“2008 Honda CRV. 135k miles. This rattling noise only happens when idling but it’s not constant. Most of the time the noise isn’t there but sometimes it kicks on while idling. Once I start driving it stops. AI has got me freaked out that it might be something serious like the timing chain. Not sure what it is. Any ideas? Btw I have filled the power steering since. “2018 VW Golf R MK7.5 in the UK. The sound in the video has been intermittent for about 6 months. It had a service & MOT at the dealership recently and all passed. No warning lights. No issues driving. But as you can hear, it’s disconcerting. Some days it won’t make a sound the entire day. Some days it’ll be almost each turn. It happens less at higher speed and more at lower speed. The sound is an external sound - it isn’t the wheel in the interior. It’s very audible from the outside. Im cons”

“This just started about a few hours ago, it happens only when it turns off. It can sometimes be a little louder, from what I have read it’s reminiscent of brakes or air hissing. “I just changed my oil, all 4 brake pads and rotors on my 2015 toyota corolla S. It seems to be coming from the front of the car. Cant tell where it is coming from. Sunday, got patch for one of my wheels, when I went to the store there was no noise. When I went to work yesterday, no noise. Today, on the way to work, I noticed it. “Hey guys, need some help diagnosing this sound. I’ve got it chalked up to clutch or alternator… clutch has some bad smells but never any slipping, still strong there. Alternator does whine quite a bit (like most mk5 rabbits). Alternator never showed signs of failing, like stuttery wipers or lights. I got quoted a rough $2,000 to fix clutch IF flywheel is in tact. “It happens on my 2010 wrx 2.5t around 2.2-3k rpm. You can only hear it inside or underneath the car and it sounds like the bell housing area. Brand new trans fluid aswell. “Hi everyone, I’m wondering if anyone can help me. I have a 1.2L TSI automatic 2013 VW polo (jap import). The car has 110,000km and has only basically done less than 6k km since the last nct last year. I only do short distance drives (I realise this isn’t great now that I have this issue also) but my car failed on emissions. “2023 Hyundai Santa Fe. A lady stopped me in a parking lot to inform me of this thing hanging from underneath my car. She said it was loose and kind of "bouncing" when I was going over speed bumps. “This sound only occurs when I first start my car and go from park to drive, it stops once I get going, and doesn't happen in reverse. She's an AWD 2003 Toyota RAV4. Very close to 200K.
