“Hi everyone! I just graduated my vet tech program yesterday (YAY!) and I’m planning to take the VTNE in December. Something I have a lot of trouble with remembering are the calculations for solutions and dilutions and would like to practice more. I’m wondering if anyone has any helpful worksheets/printouts which used to be really helpful for me in middle/high school to practice math. Or even just easy ways to remember formulas to prepare. I’m very good at medical math otherwise but for some reas”
“Hiya! I'm wondering if anyone knows what the actual rule is for logging 1 ml vials that come like 5 to a box. For example, a previous clinic I did some relief work for were getting their Midazolam as boxes of 30 1 ml vials. Since they were obviously having to use multiple vials for one dose on some patients and trying to individually log each vial, they just labeled the box. So, "bottle" 1 was logged as a starting volume of 30 mls (since the box had 30 of the 1 ml vials) and so on.”

“I’ve been looking into how Texas handles veterinary technician licensing compared with other states, and it raised some questions I’d like actual veterinary professionals to weigh in on. I put together a short anonymous survey about technician title protection, scope of practice, credentialing, patient safety, and the use of unlicensed veterinary assistants in Texas. You do NOT have to work in Texas to participate. I’d actually like responses from LVTs/RVTs/CVTs, veterinary assistants, veterinar”
“The owner apparently is a licensed veterinary technician, which poses the question: wouldn’t they understand the risks involved in awake scaling? There’s a reason it’s not the standard of care anymore - damaged teeth, choking/aspirating, putting a bandaid on diseased teeth & owners not seeking true professional medical care. They do state their services are cosmetic only and don’t replace veterinary care, but I feel like that doesn’t absolve them of the harm they’re doing. Sure, in a perfect”

“Hi everyone, just wanted to see who works HVSN here currently or in the past, and if so how do you feel about it? What do you enjoy about it and what do you not enjoy about it? I’ve been working HVHQSN for almost a year now, and I enjoy it, but I don’t think it’s for everyone. any fellow spay/neuter techs pop into the comments! submitted by /u/harpyfemme [link] [comments]”
