“I am seven months postpartum and I’ve had at least 10 clogged dots. I have one currently and I’ve had at least five spouts of mastitis three times it turned septic. I have state insurance so the only two lactation consultants in my area are charging a price that I cannot afford…”

Many breastfeeding mothers are struggling with frequent clogged milk ducts, often linked to pump usage or flange size. Some find relief when not pumping.

“Yesterday I started to notice a lump or what I suspect is a clogged duct in my upper breast. LO is a few days shy of 3 months and pretty much exclusively breastfed. I have experienced these lumps before since beginning BF, but usually my…”
“Hi, I am 3 days pp with my second and my first breast is already clogged. I can feel the upper third is hard and engorged but it will not empty. I obviously just started pumping/nursing so I did not expect this so soon. It’s almost as if the skin on my nipple healed over the ducts between last time producing milk and now. What can I do? submitted by /u/PicklePartyCat [link] [comments]”

“I usually pump while my LO is at daycare and nurse in the morning and evening (and all weekend). Whenever I travel for work and have to pump exclusively, I end up getting a clogged duct. I stick to my usual schedule of pumping every three hours except a longer stretch over night. Are the clogs because my pump isn’t as efficient as my baby? Or does travel somehow cause inflammation? I’m so sick of dealing with clogs on top of the stress of being away from my baby and pumping while traveling”
“I am 10 weeks pp and just started pumping to prepare to return to work two days a week. I have just been pumping a few mornings a week after she feeds so that my mom can come over and practice giving a bottle. I was also planning to add another afternoon pump soon so I can build a small stash. I was planning on basically feeding her what I pumped while at work within that same week or so, so I’m not trying to create a huge stash. The issue I’m running into is that every time I pump, my right bre”
“Do these “episodes” sound like clogged ducts? Wondering if anyone else has experienced this? I’m 8 months PP and last week experienced what I’m pretty sure was my ever first clogged duct. I woke up to a very sore and slightly engorged left breast, and figured I must’ve missed a feeding on it. Nursed my baby girl, the soreness eased up, and then we moved on. But less than 30 minutes later the soreness was back and, while the breast wasn’t engorged anymore, there was a very firm, defined lump at t”
“I have been having recurrent clogged ducts for the past two months. Baby is 4 months old and in the first two months I had mastitis twice. Each clogged ducts happens on a different spot and different beat each time. I treat it like inflammation, but it still takes a few days to heal. Why is this happening 4 months postpartum? Baby nurses on 1 side per feed every 2-3 hours. I feel like the clogged ducts come after an arm workout, but then not always. Any thoughts or advice? submitted by ”
“Hey everyone, I’m a FTM and trying to do pumping and BF. My little one is 3 weeks right now. The breastfeeding journey has been…rough. But lately the big issue has been recurrent clogged ducts. In the past week I’ve had 4 on either side. They always go away by the next day but they hurt. I’ve been working with my LC and she recommended ice, lymphatic massage, NSAIDs and sunflower lecithin. I am doing all those things consistently and it still keeps happening. I BF him on demand and that often me”
“My baby is mostly directly nursed and gets 2 bottles a day from dad. While nursing I can feel a distinct letdown tingle in both breasts followed by baby's slow suck swallow breathe pattern. Occasionally he will go back to the rapid sucking and trigger another letdown but not every feed. Everything online tells me I should be pumping multiple letdowns but when I'm pumping I don't feel letdown tingles at all. I'm getting more than enough milk, is it okay if I'm not getting ANY”
“I’m 3.5 month postpartum and ever since 3 weeks pp, I’ve had a clog at least every week. There was a stretch of 2 weeks when I didn’t have any clogs, and I also hadn’t pumped at all during that time. My conclusion was that it was obviously the pump that was causing my clogs because I’d been using flanges that were WAY too big for my nipples. Even after I fixed the sizing, I was still getting clogs. I fortunately/unfortunately work for my self so I was able to hire an in-office nanny to watch my”
