Eight hours of being forced to listen to the music when I would just like to read or nap. It’s so loud I can still hear it with my noise canceling headphones or loop earplugs. I understand wanting to enjoy music on the weekends but 8 hours straight is way too long. My walls are shaking. I don’t understand why people cannot be considerate of their”
“I am super frustrated because one of my neighbors has an extremely loud dodge charger that I can hear in every room of the apartment and it damn near rattles the windows. If I'm working it is distracting, I can hear it through headphones, and it wakes me if I'm sleeping. I am in Houston, Texas so everybody has an annoyingly loud car so I'm used to it but she gets home and leaves at all hours of the day and night and idles her car for over 30 minutes every time. She starts the car fro”
“Hi, I currently live in a pretty quiet place and miss being able to have parties and late nights.. Anyone know how I can find apartments that are loud all the time or comfortable with frequent commotion? I’d like to have a place where people just come and go as they please, music always blasting etc.. This seriously isn’t a shitpost lol but every time I Google something like this it returns the opposite results. I’m starting to think the answer is this isn’t a thing and I would need to buy a hou”
“i am so happy i am moving because my downstairs neighbors love to throw parties, play music super loud, and shake the entire apartment until 1am. i thought id join in this morning and dance as it sounds like the music is coming from my living room. i hate this apartment complex with my entire being, my upstairs neighbors actually worked at the complex and he had 2 toddlers running around the house, bouncing a basketball and falling on the ground, screaming and crying until 2am everyday. i compla”
“Hi everyone. I currently live in an apartment where the walls are fairly thin and soundproofing is mediocre. I understand all the noises of normal living (vacuuming, washing dishes, occasionally dropping things) but I’ve been having a hard time with my neighbor (or neighbors) playing such loud music or TV that I can hear it even with headphones on, both during the day and during quiet hours sometimes. The video attached is one I JUST took, the fact that it’s so loud it’s picking up on my phone i”
“I recently moved in to my apartment and during the day I noticed the bass of music constantly being blasted, sometimes the song isn't really that bad and tolerable but other songs will literally shake my windows. I thought it was someone in the parking garage blasting their car music so I went down to ask them to please stop blasting their music for hours on end surrounded by brick buildings everyday. However, I noticed the constant music is coming from the CrossFit center next to us. Keep i”
“I live in an apartment that is situated above my complex’s common space and also overlooks the pool. Usually this is never an issue. I can hear everything outside and beneath my apartment, but the sounds of people doing normal things or kids playing at the pool has never bothered me. However my apartment complex likes to host events, and unfortunately for me I work long shifts over the weekends, and weekends are the best time for events. It’s nearly 8pm and I’m cozy in bed watching Netflix on my”
“My apartment complex just sold to a new company, and the new apartment manager moved in next door to me. She is nice but plays loud music with reverberating bass quite a lot. My Roku TV at 30 volume won’t drown it out. This apartment complex was fairly quiet before and many residents told me they liked how quiet it was when I was touring. There is a text line to the manager, or I could try to stop in her office on a day off. She only moved in about 2 weeks ago, so she may not know the walls aren”
“Hello! This is my first time ever living in an apartment (off campus housing for university students) and I'm about a week and a half post moving in. I'm still waiting for my roommate to move in (4 person townhome, just me right now) and I've come to a difficult situation. The apartment right next to mine (shares wall) has started blasting music all day, and since it's bass-boosted even my noise cancelling headphones can't completely block it out. I'm just trying to study”
“First it started at $100 from my HOA when I complained about their music/TV being loud enough for me to hear exactly what characters were saying on TV and lyrics being yelled by GloRilla or whatever else they were listening to. With audio to prove it. Once they were hit with the $100 they got angry and started turning it up louder, but the idiots didn't know there would be additional fines for each day the nuisance wasn't handled. So I sat back and let them RACK up 9 more days of nonsens”
“There’s a couple who lives next to me that loves to blast music from 8am to 10+pm every single day. It’s usually house/hip hop beats that have heavy bass. It sounds like I live next to a club. I love music, even those genres, but not through my walls. I’ve knocked on the wall as a gesture to quiet it down multiple times only to get an angry yell back. I hear them arguing loudly occasionally, so I don’t feel safe confronting them, or that they will be sensible about it. That’s why I went to the l”
“Just a vent post as there’s nothing I can do since they usually turn it off by 9pm, but there is a family upstairs on the BACKSIDE of my unit that blasts mariachi music all damn day. It has that annoying bass thump and it vibrates my ceilings. To top it off, they allow their kids to cannonball off furniture for hours on end. There have been two nights where they were allowed to do this up to 11pm, and I finally had to bang on the ceiling/wall (that did work those two times). I have reported it t”
“Yesterday afternoon we caught our neighbors spraying our front door with something. We just moved in a few weeks ago and have had a few issues with these neighbors regarding parking spots. The parking issue has been resolved by management, however now this happens. Typically we wouldn’t think much of it, especially if it’s bug spray that they’re spraying. I am severely afraid of bugs so I am all for some extra spray when it comes to that except for the fact that we have a dog. And our dog walked”
“So one of the people in my building (25 units) has a car that has gone off 5 times within the last hour and a half. It is currently 12am where I’m at. Every time it goes off this guy lets it blare for at least 1-2 minutes before he fixes it. I don’t know what he’s doing in his apartment but if it were my car I would have kept my keys beside me after it went off the 2nd time so that I could turn it off immediately. Im sure Im not the only annoyed person in the building right now. It’s loud enough”
“I have lived in multiple apartment complexes and I’ve never had genuine friendly neighbors. If I did have someone talk to me with “if you need something let me know!” They used it as a way to get info or when I truly needed something they said no. They usually start off friendly, then avoid, and then start problems with you. I’ve had a seemingly friendly neighbor steal my assigned parking spot after knowing her for a year. I’ve never gotten to the stage to pass notes back & forth, or anythin”
“(Not sure if this is the right flair or not, feel free to correct me). I am at my wits end and I've tried everything short of calling my local non emergency line. I moved into my new apartment about a month ago now and lo and behold I have the worst neighbors I've ever had. They constantly hit my walls, stomp and run around all day, scream, cry, you name it. They do it. They now have started to play music in the shared hallway and let their kids run rampant. Theyve also started screaming”
“Hello! We moved into a new apartment a couple weeks ago and since then one of our neighbors has been playing music with bass that is just annoying. I kinda tried to ignore it and just not go into the bedroom since it's only that 1 wall, but now they have been playing it at like 6am in the morning ect. Who even does that? Anyways, I'm not sure what to do, do I leave a note or just go straight to management, any other advice? I think it's them but it could also be an upstairs neighbor”
“I have been in this apartment for like 3 years. It’s my very first apartment and place of my own without any roommates, so I take pride in it. I have had a newer upstairs neighbor that blasts their music all late night into early morning. Not my first rodeo with noisy neighbors. Management suggests we reach out to security and have them handle it but that isn’t a real solution bc this person has now decided they just won’t answer their door. I was finally able to figure out how to get up to thei”
“Hello!! I’m just wanting some opinions. I live in a really small duplex with three other buildings and we all share a small yard. Everyday the tenant that I share a wall with sits outside shirtless with a speaker at a loud volume for hours at a time where I can hear it all the way in my bed room. On the week days it starts around 5pm and on the weekends he starts up his music as early as 7am. He sits out there all day smoking and leaving empty beer cans on our shared porch. He’s always yelling o”
“New neighbor moved in next door. I hear her talking and laughing loudly on the phone most nights. Annoying but she has a right to talk in her own home. I just put earplugs in. This went on for a few weeks, then one morning loud music with lyrics blasting from her place right through my wall. So I go over to meet her and am totally friendly and just explain that the walls are very thin and I can hear everything - told her not to worry about the talking at night but adding music is a lot, and I wo”
“This is a long story but my husband and I (33 and 32) bought our condo in Northern California on the second floor in 2023. There are a total of 3 floors and 36 units. Our first year was great and soon after my husband got into business school nearby so we decided to rent our unit for 1 year to experience on campus living. Our tenant was great, she was a teacher who was contracted out for also 1 year, she had an elderly small dog but he was super sweet and did not bark. My tenant had a disability”
“Your tenant can sue the noisy person for nuisance. I am not sure if the landlord can do this.”
“My downstairs neighbor will blast her music for a couple hours during “non-quiet” hours…. Usually from around 7 pm until 9/10 pm. Quiet hours begin at 10 and the music is off by then. Music is very loud - the bass rattles my windows, I can hear it even when wearing noise canceling headphones with a fan going, I can hear it over my tv, and I can tell exactly what songs are being played because the lyrics come through loud and clear. When shes blasting her music she also smokes pot which I don’t h”
“Advice on how to proceed… looking for but can’t find the right words. My neighbor plays music with bass that makes my floor vibrate, sometimes past 1am, on weekends and weekdays. I can hear it through my noise cancelling headphones. When he has people over it is frat house levels of music and yelling. I’d like to ask that he turn it down/be more mindful about when and how loud he plays his music. Ive considered calling a non emergency police line (we have a noise ordinance past 10pm where I live”
“I live in an apartment (I live on the first floor and my landlord lives above me). Although this question pertains to my neighbor. His yard and my bedroom window are only separated by a small driveway. Our houses are probably 8-10 feet apart at most. It's Sunday night at 11:45pm. I have to work in the morning and I also have a sick and miserable toddler who has woken up twice already. Him and his family are in the backyard right outside my bedroom window and they are talking/yelling very lou”
“Ok so I have about 10 months left in my current lease. My upstairs neighbors are so annoying that I had to put in a noise complaint (2 actually) they had music blaring for over 9 hours and I completely lost it. We decided to tour other units on the property. Here’s the thing. I love this unit but this other unit we found is on the top floor. It is ADA compliant so it is a little different. I can’t decide what I want to do. so I made a pros/ cons list and would love some unbiased opinions. The ne”
“So I rented an apartment with my boyfriend about a year ago. The AC unit is so loud that we are barely able hear one another if we are not within the same general area. We try to not run it at all during the day but it is currently 90 degrees and we have to use it. We called maintenance to look at it and they said it worked fine but was just a very loud machine so there was nothing that they could do. I took off the metal grille to see if there was any insulation and it just seems to be an empty”
“Hi so I’ve been having problems with my neighbors since they moved in 2 months ago. Their loud bass and hours of never ending blaring music is driving me insane. In my building we can pay for a unit transfer without paying to break the lease. There is a unit that is slightly smaller on the top floor. Has any one ever done this ad been happy. It is also cheaper than the unit we are paying for now so in the long run we would make the fee back and some with the new year lease. submitted by &#”
“Need some advice on this one. Moved into a new apartment 2 months ago, and my upstairs neighbors listen to music most hours of the day. Not a problem all of the time, but often they start bumping at 6am and won’t quit until well after midnight. It’s driving me nuts. The constant bass and rattling of my furniture is making me feel crazy. Plus I’m losing sleep. I’m a prep cook and have to be to work at 4am most days and I can hear the music in my pillow. Do I leave a note on the door? Text the lan”
“So for the past few WEEKS i have been hearing loud rave music 24/7 like nonstop. It doesn’t have any lyrics it’s just like a rave beat on repeat for 24 hours. The hard part is it’s loud base, so even with headphone, my own music, or earplugs I can still hear the music. I emailed the property manager and they sent out a reminder to all my neighbors both sides, above, and below. But apparently this person didn’t listen. I then reached out to the after hours courtesy officer to ask them to see if t”
“So my apartment has pretty limited parking. It has one designated space per apartment, and then all others are visitor spots. Since we are a two car household my partner takes the designated spot as they have to get up earlier for work. I usually park in a visitor spot but they aren’t always available. However, there is a spot where a broken down car has been parked for longer than i’ve been renting here. It hasn’t moved once. Doesn’t even look like the owner is checking on it as there’s some mo”
“As stated in the title I removed a neighbor's laundry from the dryer. When I started my laundry they had 10 minutes or less on their dry cycle as did 2 other dryers that evidently belonged to other neighbors(none of whom left me a note in all caps). I had a load of laundry that required hit water and an ultra dirty setting or whatever so it was in there for about 45 minutes. Meaning their laundry sat in the dryer for 30 minutes at least after their cycle had ended. The other loads were also”
“Almost every morning at 6:45am until 9am this tapping clicking sound goes off every 50-70 seconds it is quite loud so it ends up waking me up and I can’t get back to sleep does anyone have any idea what this could be? I live on the 6th floor and there are quite a few floors above me. The strata has spoken with the tenants that live above and they do not use the room that is right above me. I would really appreciate any help at all. submitted by /u/Lauraborabee [link] [comments]”
“I’ve lived at my apartment nearly two years and this is the second time it’s happened. Which isn’t a lot, but it’s weird that it happened twice. Two separate people, months apart, have come up and tried to open my front door as if it were their own apartment. Neither knocked before or hesitated. Came straight from outside into my 4 unit building and directly to my door. Mind you, I don’t live in the best part of town, but it is a 24/7 security monitored gated community. You don’t need a code to”
