“AOS was filed through an attorney. The I-130 and I-485 fees were taken out of my bank account, but the I-765 (Work Authorization) fee was not. Has anyone else experienced this? Was the I-765 fee eventually taken out?”

Applicants are worried about USCIS processing delays, particularly with I-485 applications arriving late. This raises fears of denials and the need to reapply, incurring additional fees and extending the immigration process.

“curious to learn from the community what their experience was post replying to RFIEs? for context: me (later registered birth certificate) and my wife(proof of bonafide marriage) got RFIEs on Oct 2 wrt our i-485 filed in April,2026, which were delivered on Oct 6th and I uploaded everything by Oct 8th morning since the responses and documentation needed for the response was quite straightforward. the case is at the San Bernadino office. I know online it says anywhere from 30-60 days (no guarantee”

“Got married last month. We sent our immigration packet. My visa was not expired. My visa expired last week and we just got the packet back today saying one of our forms was not the current version (they will not specify which and all of them appear to be current but thats besides the point: the civil surgeon envelope was returned OPEN. do I need to pay and get this whole thing done again and get a new envelope? now that I am out of status due to this, do I need to redo EVERYTHING and now say I h”

“I’m writing this to vent and to maybe get some insight. My fiance and I filed last November. Like three weeks ago we received an RFIE, we got it after like 2 days and it was an unchecked box. The box was the one ab criminal activity. It said on it even citations should be included. In my fiancés youth, he was given a citation for smoking in a place where it was no smoking and mouthing off to a cop. That was paid and all set. We went to that court and got court seal certificates for everything fr”

“Hi everyone, I have my marriage-based I-485 interview Tuesday, and while reviewing our filed I-130, I noticed something concerning on the last page (Page 12, Additional Information). There is a foreign address in Amman, Jordan, listed under Page 5, Part 4, Item 13.a. The address is completely unfamiliar to us. We never provided it, and I have never visited Jordan. It appears that the attorney who prepared our application may have accidentally entered this address. I am trying to contact the atto”

“I need insights from you. Has any of you experience the same situation: August 9- Premium process August 21- RFE (current teaching license) Sept 9 - sent the rfe packet Sept 15 - uscis received (premium clock stop) Sept 22 - currently processing the case Sept 30 - denied (same day that the attorney received a withdrawal acknowledgment letter from uscis dated sept 22) The thing is, the district and the attorney did not submit any withdrawal letter. Attorney emailed and called uscis premium center”

“I received a cancellation for a RFE, USCIS contacted my attorney stating they needed a form signed and sent over to them and they will approve my husband’s case. We did a quick turn around with the signed document, to only be told by 330pm the officer left for the day. However, USCIS told our attorney they will have the officer worked on my husband’s case first thing in the morning. I had so much hope and now it’s after 6pm. The whole experience has been so traumatic for over 2 years. What time”

“USCIS issued a second RFE for our case saying “it appears the business petitioner has changed ownership or name” but none of this has ever happened. We are all finding this very weird. We consulted with two lawyers and they just laughed saying this doesn’t make sense at all. Of course it’s easy to prove, but we’re very concerned with not knowing what triggered it. Anyone has seen this? Of course, I-140 is approved and the I-485J as well, which makes it even weirder. submitted by /u/L”

“My spouse and I are on an EB2-NIW case. On September 30, 2026, the principal applicant filed his I-485 online, and it correctly shows a received date of September 30. I filed my derivative I-485 a few hours later that same evening, around 9 PM ET. It was clearly still September 30 where we live (Eastern time). My USCIS account now shows my received date as October 1, 2026. The only explanation I can come up with is that the online system timestamps filings in UTC (or some other non-US time zone)”

“I have a unique situation and would appreciate hearing from anyone who has experienced something similar. My RFE response was due on 09/24 . We shipped the completed response package via FedEx on 09/22 , but the shipment became stuck at a FedEx hub and appears to have been delayed or possibly lost. Our attorney contacted FedEx multiple times, but there was no resolution before the deadline. As a precaution, my attorney re-sent the entire RFE response via UPS on 09/25 , along with a letter explai”

“Hello everyone. I submitted a I-130 online for my husband (we married in June) and already got a receipt notice. It wouldn’t let me file 485 and 765 online because it couldn’t find the I-130 notice so we decided to mail them. My packet was returned in the mail today with a rejection notice for incorrect payment. I had added a copy of the filed I-130 and the receipt, but I think they thought I was trying to file a new I-130 because they added a rejection notice to that one as well. So maybe they”

“Is it a good thing that my I-485 is being reviewed for the second time this month, I filed back in Nov 2024, my I-130 and I-485, but because some issues my I-485 it got accepted until Nov 28 2024 (not my I-130 that one got accepted right away) got my biometrics done Dec 17 same year, that’s where I got my first your case is processing, then I got an email in may 16 saying that they reach a decision, but it was only another your case being processed for my I-485, then in May 30 2025 I got my I-13”

“Does this look like it was denied for lack of evidence? Sponsor also met requirements. 1040 transcripts + certificate of naturalization were uploaded with RFE. i130 got approved same day denial was issued. submitted by /u/According-Tune5147 [link] [comments]”

“Hello all, I applied for I -485 AOS, married to USC and I received one RFE regarding I-864 stating to make sure my spouse earns more than 125% of federal limit ( which she does). I submitted our marriage certificate, her naturalization certificate, latest W2, we filed our 2025 tax return together so 2025 tax account transcript, 6 months of her payslip (monthly), and employment verification letter. has anyone received similar RFE? Not sure what was I missing and RFE mentions typical language of i”

“Hi all, My i-485 was initially concurrently filed with an i-130 and rejected due to payment error (family based, spouse is US Citizen). Shortly after the payment error notification was received, USCIS sent another update that my case was still being processed (on my rejected i-485). I never received the package, and did not want to re-submit to make sure there is no duplicate application. It took me 4 months and the help of a US Senator to confirm that my initial -485 was in fact dead, and that”

“I filled everything completely right and they returned the package back to me . What I am going to do is write a letter stating that the package was filled in correctly and no errors was made and send them the package again . “I am helping my wife file her I-485, I-765, and I-131 concurrently. On the I-765 portion it asks for an I-485 receipt notice, but we haven't submitted an I-485 yet because they're all being submitted concurrently. Should this page be left blank, or should we be filing the I-485 first, getting the receipt notice, and then filing the I-765 later? submitted by /u/tf3091 [link] [comments]”
