Traditionally, good editing is about timing cuts well and making sure that the stuff you're showing as b-roll is relevant and times out correctly with the rhythm of what's being said. “Yeah, I hit record in OBS but only use it to capture the visuals of the gameplay and webcams PLUS the game audio. Then I hit record in my audacity and my co host does the same. I end up with three different audio files which I import into my editing software. Syncing the audio and visuals perfectly is a bit of a pain but it’s worth it.”

“If you have a decent smartphone the cheapest option is using your phone as a webcam via a usb c cable and software such as Droidcam. The software is free but limits the quality; it does not cost too much to upgrade it to 1080p 60fps capture. The mic in your phone might also be good enough for starters: you can use programs like Audacity to improve the quality after the recording.”
