“I've got Hermes driving a Chrome profile over CDP for a handful of self-hosted tasks. All ~48 web logins sit in that single profile, and the agent just clicks through native autofill so passwords never enter the model's context. That part's working, but it's fragile in two ways…”
“I posted Tabatha here two weeks ago: press Alt+Q in Chrome and see every tab as a screenshot. Tabatha brings windows Alt+Tab capabilities to your browser. It had 14 users. Then something I still can't explain happened. Installs jumped to over a thousand, and almost 80% of them…”
“tl;dr — a free, zero-permission browser extension that adds a single button to every GitHub repo page, giving you one-click access to 13 tools for reading, diagramming, editing and running that repo. No copy-pasting the owner/repo into five different sites anymore. The problem…”
Developers are experiencing frustration with browser workflows, including tab management, privacy concerns during screen sharing, repetitive tasks, and a lack of readily available tools for common development needs. They are building Chrome extensions to address these issues, often driven by personal need and a desire for better control and efficiency. This highlights a gap in existing browser functionality and automation solutions.

“Hi, I'm the developer of Flux, a free, open-source download manager. I'm looking for usability feedback on the current 2.5.0 release, especially the point where a desktop program connects to a browser extension. This is the released version, not a private beta, and no Flux…”
“i guess i will give it a try [re: Presenting Morrow, an open source, privacy focused, and always free alternative!]”
“it started as a curiosity itch, but as users poured in i started to put my mind into it to make it into a proper extension. i posted it when i first built the initial version, now its at almost 6k users thanks to everyone who encouraged me to push this forward! quick rundown for anyone new: it unhides hidden reddit profiles, posts and comments show up right on the profile page. hover any username to see hidden/public status instantly, and there's an insights tab breaking down activity by sub”
“You caught me, I'm using Dark Reader! It looks fine if I disable the extension. [re: New Project Megathread - Week of 15 Oct 2026]”
thanks man, appreciate it! Yeah I went with localStorage by default to keep things simple (and lightweight haha) but yeah, that is a good idea, and I bet one could achieve this…
“lol whatever [re: Presenting Morrow, an open source, privacy focused, and always free alternative!]”
“thanks! [re: Presenting Morrow, an open source, privacy focused, and always free alternative!]”
“yeah im gonna do that [re: Presenting Morrow, an open source, privacy focused, and always free alternative!]”

“Thanks, both fixed! Bug hunter eyes 👀 If you catch anything else, I’m all ears, and if you open a PR (github.com/cubepals/cubepals) I’ll happily help. No PHP required 😄! “Stunning. Well done! [re: Presenting Morrow, an open source, privacy focused, and always free alternative!]”
“Backstory: I wanted Gmail to be an actual Mac app — keyboard-first, in the dock, no browser tab, no Electron. So I built Briskmail: native AppKit, talks to the Gmail API directly (not IMAP), caches mail in an encrypted local SQLite database with the key held in the macOS Keychain. Tech stack: Swift and AppKit, the Gmail REST API, SQLite for the local cache, Keychain per account. Built most of it with Claude Code. It has Send Later, snooze, and an AppleScript plus CLI surface so you can script yo”
“The only downside to this is that I don't always have control over the application. If I'm building it, this is a great suggestion. [re: Is there a way to change the text of a browser's tab based on which page you're on?]”
“Thanks! I'll check it out. [re: Is there a way to change the text of a browser's tab based on which page you're on?]”
“I wanted a notch for Windows. The ones I tried felt heavy, so I wrote my own in Rust. It's ~1 MB, no Electron, and uses about 0% CPU while it sits there doing nothing (~30 MB RAM on my PC). MIT-licensed. What it does: Ctrl+Alt+T from any app: type a task, Enter, done before you forget it. One click starts a focus timer on a task, and the countdown stays in the notch. Music controls, Wi-Fi/Bluetooth/volume dropdowns, clipboard history with search, stats, pinned apps. The completely unnecessar”
this looks clean man, the overlay design is real nice without being too cluttered. my brother used one of those other apps and said it ate his fps so i hope yours…
“I was testing Grok's browser environment through test.leonix.io , and something interesting happened. Grok went from looking like a browser running in a cloud environment to something much closer to a regular desktop browser. “just gave the web version a spin, the session switching is smooth like butter. used to have 15 tabs open just to keep track of where i left off in different repos one thing i noticed is the sync between my phone and desktop was almost instant, maybe 2 second delay at most. TYSM! [re: Presenting Morrow, an open source, privacy focused, and always free alternative!]
“What does this do better than other projects like LocalSend or Pairdrop? [re: Exactly one year ago, I shared AltSendme here. Your encouragement helped me take it from 50 to almost 10,000 GitHub stars. Here's what's new.]”

All ~48 web logins sit in that single profile, and the agent just clicks through native autofill so passwords never enter the model's context. That part's working, but it's fragile in two ways. Chrome's saved-password fill is identifier-independent: on an origin with multiple accounts it fills the most recently used one, and I can't programmatically summon the dropdown to pick a specific”
“Cool! Does it support JMAP? We need more jmap clients :D [re: Gofer, a multi-account webmail]”
oh, nice I did not know about, it I will check it now [re: I made a small plugin that turns a note property into a reminder]

“Ever copied a webpage into ChatGPT or Claude, only to find that the formatting, form values, and UI structure got lost? I built Copy4Chat , a free Chrome extension that turns selected webpage content into structured, readable text. Just select, right-click, paste into ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, or any other AI chat. It preserves things like form values, selected options, labels, and layout hierarchy without requiring screenshots or browser access from your AI assistant. Take United page for exampl”
I made a small plugin to download and use random themes
Looks very cool and useful! [re: Thingport is officially v1.0.0]
“yes. its mentioned in the readme. [re: Presenting Morrow, an open source, privacy focused, and always free alternative!]”
“Hi! I'm looking for people to try BrowSel and tell me what breaks or feels off. What it does: when you click a link anywhere in Windows, it asks which browser and which profile should open it, and marks the profiles already running. Free, open source, runs locally, no telemetry. Download: https://nocloudware.com/browsel What I'd love to know: - Does it work with your browsers and profiles? - Is the picker fast and clear enough, or does it get in the way? - What's missing (remembering”
“It's helpful to include a link. https://nexterm.dev/ [re: Terminal in a browser]”
“Why: private, local AI shouldn’t require technical skills. Tap handles the setup so anyone can have an assistant that runs on their own PC: no subscription, no account, nothing sent to a cloud AI. What: a clutter-free Windows browser with Tappy , an AI helper that runs locally (Ollama). Answers, web search with sources, fact-checks, and your own files. Privacy, precisely: the AI model, your conversations and your files stay on your PC. When Tappy needs fresh info, it sends only the search words”
“yeah thats what I figured, kind of a bummer theres no scoping option for solo users [re: Separating databases of pages under Private?]”
“I posted Tabatha here two weeks ago: press Alt+Q in Chrome and see every tab as a screenshot. Tabatha brings windows Alt+Tab capabilities to your browser. It had 14 users. Then something I still can't explain happened. Installs jumped to over a thousand, and almost 80% of them came from Russian-language browsers. So the first thing I did was translate it into Russian (and Spanish). The second thing was reading why people uninstalled. The top answer: "previews missing or blank". Chr”

“this is clean, love that everything stays local in the browser. tried it with a 40-page contract and it didnt even blink, most online tools would choke or ask me to sign up by page 3 the mobile layout could use some love though, toolbar buttons are a bit cramped on my phone and i kept hitting wrong one with my thumb you thought about adding a dark mode? staring at white screen while editing pdf at 2am is not great for the eyes bookmarking this for sure, nice work [re: [Showoff Saturday] Built ed”
“Thats clever as hell, having it hit exact KB targets instead of just a quality slider is a huge deal for compliance stuff. Hows the RAM usage look on large PDFs though, any browser tab crashes when it chews on something heavy [re: I built 100kb-sdk: Client-side WebAssembly compressor to shrink images & PDFs to exact KB ceilings in browser RAM]”

No copy-pasting the owner/repo into five different sites anymore. “I made THE ONE: one screen with one person’s nickname and message. You hit “TAKE IT,” leave a thought, and become the current owner. Then someone else can take your place. It’s a small experiment about leaving your mark on the internet. Curious whether people will leave jokes, something personal, or just keep stealing it from each other. https://the-one–melikemelodiata.replit.app/ Does the idea make sense when you open it? submitted by /u/karaliva [link] [comments]”

“u/aarshps Muthal's web version is a fine first look, but a tester who only uses it isn't opted in to the closed test, so I'd put the opt-in and Play install links above it. I make ThreadFox. Test Rounds fits this ask better than what I pointed to before: Muthal joins a round of 14 Android developers who all test each other's apps for 14 days, with a check-in every morning and anyone who stops replaced. It's $20 per app, once, and you test the other apps in your round too. htt”
