Management through SSH is perfectly reasonable way of working. Some might also stick that SSH connection inside a wireguard tunnel though and then you don't need an SSH port. Or even use things like Netbird or Netmaker.”

“i have my seer exposed over a cloudflare tunnel, but the tunnel forces a google account login, and the only allowed google accounts allowed are the handful i've specified. on top of that the entire domain is geoblocked and only the two countries i've specified are allowed. And after that you still need to log in to it with one of the plex accounts on the server. I feel it's about as safe as i can make it, for a non-technical person.”

I had reddit error out like a guestimated 33% of the time. The tor-proxy fixed it all and you can also use it for other apps, you dont want to have tracked

So I just use the public IP/domain name regardless of where I am. Both me and my non techy family members don't like VPN and it's clients. I see those apps running always as an overhead.”
