“Hi, I adopted a senior cat about 6 months ago. I can't figure out why he pees so much. It's a normal volume (maybe slightly high, but never low), no vocalization or visible signs of discomfort, just 7-10 trips per day to pee in the litter box. He drinks a fair amount of water…”
“Cat, 16 years. Lemon sized mass on spleen spread to liver and lungs. Late afternoon, I called vet after she began to excessively urinate on the floor, leaking a very very light tint of pink liquid and then what appeared to be a small blood clot? They said I could bring her in…”
“Short version: Cat is recovering from a serious illness and is stressed out and peeing inappropriately. My sweet big orange boy, 2 years old, was recently diagnosed with anemia (IMHA). It was quite an ordeal, with him needing to be hospitalized and fed by tube. He is also on a…”

“Hey everyone. I need some vet advice please!! My male cat, 7 years old, recently peed downstairs two days in a row and it looks like he didn’t use his litter box for 2 days. Both pees he did downstairs looked like normal sized puddles.…”

“I (35/m) recently just returned from a late night trip to UrgentVet. My 4 year old Male (neutered) cat has been showing signs of pain; yowling/hissing, heavily grooming his stomach and genitals, nd hasn't used the restroom in at least 24 hours. They told me my cat has a UTI and gave him an antibiotics shot, and some take home painkiller and Gabapentin. I've tried to sleep but I woke up about 4 hours later and went to the restroom. He came in with me and proceeded to get into the litter b”
“My male cat was recently taken to the vet 3 days ago. Blocked bladder and a UTI. The first night he wet himself because he was still very high. I haven’t noticed him go pee since. But he’s also been hiding and squatting in random places. He’s been straining really hard again today, groaning and seems to be pushing. I’m nervous he has another blockage or could it just be the UTI? He’s on a new diet, lots of drugs, and I’ve been doing my best to keep him drinking water. submitted by /u”
“So my male Bengal cat Silas is 5 1/2 months old, and I recently took him to the vet to get neutered. The day before he was supposed to get neutered, he peed on my mom’s bed even though he has never had an accident like that before and has always used the litter box perfectly. I told the vet, and he decided to postpone the neuter in case Silas had a UTI. He did a urine culture and started him on amoxicillin. About three days into the antibiotics, Silas did try to pee on the bed again. A few days”
“Hi, last weekend I noticed my 2 year old boy looked confused when going to the litter box, like something was wrong and I started watching him closely when he went to go after that, it wasn’t long that I noticed there was blood in his urine and he was only able to pee droplets. I know crystals are most common in boy cats, so that was my first thought. I rushed him as soon as I could to the vet on Monday as theres no emergency vet open on weekends here, and he stayed until Thursday which is when”
“Hey all, hoping for some perspective. My 4 y/o neutered DSH cat, Bob, had his first urinary episode on Sept 18. Emergency doctor found no blockage and potentially FIC. They also did blood and urine tests on him. They found that his creatinine level was a bit high at 193.3 (already IRIS Stage 2 territory). However! Urine that day was well-concentrated though (USG 1.041), which seemed reassuring — more pointing to dehydration/stress than real kidney issues. Vet said recheck in 1-2 weeks. Did that”
“My 4.5 month old bsh kitty has been having diarrhea/soft stools with slight red blood in it which we have seen a vet and are awaiting results of a stool sample. The vet put him on a bland wet food diet (hills science) along with probiotics. I’ve noticed he has been peeing more frequently since he started the wet food. The amount isn’t excessive or anything but i’m just worried about the frequency. before he was getting both dry and wet food but until his diarrhea is gone he’s just on the wet foo”
“He drinks a lot of water regularly. He is an outdoor and indoor cat but has all of the necessary shots. What could this be? Can’t attach pictures but he’s peed more than once in the litter box but it’s very pink in color. - Black cat - 1.5 years old - neutered - male - no previous medical issues - healthy weight submitted by /u/xuuxi [link] [comments]”
“i’ve read that kitten uti’s are uncommon, but thinking my baby might have one. she is only 3/4 months old, but has randomly started peeing outside the litter box. the urine is clear with no blood, and she doesn’t cry when she goes. we have two cats and two litter boxes, both which are kept very clean. any advice or experiences with this? “My cat has been very lethargic, lazy and doesnt run around and jump that much anymore. This has been going on for about a month. We took her to the vet 3 weeks ago because she had blood in her pee, and kept straining at the litter box, unable to pee. She even vomited 2 days in a row. At the vet, they gave her some shots(anti-inflammatory, anti-hemorrhagic, anti-spastic, anti-emetic) and her urination has beenback to normal ever since and she also hasn't vomited again. Though, her state hasnt”
“I have a large cat litter in the bathroom for my 2 cats, both 11 months old. The 2nd cat pees/poops in the litter but the 1st one only poops in the litter. She has started to pee on the bathroom floor. She's: A Short Hair Tabby 11 month old Female Neutered ~8 lbs My roommates were gone for a week, so I would pee with the bathroom door open. She might have seen me pee in the toilet. Ever since, she has started peeing on the floor. This has been going on for about 3 weeks. As far as I know, sh”
“He’s just over 2 years old, last checkup very healthy, neutered. I suspect urine crystals are the cause but to explain whats been happening a few days ago I noticed wet spots on my bed and didn’t know what they were, it kept happening. Yesterday I noticed when he went to go to the litter box he kind of put his front paws to go in the box (its an enclosed box) but left his hind legs out like he kind of didn’t know what to do. I noticed some wet spots on the floor and when I wiped it up there was”
“Hello. I have a 3 year old, domestic longhair, spayed female cat that has been leaking urine. Symptoms started today. She had 3 peeing accidents with a decent amount of urine output. Refusing to eat other than a tiny bit of churu treat and has been hiding for about half of the day. Along with one bowel movement that was somewhat diarrhea but not fully. Would you consider this an emergency or does this sound like something that can wait until Monday? I’m extremely paranoid as I’ve had to put down”
“Cat 6/M Had a blockage about 2 weeks ago. Currently at the vet for another potential block/uti. He is on Hills Stress Wet, Royal Canin urinary care dry. He also gets Cystophan & there is Feliway diffusers. What would be the next option before PU surgery? submitted by /u/Majestic_Dance9427 [link] [comments]”
“My cat (male, 2yo) had a urinary blockage last week. We caught it in time luckily and brought him to the vet, he was catheterized and put on fluid for a couple of days, and then he came back home. He's been fine for the past few days, we are giving him all the meds the vets prescribed obviously, he's eating, we switched him to a special hydration diet the vet recommended (Purina ProPlan Hydra Care) and we also add a bit of water to the food, he has three water bowl around the house and w”
“My cat is FEMALE, 11 years old, has IBD. She had her kidney values tested 2 months ago and they were perfect. She pees about 3 times a day on average. She's on long term prednisolone (0.25 mg 1x every other day) Sometimes my cat's pee is not all in one clump. Sometimes it is, but other days it'll be in like 3-6 smaller clumps, to the point that her pee clumps look like poop from afar until I actually scoop. Online says this is a red flag for blockage, but she's female and this ha”
“My boy cat (5 months old) somehow only pees outside the litter box mainly at night, or else it’s just once a day. Mind you it could be a few days he doesn’t pee out of the litter box and then all of a sudden, he’s peeing just infront of it. Like I’m talking he’s sitting right next to it. We do have another cat in the house and they get along great, we clean the litter box twice a day, and we haven’t changed the litter recently or where the litter box is located. He’s just sometimes not peeing in”

It's a normal volume (maybe slightly high, but never low), no vocalization or visible signs of discomfort, just 7-10 trips per day to pee in the litter box. He drinks a fair amount of water (more than an average cat), but he also has IBD and was very dehydrated from chronic loose stool when I first got him. Stool is normal now, still drinks a good amount of water compared to my healthy, young adult cat”
“Cat, 16 years. Lemon sized mass on spleen spread to liver and lungs. Late afternoon, I called vet after she began to excessively urinate on the floor, leaking a very very light tint of pink liquid and then what appeared to be a small blood clot? They said I could bring her in now or wait till 7:30 am for an appt. I asked if it was an emergency or could I spend the evening with her, incase they tell me my worst nightmare tomorrow. Receptionist didn’t know so I decided to keep an eye out for any d”
“Urgent please. My cat is on IV fluids and some blood backed up into the IV tubing after he moved around. His paw is still warm and no swelling. Fluid is flowing again now. It’s 12 midnight here where I am and all nearby clinics are already closed so I can’t bring him anywhere until morning. I called one open clinic on another city to just ask for any advice, they said to just let the fluids flow as instructed by his vet. But I just want to make sure. Here are some photos. Thank you 🥺 subm”
“Short version: Cat is recovering from a serious illness and is stressed out and peeing inappropriately. My sweet big orange boy, 2 years old, was recently diagnosed with anemia (IMHA). It was quite an ordeal, with him needing to be hospitalized and fed by tube. He is also on a few different medications since then. The good news is that his treatment is working - his red blood cell percentage is back up in normal range. However, because he's on immune suppressants, we can't let him outsid”

“Hi, my 9 year old cat Zora has been having issues peeing for about a month now. Shes still peeing large amounts but it's taking her a decent amount longer than normal. I took her to the vet about a month ago, and they did a XRAY, and a urinalysis, and came to the conclusion that her bladder was inflamed. There was no stones, crystals or bacteria in the bladder, so they determined it was stress related. They prescribed a anti inflammatory, and gabapentin, about a week later she started peeing”
“Hello we recently took our little guy to the vet for teeth cleaning. They ran tests before anesthesia and they came back concerning. They would like to do a freecatch urine sample and have him seen by a cardiologist. Are these numbers already cause for concern? He seems fine most of the time loves to play sleeping well etc. This is all news to us. My wife tells me not to worry, is there a world these tests are not accurate or are they cause for large concern? proBNP:130 USG 1.009 • Species: cat”
“Hello everyone, I am at loss here and desperately need some advice. Dusty-bun my (now 1 year old, neutered) male cat is the sweetest softest cat ever, he kind of "found" us when he was just a 3 month old and decided we were his. for a bit of context, I live between two homes, my apartment and my parents house, and I have 3 adult female cats in the latter, when we first brought Dusty he wouldn't stop playing with our older cats, much to their dismay, no matter how many paws he got t”
“Hi! my 4 almost 5 month old kitten got diagnosed with a uti by emergency vet after showing all the symptoms. blood in pee, straining to pee and extra cleaning herself. shes taking medicine every 12 hours. but the vet said shes never had such a young kitten have a uti let alone one as bad as hers. she said they urine sample was dark and she had a lit of yeast. has anyone else had this? submitted by /u/Jumpy-Rain-5659 [link] [comments]”
“My cat of 3 yr old male not neautered had about two months ago a blockage, they put a catherer on him for a week then his pee got to normal again, then one time about three weeks ago I saw blood squirting out when he goes to mark his sent on our curtains, we took him to the vet his blood works came out all normal, there was no blockage so the vet sent us home with antibiotics and cystocure again they suspected the brown pinkish pee might be sedements from the blockage previously, then around las”
“not looking for medical advice Almost 8 year old MN Labrador started having bloody urine yesterday morning and then peed out a clump of unknown material. He’s the best boy and my problem child. Cysto done. UA came back negative for bacteria and crystals, culture results came back negative today. Positive for bilirubin, protein found, WBC, and RBC. During U/S guided cysto, there was an odd shadow at the top of the bladder. Rads came back normal, full of poop but no sign of stones. Ultrasound with”
“We are at our wits end with one of our cats. He will not stop peeing on the floor. We have done everything we can possibly think of and tried everything online. We have three litter boxes and a litter robot. We have two cats, they get along great, no issues at all. We keep the boxes clean. We use enzyme cleaner on the mess. We are doing everything right, and he will not stop peeing in this one spot, sometimes 3x a day. His kidneys are fine, he’s gotten an all clear from the vet. The only suggest”
“I need to collect a urine sample. I found a little light brown liquid puddle today with a very small amount of red in it. It's unusual for Churu (1.5 years, female, spayed) or Dovah (9 years, femeale, spayed) to go outside the liter box, and the color had me very alarmed. Called the vet ASAP and they told me they were booked full today and tomorrow so they can't get me in for an exam, but to get a urine sample and bring it in any time during open hours. They instructed me to just remove”
“Female Boston terrier, 11 years old. This morning she woke up for her normal pee. Two hours later she suddenly needed to go out again and peed 6-8 times. When she came in, I noticed she was dripping some blood. So I called her vet, they saw her and said her RBC is high and believe it to be a UTI. They started her on amoxicillin but weren’t super clear on when the blood should clear up or worsening signs. She just came home and is still peeing blood, no fever or other symptoms. Eating normally an”
