“the only thing it’s actually good for is digesting massive, poorly written slack threads or transcript walls from customer calls. if i have to read a 45 minute zoom transcript to find two feature requests, letting claude summarize it saves a ton of headache. but yeah, the people using it to generate actual product strategy or specs are just shipping pure slop. it shows immediately.”
“yes the app got upgraded when i got Sol updates, ad have to say extremely disappointed with the merged app,, but purely from semantics perspective. I used to have both apps, and it helped segregate coding work and other work across both Apps. The new unified one is very cumbersome to keep the flow smooth. Revert it back OpenAI. “I didn't have the ChatGPT classic like folks are mentioning but I did have the same issue where codex just vanished after updating. I ended up just installing the Codex CLI and then asking it to use brew to re install the codex desktop app. Lazy? Maybe, but hey it worked. 😆”
“I do but it could for sure be more robust. I evaluate everything every step of my process and nothing gets committed until I approve. I have a pretty specific scope and rely a lot on my gut/memory of my interviews to validate that the analysis is accurate. If I had a larger scope and higher amount of data and ambiguity then I would probably need to experiment with more robust guardrails.”

“I have connected Claude code to all our repos, and created a whole reference structure in my vault. I treat Claude as my thinking partner, he’s quite good at it, but he needs good references, good basics. It is easier to validate how app actually works, and create a better specs or Jira good tickets, without waiting for responses from developers. But in our case I’m responsible for very good tickets description with corner cases. My whole process involves cooperation with Claude basically.”

“Yes - the big unlock for me has been data. Connected into big query and amplitude and everywhere else, not having to ask around for schemas or do SQL. Access to data to make quicker decisions is the key. If you haven’t connected your AI up to your dbs then do it now. For context I work exclusively in Claude Code desktop app (and the occasional terminal when I need to). I’ve put cowork behind me so that my agents can always have context on the what’s been built/shipped and what the working logic”
“I mean I've used codex and Claude, and they tend to overbuild massively. You need to really steer them in the correct direction, and write code yourself, and change quite a bit of it, ask it why you did something and ask it to change things. Like it makes 10 different files when you need 2. Very annoying.”

“I use Codex with VS Code. You can also use playwright but I never have a need for Codex to manipulate the browser. For skills I have a main AGENTS.md and then scatter skills throughout the theme in .agents/skills/ folders as the documentation described, with optional /reference/ folders inside each for additional context. I ended up building a local MCP service around an Obsidian vault. Approved memories are stored as normal Markdown notes with YAML properties.
