“There’s used to be a wall tapestry here, and when it was taken down the wall had these marks. I’ve used erasers, baking soda & water solution, dish soap, the pink stuff, and all purpose cleaner, and the marks have gotten smaller but are still noticeable. Am I going to have to sand it off and repaint the wall? submitted by /u/Odd_boi_ [link] [comments]”
“Hey everyone, I moved into this place and there’s these orange stains on the tile flooring. Doesn’t come up with regular mopping or vinegar, I have zero clue what it could be but I’m hoping there’s a safe way to get it up? Thank you submitted by /u/Jolly-Lingonberry104 [link] [comments]”
“We’ve tried just about everything we can think of from bleach to windex (not together haha) to soap scum detergents and all purpose cleaners. Nothing seems to touch it no matter how long the cleaner soaks nor how heartily we scrub. It’s a rental and the landlord is extremely unresponsive. The walls themselves aren’t obviously water logged based on how they sound along with the lack of overt water leakage elsewhere. We leave the bathroom fan on close to 24/7 to try to clear out as much moisture a”

“I've tried several ways of cleaning stubborn toilet seat stains (will put the pic in comments so it's not right at the top). Nothing conventional works - bathroom cleaners, toilet bowl cleaners, Barkeeper's Friend. I'm afraid of doing anything to abrasive to the toilet seat without more knowledge. “The other day I dyed my hair in the bathroom and forgot to check for stains behind my moisturizer and then found this big stain sitting right there. I tried to scrub it with soap and water but obviously since it had been like 4 days since it happened it didn’t come off. Any idea how I can get it out? submitted by /u/PastMuch4522 [link] [comments]”
“Hello all, So I have a nice dry fit shirt that I managed to get some dirt and grease stains on (pure stupidity on my part I leaned over an engine bay). The shirt is almost entirely white. However, the shoulders have a grey pattern on them and there is also a red Polska logo patch on the breast. So bleaching it is out of the question. I've included some pictures so you can see what I can talking about. There are some other stains of the same kind but they were hard to pick up on camera. I'”

“Hi all, i am looking for advice on how to restore my sink. My partner does not recall the product he used that made the sink look like this. It’s been a couple of months this and it’s still there. Are there any products to restore or make this look less intense? Thank you submitted by /u/Puzzleheaded_File_35 [link] [comments]”
“I put a shirt on this white painted table top and applied Grandma’s Secret Spot remover to it and left it there for a few hours. Clearly a bad move on my part. The soap soaked through and left this mark on the table, which is similar to an oil stain on clothing (ironic given that GSS is used to remove oil stains from clothing). Is there any way to get it off of this table top without ruining the paint? submitted by /u/Aruaz821 [link] [comments]”
“How would you clean the stains out of this bathtub? A Mr. clean scrubbie? Borax? Bleach? Or it’s not clean-able? Thanks! submitted by /u/inoticeiwonder [link] [comments]”
“The bathroom counter had multiple stains from either makeup or hair dye, I'm not sure what exactly. I've tried the good old 5-1 Irish spring but that did nothing. No amount of normal spray cleaner and scrubbing is even making a dent in it. We move out Wednesday, is it time to just accept the hit to our security deposit? submitted by /u/UglyButUseful [link] [comments]”

“I moved into a 1960s house 2 years ago. Ever since, yellow splatter-type stains have been randomly appearing on the walls a few weeks after they’ve been last cleaned. At first, I thought my cat or dog was urinating on the wall, but it doesn’t really make sense. The stains also appear in the bathroom where the animals aren’t allowed, and they can be high on the wall/cabinets (eye level, and I’m 5’8). They also never smell like urine. My only other idea is nicotine? We don’t smoke, but when we mov”
“I’ve had these white, splotchy stains on my bathroom tiles for years. I recently spent hours trying to clean them with a scrubbing brush, steam cleaner, and even a magic eraser, and they wouldn’t budge. My main theories for where they came from are: 1) possibly paint? Someone painted my bathroom ceiling without putting a tarp down over the floor. I don’t think the big stains were there immediately afterwards, but there were lots of tiny flecks of paint 2) maybe I used too high a concentration of”
“Hello all, I’m looking for a good solution to dealing with this awful yellow stain on my bathroom vanity. It’s from where our soap dish used to sit. I have tried several tips I found on the internet including a baking soda paste and barkeepers friend but nothing I’ve tried seems to work. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! submitted by /u/Schnellin [link] [comments]”

“I accidentally spilled Green Gobbler on my bathroom sink counter. I'm not sure what kind of counter this is. It dates from the 60's. It looks like it bleached it. “Put the stain part in the tub so you can run water over it after! Use bleach (I use the low splash one from Walmart) mixed with baking soda & a tiny bit of water! I put it in a bowl! Wet the area a bit then use the toothbrush to apply the mixture! It doesn’t have to be thick it can be watery! It takes the stain right out! Afterwards rinse with water then put it to wash! submitted by /u/Samantha_1233 [link] [comments]”
“We moved into this apartment a couple months ago and these stains have been haunting me since the day we got here. It seems to likely be grease as it's coming from directly under the vent fan / behind the stovetop. Manual scrubbing with a vinegar/water solution didn't help so I'm here to see if the good folks of Reddit have any tips! Thank you in advance! submitted by /u/naaande [link] [comments]”
“Hi all! I'm desperately needing some advice. The other day my dogs salmon oil spilled all over my counter. It took 2 towels to clean it up. I didn't think anything of it and threw them in to wash with a load of other blankets and sheets. Now EVERYTHING reeks of fish oil. Straight up stinks. I've washed this load with everything I know of- detergent, distilled vinegar, fabric softener, bleach, and all of the above combos and NOTHING is helping. What can I use to get the smell out? ”

“Hello people💜 We bought our house a year ago and I noticed what I thought was soap scum/dirt on bathroom counter. It is really hard to see unless you look at an angle with light from the window . You can see it in my 1st pic. I think the stain/residue/mark is some type of product that was rinsed off a paintbrush in the sink . This bathroom was recently remodeled before we bought the house which is why I think it’s a residue left over from clean up. I have tried all types of scrubbers: sponge, M”

“I’m a DIYer and learning as I go. I notice in my restroom has some greenish color under the old peeled paint. I’m wondering what that could be? I’ve attached some pictures of the greenish color I mentioned. submitted by /u/krisp-potato [link] [comments]”
“Hi, I hired a deep cleaning crew to come today as we are moving out of our flat shortly. They let the countertops drip as they washed them onto the floor, leaving these stains as a result. They tried to tell me these are coffee stains that already existed, but there’s no way that’s true… these are fresh from a few hours ago. I’m not exactly sure if they are laminate or natural wood with a very poor finish on them, but I am freaking out as my landlady is extremely particular. I tried myself to ge”

“Moving out of an apartment and trying to remove tough stains, need advice. Only lived here for 3 months but the plastic surfaces stained. The first one is a white plastic feeling kitchen counter. Looks like quartz but sounds and feels like plastic. I tried 15 minute baking soda and that didn't do anything. Second picture is a fiberglass tub bottom. I haven't tried cleaning this one yet as the inspector said they are tough and normally hire professionals to do it (which will cost me $200)”

“I get these streaks in my bathroom walls and ceiling, especially after a shower. I try using a dry sponge mop to get them off but they keep coming back. If it accumulates on the baseboard, I’ll notice it has a bit of a funky smell. My landlord checked the air vent and said it’s working properly. “Hi everyone, As you can see in the pictures, I have some dark streaks on my bathroom walls. From Googling, it sounds like this is caused by surfactant leaching. I have tried using dawn soap and water, baking soda and hydrogen peroxide, and finally a magic eraser, yet nothing has helped. Does anyone have an idea of what to try next? I’d rather not repaint if possible, but I understand that may be the only option left. Thank you! submitted by /u/sadextraspicy [link] [comments]”
“While I was cleaning out my brushes the watery paint shot out onto my shirt (100% cotton). I have tried warm water and dish soap, isopropyl alcohol, and diluted vinegar and nothing is working to get it out. What makes it worse is that my shirt is a light pink and the paint is a darker green. I’m scared of ruining this shirt bc it is a gift from my bf and I really love it. I know I shouldn’t have been wearing a shirt I love but I unfortunately wasn’t thinking. submitted by /u/Axe_Body”
