“Hi, my elderly rescue started getting weaker and we noticed less joy by walking, no more running and he didn't wear his tail up anymore. We adopted him when he was already a senior dog, he had dementia and his eyes and ears didn't work as good anymore. He was with us for almost 2 years before he got a diagnosis. He got diagnosed 6 months ago with squamous cell carcinoma. It invaded a bone already at this point, proven by the x ray. The mass was removed successfully, he recovered quickly”

“Need advice/reassurance about gabapentin sedation I took my dog to the emergency vet this past Friday because he was diagnosed with severe gum disease. The vet prescribed Clindamycin, 1 mL every 12 hours, and Gabapentin, 0.3 mL every 8–12 hours as needed for pain. Since I know he must be in a lot of pain, I was giving the Gabapentin every 8 hours. This is the first time my dog has ever taken medication, and he became extremely sedated. The best way I can describe it is that he looks drunk—very s”

“Hi! looking for some reassurance and possible differential diagnostic guidance while waiting on test results. My 2yr old labrador Retriever started with symptoms of hind leg muscle spams, fever and submandibular swelling back in June. It occurred suddenly but the muscle spasms were the first symptom followed by fever and swelling about 10 hours later. We went to the emergency vet and had blood tests done and an ultrasound. everything was relatively normal with the blood tests showing elevated ne”

“Hello everyone! My dog is about 15 1/2 years old and 16 lbs. He’s still overall healthy as far as I can tell. Runs up and down the stairs, up and off furniture, gets super excited for food, sharp mentally. He’s always been very sensitive to allergies, but over the last year or 2 he has been sneezing and coughing often. The sneezing and reverse sneezing have especially has gotten worse. The only meds that help his cough are steroids but I don’t want to keep him on that all the time. My concern is”

“I have a lab malinois mix that has been extremely active his whole life. The last year or so he’s slowed down a bit (he’s almost 9) which was expected so we’ve been giving him joint supplements and healthier food to try and compensate. Recently he went out side and sprinted after a cat and took a fall and was unable to move after he did. Turns out he already had some pre existing arthritis (expected) but also compressed a bunch of the discs in his neck to the point they’re almost touching. He’s”

“My dog got diagnosed with leukemia in March. He’s been taking prednisone ever since and is now way skinnier than before but still his hungry and thirsty self. He’s also now taking gabapentin for any muscle pain. Two days ago he was in the car and he jumped out and fell. Ever since he’s been walking on three legs practically while sometimes putting pressure on the affected leg. We went to urgent care yesterday and that vet said to up his gabapentin to 3 times a day but to consider euthanasia. Whi”

“Our 1 y/o 55lb husky has had diarrhea for a week. He was started on a round of probiotics and a bland diet of ground beef and white rice (he’s allergic to chicken). He was drinking normal on this course but his stools became very infrequent and small and still loose. Called vet back and they prescribed him metronidazole. He’s on day 3. He’s still ravenously hungry as he always has been since we got him as a puppy, but he won’t drink water (which he usually drinks a lot of). We have to add water”
