I have a bill? Again- no support to”
“I tried logging in . I did. Now website is saying refunding . Ok . I am thinking “ What is going on ?””
“I've heard people say they have a 5/24 rule but cite no evidence. I got approved for my autograph at 4/24 with squire a few inquiries and 0/6 new cards. Denied for attune at 7/24 3/12 0/6. I got a wf checking and run my money through it though don't let it float too high before shoveling to hysa. I've heard people say they are reactive to what your checking balance is, again, no evidence. I feel like most things people say are just spit balling. Other than that, I think most issuers”
“how long did it take for the approval mail to come in? submitted by /u/tony8277 [link] [comments]”
“Superior number? I’m trying to activate my card now it’s saying that my application can’t be processed all of a sudden”
“I cannot get a hold of anyone, my account when I login states that they are giving me a refund but i just received the card in the mail”
