“I have an EBF 8.5mo who has always fed at the breast and I have never left more than an hour or two. I have a wedding to attend for some hours and will be missing a feed in the time. How do I have a bottle ready? Would I pump before? When before without messing up the other…”
“Okay this may be a silly question, BUT I use wearable pumps throughout the day to collect about 2 ounces after each feed from each breast. I’ve been washing the pump parts after each use which has been so annoying (can someone please make a self cleaning pump?!). My question is…”
“TLDR (sorry it’s a long and detailed post): how am I supposed to pump my problem boob while being away from baby for 24 hours?? Hey there everyone. In just 2 days my baby girl is 6 months, and that means 6 months of breastfeeding! Yay! I went into it willing and wanting to try…”
Mothers who pump breastmilk are concerned about maintaining their milk supply while traveling, specifically regarding the need to pump frequently and safely transport milk. This reveals anxieties around breastfeeding logistics and potential waste of expressed milk.

“This mate be a silly question but… I’m going to a wedding welcome party in Mexico and bringing my 14 week old baby. She’s exclusively breast-fed and only taken a bottle a handful of times but I want to be able to enjoy myself at the welcome party and my dress is not breast-feeding friendly. To maximize time spent with friends rather than hiding out in the bathroom, feeding her and having to take my dress off multiple times to potentially cluster feed, I was going to plan to pump for 5 to 10 minu”
“Has anyone ever used Milk Maven for international travel, or successfully traveled internationally with pumped breast milk? I’m taking a work trip from the U.S. to Canada and would like to bring the milk I pump while I’m in Canada back home to the U.S. I’ve shipped breast milk domestically while traveling for work before without any issues, but I’ve never checked it onto a plane or brought milk across an international border. Milk Maven (the service we get for free through my company, which is w”

“Would love advice for bringing my milk back after a trip. Round trip is 6 days and the travel day back will probably be 8 hours door to door. Will have access to a shared full refrigerator at the guest house we’re staying in. I don’t see an option like Milk Stork or Milkify available for Spain and the UK, but if there is and I just haven’t found it please post! Not sure what size cooler I need to bring the milk back and if I should invest in a freezable PackIt one or a higher end hard-sided? Als”

“Hi! I don’t pump often, but I’m going to a wedding on Saturday and will pump while I’m away from my daughter (first full day away, I’m so anxious). We’ll be leaving around 9am and getting home probably around midnight. I’ll have a place to store milk in a fridge there, but my question is — is it safe to bring it back home in a cooler with ice packs? The drive is about 2 hours. I know how long it can be out for after pumping but I’m not sure about after it’s been refrigerated. Thanks! submi”
“Hi mommies, I am traveling half way around the world with my 6 month old in stretches of 10 hours with a 3 hour lay over. I mostly breast feed with occasional bottle feeding of pumped milk. My partner and I did not get seats next to each other due to the limited openings in bulkhead row. I have been nursing my baby in cradle position since beginning and he is fussy to feed if I wear a nursing coverup. I have a month to go before my trip, any suggestions on how to mange nursing during this long t”
“How much milk do I leave for my exclusively breastfed baby and when should I start pumping it to ensure I get enough? I'll be away for roughly a day and a half submitted by /u/57BeatlesPhan [link] [comments]”

In just 2 days my baby girl is 6 months, and that means 6 months of breastfeeding! Yay! I went into it willing and wanting to try, and it turned out amazing for us. Goal is 1 year. Right now, she eats every 3 hours, alternating boobs. So every boob more or less is ate from every 6 hours during the day, but not overnight. I heavily dislike pumping. I”
“Traveling with a 3 month old in two days, along with dozens of ounces of breast milk. That 3 month old is exclusively breastfed. For context, mom will be in a work conference from 7AM to 10PM for two full days, so bottles it is. The hotel in Southlake, Texas only has an employee freezer, and cannot provide an in-room freezer, even when I say it’s for critical medical supplies. We are thinking of shipping a dorm freezer or portable one to the hotel, through Amazon or Home Depot (which is right do”
“Long story short. I’m a France, Maps, Party… Have been pumping for the past two days… I have some frozen milk and bags and other fresh milk in the fridge, trying to figure out how to transport it from here to the airport… Without it going to waste… If for some reason, the frozen breastmilk starts to thaw to say it spoiled? I’m just so full of questions… First time Mom… I don’t wanna lose his milk. I’m barely supplying milk for my son… I wanna make sure that it gets back home safely. Flight leave”
“I’m on my way to visit my BFF for her birthday, and it’s my first time away from my 10 month old EBF baby. I am also still nursing my toddler (2.5 years old). Obviously my spectra is coming with me. It’s already been a tricky travel day, and I just had a flight attendant scold me for having too much stuff—I consolidated into a roller suitcase and a backpack that’s slightly “too big” because it’s full of my pump, ice pack, and other pumping supplies as well as my laptop and purse. I know I could”
“Baby is 13 months and has been exclusively breastfed and mostly nursed. We're down to 2 sessions a day now. I will be away for 4 nights and 3 full days. Leaving on a Sunday so I can nurse once that day before I leave and coming back Thursday afternoon so I can nurse that day too. That leaves 3 full days in between where I cannot nurse. Since I've been breastfeeding this entire time, can I not bring a pump and just hand express for a minute each day? I'm assuming my supply is pretty r”
“I’ll have about 4 days of pumping while I am gone for a work trip, can I bring it home? Should I just dump it? I can try to find someone local that I can donate to but if it’s possible to take it home then that’s ideal since it will be a decent amount of milk. submitted by /u/ms_pacman1 [link] [comments]”
“I have an upcoming trip that will cause me to be gone for three nights and four days. Current feeding: breastfeeding around 4 times per day/night on “school days” and a little more on days she’s home with me. We were doing bottles of breastmilk at school but I’m trying to stop pumping (hoping my supply can handle, but that’s a separate issue). I will definitely pump while on the trip. I’m feeling anxious about the trip and for some reason concerned that she might drop breast-feeding while I’m go”
“Hi all, I went to a wedding Thursday- Saturday. Travel days were Thursday and Saturday. In between this time I was able to store my milk in the fridge at an Airbnb. I decided not to freeze my milk because I didn’t want to risk them thawing during the travel day. So I packed all my chiller milk for these couple of days in a cooler with ice packs and ice. TSA said they prefer FROZEN breastmilk. And because I had chilled milk with ice in my bag, they have to test it. They ended up testing like 1/3”
“Really don’t want to buy yet another thing unless absolutely necessary . The time the milk won’t be in fridge will just be about 2-3 hours tops for errands or appointments before daycare pickup submitted by /u/bzzzzzzlightyear [link] [comments]”
“I plan to exclusively breastfeed my baby that will arrive in January 2027. Although i want to have a breast pump for occasional pumping, on days when it will be difficult to breastfeed (travel/sick). What should I do about pump and bottles in that case? What type of pump and bottles should i buy before baby arrives? Should i also buy formula for emergency case or wait? submitted by /u/Adorable_Ad9714 [link] [comments]”
“About 20 mo postpartum and have 2 day trip upcoming. Only feed 2-3x per day currently. Will I dry up if I skip feeding / pumping for 48 hours? Would prefer not to pump but suppose I could. I haven’t pumped in like a year. submitted by /u/Electronic-Ball-5607 [link] [comments]”
“Going through my 2nd breastfeeding journey with my 2nd baby (3 weeks old now). I'm considering getting a travel nursing pillow for feeding outside of home. At home I used my breast friend and I LOVED it!! I just found out MBF has a travel version (inflatable), but at the same time, was just gifted the Boppy Travel pillow. My thinking: - MBF travel pillow: can roll flat and carried easily in diaper bag, but need time to setup (inflate, put cover on, etc). However, it provides flat surface and”
“I‘ve rarely been away from my now 13mo and will have a work trip (2 nights away) next months, he will be 14 month old. I know that obviously we have to pump to keep supply up, but I‘ve read on here that some people only breastfeed on the weekends or other irregularities. I currently breastfeed twice a day (morning and evening), sometimes more. If he ate really much for dinner, he takes like 3 sips and is done. Otherwise and in the mornings he does take his 20+ mins but I think it’s also for comf”
“This weekend I’ll be leaving my baby for 24 hours to fly out to my cousins baby shower. I have a freezer stash that my husband will use to feed the baby with, but now I’m curious about my own supply … I assume I will need to travel with my pump. But do I really need to pump every two hours to maintain supply? Will I need to pump and dump? It would break my heart to throw away the milk. But I also don’t know how to safely travel with it. Any input here would be so appreciated! submitted by”
